  1. Northampton game is massive for me, lose and they pull 3 back then it's right back where we were, bag the 3 points and go in to Blackpool at home we could be looking at being 1 win away from pretty much being up barring a huge disaster which would go against all the odds.

I think we have to realise that we’re getting 2024 Gayle, who has lost his pace but can find the net. He’s not going to outpace defenders any more, but if we get the ball into the box often enough he will score. He’s also good at laying the ball off.

Just need NML to get his mojo back (he hasn’t looked happy since his injury)

His positioning and movement is still class, first goal he was right there but got played behind him. We whip balls across the face he'll score for fun.

  3. Sibley will only look better when he is surrounded by higher calibre players in tactical systems that suit him, he has shown he can do it at higher levels. Remember when we played Man Utd in the cup and he terrorised McTominay, always been a fan and dissapointed with how he is utilised under the current tactical style.

Clowes is also a fan and won’t be enjoying what he is seeing…

He seems to admire the do a job type managers over flair, maybe he thinks keeping it basic is a better strategy for success. He was probably one of the fans that thought we should have gone for Big Sam or Warnock a few years ago.

Edit: Take a look at Ipswich, young manager playing good football, played their way out of L1. We had a young up and coming coach playing decent footy, let him go for this style. What does that tell you.

Mate it’s all to play for still .

Warne can’t legislate against a goalkeeper error of the highest order

Lets be fair with criticism, Adams poor control for the second and let them in also.

It’s all opinions re enjoyment. I’ve always enjoyed a direct game where the ball moves from defence to attack quickly. I actually enjoyed a few of the Gary Rowett games. I distinctly remember us turning Fulham over on a Tuesday night where Dave Nugent was on fire.

Gonna get pelters for this but Warne’s football is the worst I have seen in my time watching Derby. We are in the lowest position we have ever been since I have started watching the Rams, and there is such an absence of any football know how on the pitch. No midfield, no game plan, just get it out wide and cross until the ball somehow lands at the strikers feet.

Thing is when i'm with my mate at games we just kinda try to talk about the tactics and performances and we just kinda just stare blankly "yeah it's pretty s***". Pretty amazing for a team 3 points off top of the league.

  7. Being a kid from a football zero interest family I never really got to see Bald Eagle days just the highlights I saw if I managed to commondeer a TV for MOTD. I'll list my top few for the ones I actually attended to see though:

    1. Steve Mac - Incredible season that deserved so much more. Seasons after were still fun if dissapointing.

    2. George Burley - Soon as we got Rasiak, Idiakez and Bisgaard we were rockin and rollin. Idiakez best freekick taker i've ever seen live. Leon Osman kept us up season before with some crucial goals, remember us chanting Leon sign for us after FT last day. Also coffee cup game...

    3. Lampard - Had some bad runs especially when Mount was injured but the games were exciting.

    4. Rooney/Rosenoir - Fun games against the odds, good atmosphere.

    5. Wassall - He wasn't that bad really.

    6. Clement - This guy was the total antithesis of Warne, loads of passes and possesion but we were cruising it before a wobble and a certain Melephant hitting the big red button.

Rest I struggle to differentiate, honestly couldn't stand Davies.

I know the maintenance guy at PP. They haven’t been able to use the UV lamps as the pitch has been too wet. They are heavy units and would have left deep ruts on the pitch if wheeled on.

Don't we have one of those high tech weaved pitches with modern drainage? How did we run them for last 10 years through winter?

I'm still not over that one either. Thought it was such a a coup at the time....

    What do I know?

Dutch total football right there, totally s****.

When he left Rotherham for us, weren’t they in the top 6 or something?

It’s definitely something I worry about. If we are playing the football we are now next season we will go straight back down.

Question really is whether we think, with more of an opportunity to change the squad, it will get better?

It's a valid point but it's the reason I don't really want Smith here, don't want to be some kind Rotherham tribute act with Warne getting the band back together. Fact that it sounds like we were in for Goodwin gives me some hope though, bout time we actually started looking at prospects like that.

I feel firmly stuck in the ‘I don’t want Derby to sack Paul Warne but am concerned about how bad the football is’ corner.

The league table does not lie but the performances across this entire season as a whole have been pretty abject. I am very, very concerned that we would not survive in the Championship under Warne. We absolutely won’t playing like this.

I am convinced we don't survive the Champ under Warne, his tactics are no match for the quality of that division. We'd get passed off the park, but we don't need to speculate the evidence is already there from his Rotherham stint.

  12. Munguia - Ryder went pretty much as I thought it would. Really enjoy watching Munguia he's a bit of a throwback fighter and always looking to land big shots. Ryder always been a bit too limited to win a title, got robbed against Callum Smith but I think our Zach Parker would have beat him handily if it was for the injury. Shame we could have had a big Parker fight at PP by now!

  13. Anybody watching the Crocker fight tonight? Looks an interesting prospect but could run in to the mexican curse. Didn't even think Felix was that special against Cully but his chin was out there all fight and he got chinned. Crocker should box his head off but Felix will be letting the bombs go from round one.
