Leicester Ram reacted to ck- in Derby v Stevenage FC - Match Day Thread
Pay the same way regardless of how the game’s going: no plan B
Change the game to match the circumstances: doesn’t know his best formation.
He can’t win can he?
I took a long time to warm to Warne - I didn’t really like the David Brent like aspects of his interviews. But that seems to be happening less, and his interviews now are interesting to listen to with some real insight.
What I especially like is that he has fostered a never say die attitude amongst the players, and we seem to have a character that I’ve not seen in Derby teams for a while. We are able to recover from setbacks in a way that we haven’t in previous seasons. Lose a game? Pick ourselves up and win the next. Come up against a team of thugs? Stand toe to toe and then bring out the flash of skill to take the win
It’s not always pretty but I can usually find something to enjoy in a game.

Was he carrying a racquet of any sort?

That's a tad inconvenient. Can't he have the scan at some other time?

Leicester Ram reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Paul Warne
I have my own views on Warne but, and I know this sounds a little strange, why don’t we concentrate on what could be an extremely exciting end to the season, in many different ways, and try and enjoy it.
Managers come and managers go but promotion seasons, if this were to be one, don’t happen all that often, so let’s worry about injuries, formations and other results and enjoy the ride. ‘The rest is just pure journalistic speculation’.
Many years ago, at Sheff Utd away, just before Phil Gee scored, I remember news filtering through and the chant ‘Portsmouth are losing’ sung loudly from the away end. Memories. Just saying.

Leicester Ram reacted to Day in Paul Warne
The Paul Warne "Out Out" and "Pro" topics have been locked in favour of a single place for discussions.
This is it.
I would ask members to refrain from opening any further topics with in/out or similar in the title and continue to post their opinions in here, regardless of result/league position.

Well done Collo, well deserved…oh ‘Ang on a minute…

Leicester Ram reacted to MaltRam in Collins not everyone's favourite.
I went so far as to say he was, in terms of technical ability, the worst first choice striker we've ever had.
I'd be obliged to add that no first choice striker has ever worked harder.
On balance, I've grown to love him.

Contributing the form discussion. 16 games to go. Let’s look at the last 16. It’s pretty good reading

Leicester Ram reacted to Jourdan in Warne Out Out
I am sorry but how is us possibly getting promoted to the Championship under Warne in any way comparable to us getting promoted to the PL the previous time over 15 years ago?
In 2008, the board and the manager were reportedly at odds and the board were seemingly unwilling to invest in summer 2008 to improve the team sufficiently. We couldn’t compete with the other promoted sides never mind the 17 others. The step up to the PL was huge back then. Is the step up to the Championship really anywhere close to that?
Consider that Clowes appears to be nothing but in full support of Warne and consider that once the restrictions are lifted and with the additional revenue streams to follow from promotion, we’d be able to compete financially with anyone else who gets promoted and probably around 6-10 other Championship clubs as a fair estimate. Surely that’s a far better place to be in?
What’s there to stop us from improving and adapting to the Championship well? Not only footballing sides do it. Luton and Coventry did it. In fact, if you look at Wigan, Barnsley, Peterborough and Blackpool as recent reoccurrences, it’s footballing sides who more often tend to go back where they came from.
This fearmongering is outrageous.

Leicester Ram reacted to Jourdan in Charlton Athletic v Derby - Match Day Thread
This always looked like a massive trip hazard, so to grind out a win and keep a clean sheet should be a huge boost to Warne and the lads, especially given the results around us.
The line up looked questionable, so credit to Warne after a job well done. It was also great to see some of Warne’s signings being involved in a crucial win after the recruitment came under fire. Hopefully there’s more to come from Bradley, Ward, Adams and Vickers.
I was buzzing until my father-in-law took the celebratory drinks too far, ordered a £30 glass of whiskey, and didn’t flinch as I paid the bill. 😆

so many that hate warne and his style … and at its worse its god awful to watch.
but and its massive but….
look at the stats, tightest at the back in the league, away record that is seldom seen at our club and uv got a bunch of players there that are putting their bodies on the line for the full 90….. for our club and this manager that a small minority think the players hate playing for.
were doing the dogged stuff that wins games, were earning the right to win games. Its not pretty but its a style of play that others have succeeded with just not one weve become accustomed to over the last however many years
personally im loving the fact were a bunch of big hard f****** that if u going to get a result from youve got to be on it

Say what you want about Mel Morris but there is no way Mel would have let yesterday pass without signing a striker.

Leicester Ram reacted to Wolfie20 in January Reinforcements
No, I'm not having sensible comments like this.
It's one of the rules of the forum that when the transfer window comes around and we don't sign the player(s) a fellow poster wants (irrespective of whether we can afford said player(s) or not), we must stamp our feet and have a hissy fit!

Leicester Ram reacted to IlsonDerby in January Reinforcements
Disappointing to not get a striker in but to put some perspective on the window. Our squad is stronger than before it was open. We have another wide option to take the strain off NML. We have a combative horrible midfielder.
thats 2 out of the 3 targets fans all agreed we needed.
We also guaranteed decent money without going down the tribunal route for Bird without losing him and weakening the midfield.
I think the negative reaction is down to not getting a striker but if Wash is back training and Collins stays fit then we’ve got a striker with 18 goals + Warnes first choice striker as our 2 options.
Would have loved an Ennis or Smith to tide us over but they only became crucial because of an injury list.

Leicester Ram reacted to bimmerman in Max Bird - flew the coop to Bristol City, loaned to us to end of season
f*** me give the kid a bit of respect
Stuck by the club when it was properly properly s***, could have done a Buchanon or a Byrne but didnt
Time for him to move on.. No problem with that, he's earned a move. Going to see out the season so that he doesn't leave the club in a tougher spot for the rest of the season and gives some money and time for Clowes to get him replaced, good on him. Best of luck and hope he gets a big pay rise!

Leicester Ram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in January Reinforcements
It’s been the theme since Clowes took over.
The initial summer signings post admin were quite public as it seems a number of them were lined up by Rooney/Rosenior, the signings in Jan then seemed to come out the blue (as underwhelming as they were), the signings last summer were known to Big Trav but not the media or Twitterati from what I recall(?), and the CBT info only seems to have leaked from the Charlton side. Even the links to Smith and Gregory have come from local Sheffield journos.
As anxious as it seems to make the fan base in general I think I prefer it. Warne has maintained that bids were in for players, Adams has said himself this move was lined up a while ago, 2 players in on top of keeping the ones we had (so far 🤞).
Just a striker now please Santa Clowes 🙏

Leicester Ram reacted to Mckram in Ebou Adams - Signed on 3 year deal
Nah, he will just do a George Thorne and declare his love for Derby and refuse to play for Cardiff. There will be a stalemate between clubs but once it reaches 1,000 pages on here a deal will be made.
