  1. People are going to work as normal today. Kids are in schools as normal. Why should sports events be cancelled this weekend?

I understand halting some stuff yesterday when the news dropped, but UEFA matches still went ahead without issue.

Horse racing postponed today along with the test match. Also the last 3 stages of the Tour of Britain have been cancelled. A lot of money down the drain the event organisers and those working within the sports that have been cancelled, and the change of plans to the fans and spectators who won't be able to change bookings at the drop of a hat.

The Substitutions were wrong also. He brings Sibley on, but leaves no one up front for him to play off.

Collins was still up top when Sibley came on, then Osula came on to replace Collins a little while later.

The substitutions weren’t great but I don’t think we can let Sibley off the hook because of formation. McGoldrick was simply much more effective today and we lost control of the midfield when he went off. Sibley should’ve been an outlet for the midfield, but was ineffective once again.

Thompson had a nightmare and I feel that Rooney is currently a better option for DM cover on current form as well as being more imposing physically.

Those first two subs (Sibley and Thompson) were the turning point in my opinion.

  3. I think it’s been mentioned already, but the first two subs from us totally changed the game (for the wrong reasons for us).

McGoldrick was bossing it and Hourihane doesn’t work well in that position.

Sibley (out of position etc etc…) wasn’t as effective as he had been recently and Dobbin was brought on too late.

Hope LR learns from this one. It stings, but we have a lot of games left and with Collins now finding the net and Didzy getting fitter we will bounce back next time.

It's about opinions and you're entitled to think this. Just as I'm entitled to mine (and naturally believe I'm right). I'm furious the person I consider our best player and the player, if the manager believed in him, who could be the best midfielder outside the Prem by the end of the season, is again the first and easiest person for the manager to drop. Absolutely furious.

Great we're winning. But that doesn't make it the right decision.

I understand that you are infatuated with Louie, but Derby County is a team and the squad are working together well so far (with or without your beloved Sibbo on the pitch).

Its boring reading every post from you mention what we all know you think about Sibley and some of your recent ramblings regarding Rosenior’s choices are just making some readers like me ignore the posts of someone who I think was once a thoughtful and insightful poster on here.

Give it a rest for a bit. We know your feelings on the situation. If we lose a few where Sibley could’ve made a difference then you can tell us all that you were right all along.

Would Delap and Gordon have wanted to leave if the club was being run properly.

Delap left while we were in a great position with the academy. The lure of Man City was too good for him to turn down.

Kaide also left while the academy was in good shape, and has seen his brother come through and then settle into a lower league team, so probably thought it would be beneficial to make a move to a top academy team to see if it helped his career progress even further.

We did develop our own but had to sell off the family silver to pay the bills.

We may not see an academy player break into the first team for a few years.

Point 1 - The players we have lost from the academy, that were around the first team, were players we had got from other teams quite recently and we didn't really do too much with their development. I think Festy was the longest serving player from the academy who left this summer. We couldn't stop the sale of Kaide Gordon or Liam Delap due to the nature of how the youth system and contracts currently work, but they also both left before we were in admin.

Point 2 - We've got academy players on the cusp currently. Darren Robinson being the most prominent, but Carlos Richards and Bartosz Cybulski have been involved with the first team this season and Ola Ibrahim and Osazee Aghatise are there or thereabouts with their development too. We don't have a lot of players at academy level at the moment so I do expect the recruitment team to actively be looking for players to add to these squads through the season to help bolster, and hopefully we can give a chance to the next Plange/Ebiowei too. Jake Rooney looks to be a signing with this in mind. Signed and announced for u21s, but he's looked ready for first team football each time he's had his opportunity.

  7. Perhaps we are guaranteeing him game time of some sort for the season that he might struggle to get regularly at Chelsea? I imagine he needs regular minutes and then the odd chance to move up to the first team to play in cup comps and cover injuries.

We are allowed a max of 8 loans (5 in a match day squad). We currently have 3, with Anang out for a few more weeks too. If we bring him in on loan and Osula from Sheff U (or other striker) then that brings us up to 5 total. We could have space for another loan (RB?) in the squad until Anang is available again and then we'd just need to drop one loan player from the match day squad each game to be within the limits.

He seems to be a versatile player with a lot of positive reviews regarding his potential and playing style.

    I saw my mate,

    ?

    I saw my mate,

he told me he saw the new Maldini.

    So I asked,

    who is he?

He goes by the name of Jake Rooney

Fits a bit better by shortening “he said to me” bit. Maldini could be changed with Baresi, Chiellini, Desailly or VVD. ?

Rooney & Cashin - that's a CB pairing for the next decade

This was what I was thinking last night, although I can also see him stepping into DM if required.

I imagine after the short term contracts for our more senior defenders expire this season that Cash and Rooney could be our first choice pairing next season.

  10. The problem is that these owners have clubs in multiple countries making it a UEFA issue. And as we all know, UEFA are the least likely organisation in the world to turn a blind eye to some money laundering and corruption…

EFL can’t do much about it apart from stop these owner purchasing the clubs in the first place. Which they haven’t done so far.

It stinks but we have to get on with our own club and work our way back in our own way.

I'm sure you have but if you go down to Leith (literally a 15 minute bus ride) it becomes much less touristy and the bars are just as good, if not better than directly in the center. There is an absolutely cracking burger and cocktail bar right near my gf's place that I couldn't recommend highly enough if you're ever in the area.

Are you usually so accommodating to those who are around your girlfriends area?
