The difference between "semantics" and "sacking" are as different as Mount Everest and a Dead Rat.

    1. So they just kept a verbal rolling agreement, What's this "verbal" rolling agreement DC had with LR?

    2. Didn't think he was ready for the challenge = duty of care, The man who pays the piper gets to call the tune.

    3. After winning us way more points than anyone believed was possible with a completely stripped bare squad and a massive points deduction?...LR built the squad from 5 players to a team/squad that could start the season, The points deduction was the season before and had no bearing on the upcoming season, Not scoring in 4 away games might have had something to do with DCs decision...Charlton away, Shrewsbury away, Fleetwood away and Lincoln away, Maybe just maybe DC saw enough that he thought a different manager was needed

Clowes has shown he isn't one to pull the trigger at first sign of panic yet didn't really give Rosenoir a fair crack, not very fair to the guy after all that happened is it? I get that Warne was available which probably changed his thinking.

As for the 4 away games not scoring that isn't really a fair representation of the situation is it? We drew the Fleetwood and Shrewsbury games and when Warne came in our form dropped overall. We lost to Plymouth at home who went on to get promoted and the week before Rosenoir got released/sacked/sent to coventry we beat Wycombe 2-1 at home.

LR was interim/caretaker manager, Clowes hired PW and offered LR a coaching post at DCFC, LR turned this offer down, Clowes reasoning for not giving LR the managers job...he said "we have a duty of care" in other words DC didn't think LR was ready for the challenge.

    There was no sacking involved.

Semantics really, LR didn't have a full time contract because of the state of the club so they just kept a verbal rolling agreement. He was still the man in charge and would have had every reason to expect he'd at least have a chance of getting full time contract.

Didn't think he was ready for the challenge? After winning us way more points than anyone believed was possible with a completely stripped bare squad and a massive points deduction?

  3. We look at Hull's squad with envy now but the top 6 in the Champ is about as competitive as it gets, he's doing a good job there up against some big clubs with massive budgets. That is league is a big shift up in quality level from L1, Ipswich done well because they play good passing football with a high press and high energy levels. Invested a lot of money in that squad as well.

Kevin Hector at 70 odd would have done better than Collo tonight.

Every pass or cross sent in his direction tonight was nowhere near him or they read it like a book, prime Ronaldo could have been up there tonight would have made shag all difference.

In hindsight he's right, however few of us thought that at the time. I thought Clowes decision was correct at the time and for quite a while afterwards. Its this season really that I've changed my mind

I was against it when it was announced, he stuck with us through all those hard times kept us fighting then got dumped.

Warne for not the first time this season stating that they actively chose to bypass the midfield. In a game that we were looking to go top of the league against a team 4th from bottom.

Tactically clueless and utterly no faith in your central midfield players

Scared of playing football in L1 against a struggling side, this is a serious low in my time following the club. No dynamics and predictable play. We'd get battered if we went up.

  7. Final ball is genuinely shocking, same as weekend. We are absolutely toothless and it's all down to supply. Feels like last season where we just dropped off, hopefully Warne gets it sorted cause we look so poor going forward again.

Donkey? No. Unnecessarily error strewn, unintelligent positionally,  unable to learn from his mistakes and readily abdicated responsibility for them, yes.

Plenty of ability but frustratingly self destructive between the ears.

Prime Keogh was a good CB though, got us to playoff final being a donkey and had 6 clean sheets in a row making mistakes everywhere apparently. Amazing. Funny how for instance Buxton's error in the playoff final that lead to the ball getting to the box when it never should have is not spoken about. I don't remember Keogh ever abdicating responsibility for on the field mistakes but happy to change my mind if you provide a clip?

Actually my bad, it was 7 consecutive clean sheets.

I flagged this and got slated by the Kirchner blind faithers.  I was even accused of potentially be the cause of anyone who may comit suicide.  It was obvious from the off something wasnt right, yet he duped the EFL and Quantuma.....  Thank god he didn't pull it off....

    Is Kirschner still in prison?

  10. Thing is Young is one of those we never buy though isn't he? We can all see he's got potential, someone else will sign him for cheap then punt him on to a Champ club for 3-5m in a couple of years.

Oh definitely, it's clear there was an issue against Morris. But he didn't help himself and ultimately the club and fans were the ones to pay the price whilst he skipped off into the distance.

In the long term, in a weird way, it might be the making of your club again. Always expected Warne to be the right man, he knows what is needed to get out of this league, and his recruitment is coming together now, it was always going to take time.
At the level above? Who knows. Rotherham have continued to struggle to survive despite him going, so suggests it wasn't just him lacking in ability for the Championship.

I have my reservations about Warne's style and long term success but he's doing well at the moment, I am not sure if he always struggled to keep Rotherham up more because of the playing style or severely limiting budget. Maybe it was a combination of both. I think you might be right in the making of the club again but not sure Clowes will be the man to invest in it, hasn't really got the funds. Interesting times ahead for sure, big second half of the season for us!

I know it is, but that is the point I'm making. Even within restrictions and caps relating to the business plan, in comparison to what a lot of the rest of the league can pay, it is a hefty fee (happy to disagree on the definition of hefty haha!) alongside wages - which given Charlton are spending some dollar and have offered him new deals, must be a decent whack as well.

The fact you're in this league is a joke, and I know it is mostly all down to the decisions and dealings of a former owner, but it just really brings it home, how much damage that individuals can cause to football clubs who are the heartbeats of their local communities. Football should be able to be played out by results and performances on the pitch without the potential for owners to negatively impact things so much. Really hope they hurry up with this regulator and that it actually has some impact. The damage caused at so many clubs over the years has happened too many times.

EFl always hated Mel after he exposed how crap their TV deal is, they were determined to relegate us even after we won the independent tribunal. We got cheated out of the Prem by multiple FFP cheats but we didn't threaten anyone with court. But that's all in the past now thankfully mostly, once we get out of the business plan we can go back to being a normal club again.
