And what if the administrators don't find a buyer, or the buyer is Alonso, or the sheikh, or the 3amigos, or their equivalent. Are you happy then? Are you happy to rely on the EFL to agree the type of owner we might like? Or what if it takes ages to sort out (sound familiar?) and the administrators are forced to sell players in January to keep us as a going concern? Are you happy then?
And don’t believe that the ground's owners will feel forced to lease the ground to us.  The land has value even without us in it.  What if they lease it to us for a year but then double the rental next year and again the year after? Are you happy then?
Administration is no quick and easy fix. It’s not designed to be a utopian solution. And neither should it be, in football or any other business.

Is a good point, though you do appear to be able to import (very) expensive European players and players from further afield to expensive clubs.
But, I wonder whether making it harder to import cheaper European players actually makes our academy more economically viable on the basis that younger UK players become even more valuable just because they are from the UK? Uefa regulations about the numbers of UK players in a squad help too - so Scott Carson and Lee Grant (and Grealish) have a value beyond their actual ability just because they are not European.

We’ve plenty of players to sell - Jozwiak, Knight, Bird, Shinnie, Lawrence, Bielik, the list goes on. At what price though because the administrators would be letting them go at cheap rates come January to get them off the books, bit like Byrne and Marshall.
And at what price does the ground get leased back to us? Maybe an unaffordable price for us, one that makes us nomadic perhaps. We could see if Leicester want us, or Coventry maybe. Notts County perhaps. That would work well.
We actually have done business in this window. Limited, yes; not all the players wanted in numbers and quality perhaps but to say that ‘nothing’ is happening is not true.
Administration is no panacea as we will find out if Mel decides that he’s really had enough. We’d better hope that he doesn’t.

So the young players and the Poles, we're not bothered about then. ? Oh and all the smaller firms that lose out when a club goes into admin. And we still have the footballing debts, you missed that bit.

He's a generous bloke, £1.2m for a robotic surgeon to Derby Hospital that helps the city, saved lives and pumped millions into the football club.
People can dissect his running of the club and they will, but honestly having talked to him on many occasions, he's a decent guy that does care.
I would receive calls just to check up how I was doing during my bad days with anxiety. Was hard to read that he was going through his own health issues.
I'll get hammered for this post but I'm gutted for the guy with how this is ending. Always will.
Won't ever feel comfortable reading people laying into him as a man, but accept that others haven't been as lucky I have to have been able to see that side of him.

I didn’t see your rant so can’t comment but comparing Mel to the Crooks that Maxwell and the 3 amigos were, is probably the most stupid, rude, insulting, ill informed comment I think I have ever seen on this forum.

Really ? Think about what you said there, it’s shameful.

You don’t know that. As I said in an earlier post, maybe they have agreed with the EFL that they’d make no further comment until the matter is resolved.

I hate the fact that we don’t know what is going on but I don’t believe for one minute it’s simply because the club don’t want to communicate.

It is true my sentiments are with Mel and the hysterical criticism he receives, most of which is hearsay, speculation and conjecture. A high percentage of the comments on here are crass and many time vulgar, given the amount of money he has pumped into the club I believe it is my duty to counter silly  comments about him and the club. Remember even Peter Sutcliffe had a defence team and all Mel has done is fund the club for many years, I also remember what was done and said to Lionel and how angry I was at his treatment by the fans.
Finally, I would say that about the mascot there is something not quite right about a man dressed as a sheep playing with children.

I appreciate this whole situation must be massively frustrating for any Derby fan, myself included.
However I have no idea of the discussions MM and the EFL are having. I also don't know how Mel is, or indeed what is driving his approach.
I understand that much of their discussion will be subject to NDAs.
So, whilst it is unpalatable for most of us that we don't know what might be going on behind the scenes, we must be patient and assume that those representing Derby County are acting in the best interests of the club.
Imagine if you were doing your level best for the club, working long hours to try to get the best resolution for the club, only to find on social media that you are incompetent, greedy, a disgrace etc.
All we can do, as supporters, is to support the players during this difficult period. After all, their effort and application have been laudable.

What is it with this fairly recent thing of saying “so” to start a sentence? It’s creeping in everywhere even on this forum.
on The Chase, Bradley Walsh asked a contestant what he did for a living. Answer was “ so, I’m  an IT  consultant”
and what would you do if you won some money “so, I’d like to travel.”

This really irritates me for no good reason but it’s up there with this modern usage of that much over used word “Absolutely”.
are you going out tonight? “Absolutely”  Grrrrrrrrrr!

There are times when you travel back from an away defeat full of gloom and despondency.  Not tonight.
I don't know whether our young players on show in Sheffield will turn into top class PL players, into top class Championship players or whether they will make a career in the lower leagues but tonight's performance brimmed with endeavour, movement, skill, hard work and commitment to the shirt.  They were more than deservedly ahead at half time and probably should have made more of a couple of good breakaways. It was one of the most encouraging halves of football that I have seen us have in several years.  Unsurprisingly they tired in the second, gave away two soft goals, could and probably should have scored at least one more, but kept their shape and the pattern of play right to the end.
If I were the manager I would be pleased and disappointed in equal measure - pleased at the display and the experience gained, pleased that most of the first team players didn't have to feature, pleased that the style of football he is developing is starting to bear fruit; disappointed that we're not still in the cup, disappointed that we gave away a possible winning position. I would also be worried that Jack Stretton looked to have a knock.
Well done to those Rams fans there - loud, vocal and supportive support.  Well done too to Fozzy for his all round captain's performance, to Hutchinson for his first half in particular and for Louie Sibley for his goal, restraint despite some vicious fouls against him (has he got the message?) and all round MOTM performance

In fairness to football clubs they’re not the only ones taking advantage of covid to accelerate the process of making their systems more efficient - how many GP surgeries now consult online or over the phone, cars are being sold and bought online without you leaving your armchair, more and more shops are cashless, businesses are encouraging staff to work from home so that they can have smaller offices, you pay restaurant bills via an app - and so the list goes on.
Some customers will vote with their feet, others will give up, most will adapt because they'll have to, either by learning new ways or by getting others to help. New businesses will develop to help fill in the gaps.  Twas ever thus.
