Personally, I think it's quite cool.  I'd love to have an open marriage where that sort of thing is not only allowed, but encouraged!
...Apart from the rash bit.  People with "That sort of rash" disgust me, quite frankly!

I agree.  The idea isn't a stupid one as the OP suggests - a stupid idea would be one undertaken without a reason and our manager has explained, again, why he wants the players to do it.
It doesn't work when they make a mistake in the execution of the plan and, as players of second division quality, they are more likely to make a mistake periodically than, say, international players. At least it's exciting.
Having said that, as Bobby Davison outlined on Radio Derby, there are other ways of achieving the same thing - essentially by kicking it over the back four, making them turn, go backwards and creating space between them and their midfield.  I thought I saw Roos do that yesterday too, and in other matches, as well as ping it out to Ebosele and Buchanan.
Sometimes what Kelle does works just fine; sometimes it doesn't. But he's a human being playing for a mid table second division team.  He'll make mistakes. And he'll make good saves too.

    Exactly.
Where are the four equivalent threads examining why Jason Knight failed to shoot first time when he had a great chance laid on a plate for him? Oh, but he played well the rest of the game and scored a goal too. (So did Kelle Roos and he made other decent stops.)
It really bugs me, this micro-analysis of every aspect of Roos' game. Allsop was getting it after only three games too.
    Obsession isn't healthy.

You're correct of course, when you think about it, it kind of makes sense. But.
Like some other sports, football (and primarily football administrators) are turning what is in essence a simple game into something unnecessarily complicated - the offside law, handball laws, VAR/use of technology, head injuries/stopping the game - being just four examples off the top of my head of where the authorities have messed with the rules and interpretations and made, IMO, the game worse.  I suspect that most fans, if asked, might rather there be a greater concentration on diving, time wasting or feigning injury as scourges of the modern game, never mind the role of agents and the overall influence of TV
Rugby Union is another sport where the rules have become so complex that the game as a spectacle is less than it was because those watching, especially live rather than on TV, have no idea what is happening. And football is going the same way.  At least refs are often mic'd up in Rugby for fans to hear, in the professional game anyway.
We, and the fans of increasing numbers of other clubs, should probably see our greater knowledge of stadium sales, amortisation and the rules around administration in similar light. The game's off pitch regulatory shambles reflects the paucity of quality football administrators generally, the excessive influence of money and a media (social and mainstream) that serves solely to wind we fans into an even greater frenzy in the chase for clicks

Do you really believe that a group of our first team players are now effectively going to stop trying for 29 matches just so they can get a move elsewhere? I don’t.
They’ll make mistakes as they’ve always done, they’ll miss chances, miss tackles, shots and headers and some will move on either in January or the summer, but the character of this squad and individuals within it, including Tom Lawrence and Nathan Byrne, will not be in question. There is nothing that we have seen so far this season to suggest anything else, from players or management team.

ilkleyram got a reaction from lrm14 in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Unless, of course, they go up.  And the signing of Andy Carroll (just before the points deduction was announced so they knew what was coming) was a statement that they haven't given up on that idea.  Carroll may not be the PL force he once promised to be, but if he keeps himself fit - a significant if on his recent record - he can certainly be a force in this league.  6 points are retrievable; 12 points probably not, and all they need to do is come 6th to give themselves a chance.
One of the many failings of the EFL is their total failure to come to any meaningful agreement with the PL about the financial impact and governance around teams moving between the two leagues. That's largely down to two things - the EFL's lack of foresight and imagination going back many years about the negative impact on equal competition of the money on offer (mainly prize money and parachute payments) and, secondly, their overall lack of comparative administrative competence.  Richard Scudamore and his team knocked them into a cocked hat and his successors continue to do so.
Unfortunately, for us and the majority of the 72 clubs that make up the EFL, that ship has long since sailed, much to the detriment of football as a whole
