Kwaku Oduroh, right back, has recently been released from Man City and had a trial with Spurs earlier this year (first few Google results).

I think we’ll see more additions but the season is about to start and Rosenior needs to see what he’s currently got and then add/change where needed.

We seem very light at full back positions, especially as that’s where we’ve been quite strong in recent seasons. Another goalie is ideal to provide competition. Another striker that is different from McGoldrick and Stretton would be useful too.

I suspect we might look at finding some younger players (academy or out of contract) to fill the outfield spots. We’ve got some good academy prospects for wide attacking areas that might be seen today.

What I’m trying to say is that he likely sorted it out before the takeover and that they’ve waited for it to go through to finalise it because they think they can avoid paying compensation.

Its a s*** situation, but will hopefully get resolved with some compensation from Bremen if the club and the authorities work together on it.

His contract was due to end in June 2022 and we were initially unable to trigger the extension due to being under embargo/administration.

Players can talk to other teams in Europe without issue when they’re in the list 6 months of their deal. Our extension was triggered too late and his mind looks like it was already made up.

Think there were Werder Bremen links long before Clowes even declared interest. The transfer was on the cards for a while we just had our hopes lifted that he’d stay when we saw that we’d triggered our one year option.

Yeah, if there is a clause to play him in the majority of matches then we shouldn't have been in for him. No matter how good he is, or might be, he's still a rookie goalie that is likely to make mistakes and drop form. Especially if he knows he's undroppable.

Competition for Wildsmith still needed, but plenty more fish in the sea.

Think we're seeing a reset at the u18 and u21 level (after the change from u23 coming in this season).

I'm disappointed to see that McDonald and Wilson haven't quite made the cut, but perhaps they also need a fresh start somewhere. Hopefully we can recruit well like we have in recent seasons to fill out these squads with exciting youngsters.

If there’s not much in the way of free agents, perhaps a youngster on lob is needed. I hear that Chelsea have a bright young left back that knows the area well… ?

Bremen will be a great place for him. Will get game time and play against some of the best players in Europe.

Shame we have been done over by agents pushing for moves and resulting in us getting significantly less than he’s worth, but he needs to look after himself in a short career and staying here would see a lot of fans getting on his back with every mistake.

Deji Sotona from Nice? Would tick the boxes for young talent that I’d like us to add to the squad alongside these steady experienced players we’ve been adding.

Young goalie is interesting, makes it seem like Wildsmith will start as first choice. Maybe we need an older more experienced gk too?

Best mates with CKR too, I remember them saying at the end of the season on Instagram about finally being able to play at the same club as each other, could well be us.

They played in the same youth team in East London I believe.

Johnson posted about how great it was to be playing on the same pitch as Colin last season, although on different teams obviously. I think he’s nailed on to sign with us and make that dream come true. Just need CKR to sign a new deal too ?

It’s definitely a strong start to our transfer activity and much needed after the last few seasons of embargoes.

So far it’s been steady performers who we should be able to rely on. Hourihane would be immense in league 1 and I hope we could maybe get one or two more of that calibre (striker and full back) to be part of what could be the most fun season we’ve had in years.

I also expect us to get some youth signings in too. Perhaps some recently released youngsters who’ve seen our pathway into the first team will be happy to sign up and bolster our u21 team with a chance of breaking through this season.
