angieram Posted November 2, 2021 Share Posted November 2, 2021 The weekend that football was called off for Covid we were due to attend a match at Forest Green Rovers. We were staying in Cirencester and had to rearrange our schedule, visiting local landmarks which were still open. We have finally got round to rebooking a match, for FGR v Colchester United during the November International break. Have booked a cottage near Malsmsbury. Unbelievably this match has now been called off, because the Us have "several" players on International duty. Who the hell for? Transylvania and The Vatican? This is League Two, for goodness sake! angieram Posted November 27, 2021 Author Share Posted November 27, 2021 (edited) Finally got to see a match at Forest Green Rovers today, after trying to get there since March 2020. We have become well known to the community team and went on an eco tour of the stadium prior to kick off. Built on the top of a hill and with a very open aspect, I can honestly say that it is the coldest I have ever felt at a match! Lots of talk about us playing them next season, they are very excited at the prospect of entertaining us and Sunderland! A few Derby fans will get a shock if we do - the bit you can see behind the teams is the away fans' area!!
