1Wildsmith - 5 (Cost us a goal by delaying coming out and then being reckless)

24Nyambe - 6 (Not much support in front of him, spotted this by going alone a couple of times)

7Barkhuizen - 5 (Seems to lack confidence)

35Nelson - 6

5Bradley - 5

6Cashin - 6 (Stopping putting square pegs in round holes)

2Wilson - 5 (Although Adams should be controlling the ball - why can't we pass to players with the ball staying on the deck - this is a real bugbear of mine)

12Smith - 6 (Battled well but ultimately not sure what he really offers - he is going to score and doesn't create)

17Sibley - 5 (Left wing, centre mid - all over the place - not his fault)

32Adams - 6 (Some good tackles, but should have done better with the pass to him)

27Blackett-Taylor - 6 (No real time, team don't seem to trust him yet)

11Méndez-Laing - 6 (Again - Always wants the ball to feet, never seems to run in behind much - thats easy to mark against)

8Bird 🐦 -  5 (Very soft, lost all his 50/50)

25Gayle - 6 (Pleasantly surprised with some of his hold up play but never threatened)

10Waghorn - 5 (No impact of any type)

Second game in a row now I couldn't give anyone a 7. Rather telling that.

1Wildsmith     2   Mistakes more than outweighed any good stuff he did.

24Nyambe   6.5  Did OK until injured, looked to attack 1st half, but KTS by Charlton

7Barkhuizen   4  Might as well not have bothered.

35Nelson   6.5  Didn't shirk confrontations playing with a bandage around his head, but got dragged around a bit 2nd half.

5Bradley   5.5 Got exposed for pace due to disorganisation infront of him.

6Cashin    6.5  Good headed goal, played well in an unfamiliar position.

2Wilson   6  Seemed a bit at sea at times, but did cause Charlton defence some tricky moments.

12Smith  7 MotM - substitution scuppered us. Hard to understand without an explanation from the manager.

17Sibley  5.5  Got on the ball enough, but struggled to do anything right.

32Adams  6  Better than at Barnsley, but constant assaults by Jones' thugs eventually took its toll.

27Blackett-Taylor   5.5  No time to do much. We need to start seeing why we signed him.

11Méndez-Laing  5  His worst game for DCFC? Struggled to do anything right but looked exhausted.

8Bird 🐦 6  Never gave up trying to create something and was doing 3 players work by the end.

25Gayle  6  Some good movement and touches, but needs better service where he can cause damage.

10Waghorn  5.5  Didn't make much impact, but not surprising after a long lay-off

The Team of Officlals 0, Zero, Zilch, Nada - another bunch that need binning. Completely derogated their duty of care and need for balance. Do they all go to the same Church as Jones? 😉

Manager 1 (for getting his shoes on the right way round)

Even in this game the players showed that they can play football and cut through defences. Why then revert to the utter, shambolic disorganised garbage that they reverted to. The players look confused, get in each others way and are almost zero threat to the opposition goal from open play.

The answer of course is with the manager and his clearly inept staff of coaches [sic]. I agree that we cannot move them on at this stage of the season, but promoted or not, they have to go at the seasons end.

My hope is that the owner has a big enough pair of balls be making the right moves. Sadly. I suspect not, the manager probably has him in his pocket.

1Wildsmith - 2 - shocking lapse of judgment, poor punches, poor kicking, didn't claim one first half when it was a high ball in his 6 yard box

24Nyambe - 5.5

7Barkhuizen - 4

35Nelson - 6.5

5Bradley - 2 - horrendous with a head with more points than Claude Davis. Has a turning circle of a sherman tank, gets rolled with ease and more bothered with shirt pulling than winning headers. This guy should be no where near our starting line up

6Cashin - 7 - asked to play in a dumb position, did his best, got a goal

2Wilson - 5

12Smith - 4

17Sibley - 4

32Adams - 5.5

27Blackett-Taylor - wasn't on long enough

11Méndez-Laing - 3

8Bird 🐦 - 4

25Gayle - 6

10Waghorn - 4

Sat with a very knowledgeable chap called Phil last night who had a South London accent - initially I thought him a Charlton fan in the Derby end - but he explained he’s a Derby fan from South London and was at the game with a load of Charlton fans (in the Charlton end) Anyhow, to quote Phil “The Charlton fans are genuinely puzzled why anyone would want him”.
Make of that what you will.

1Wildsmith.....awful decision to attempt a tackle after rushing from his goal     4.5

24Nyambe.....his absence would hurt us if injury is significant, did well     7

7Barkhuizen.....no impact from bench     5.5

35Nelson.....solid as always     6.5

5Bradley.....neck like a giraffe, turns like one at times     5.5

6Cashin.....did well at LB but he's a CB so hope to see him back there     7.5

2Wilson.....needs to improve the final ball     6

12Smith.....better than Hourihane     7

17Sibley.....didn't happen for him     5.5

32Adams.....what's not to like? Apart from his miscontrol for their second     7.5

27Blackett-Taylor.....is there a band called Half Josefzoon Half Pickering? I think there should be     5.5

11Méndez-Laing.....off key again     5

8Bird 🐦.....I thought he was better than other fans' comments suggest tbh     6.5

25Gayle.....a few nice touches but we could have the most lethal finisher up top and not find out about it for a few matches as we create nothing for our #9 usually     6.5

10Waghorn.....the touch of a player who hasn't played in months. And who had the touch of Martyn Waghorn when match fit     5.5

ATG

I tend to try and be objective and don't give player scores based on the result but there's some low ones on merit.

1Wildsmith -  4.....Didn't come for crosses. Made one good save and they scored from rebound. Penalty.....the momentum had already shifted significantly so wasn't the game-changing moment some have mentioned but what was he thinking?

24Nyambe - 6.5...... Personally, I was happy with a solid back 4 and think he did OK

7Barkhuizen - 4.5.....I like TB but he did very, very little

35Nelson - 6.5......OK. Not as physically dominating as usual

5Bradley - 5.5......de riguer to blame him and Hourihane for most things but don't think he was horrendous. Was somewhat out of position for their second but Doris Stokes couldn't have seen the shambles that led up to it coming.

6Cashin - 8..... MOTM by a mile

2Wilson - 5.5....Not his best outing. Originally thought his pass to Adams was terrible but, looking at highlights, it was OK..just negative

12Smith - 6.....on the face of it did OK and I thought he was decent without being massively involved. Someone said in the match thread they'd like to see his stats vs Hourihane against Barnsley. Both 61 mins...Smith last night 30 touches, 58% passing accuracy.....Hourihane vs Barnsley 61 touches, 74% passing accuracy .......but Smith was excellent when he came on vs Barnsley IMO. With Adams in there as a destroyer what to we want/need?

17Sibley - 4.....did very little

32Adams - 6......very much involved, defended very well. Point off for mis-controlling the pass that led to their 2nd. Could hear him kicking that post from back of west stand.

27Blackett-Taylor 5.......his body language at half time and when 'warming up' in the second half is a worry. It looks like either he doesn't want to be here or PW doesn't want him to be here

11Méndez-Laing - 5......only really came alive in last 10 mins

8Bird 🐦 - 6......very patchy. Good-ish first half. Disappeared for 20 mins and then came back into it in the last quarter

25Gayle - 6......some good signs. We looked better as a team in the first half from just having him there......and maybe his style made us try to play a bit more football.

10Waghorn - 4......did very little. A couple of first touches that were best watched through cracks in the fingers

ATG

1Wildsmith - 3 - poor distribution without Hourihane there to pick up the short ball, questionable long balls, and outright stupidity for the penalty

24Nyambe - 6.5 - could be a big injury, will be missed if so

7Barkhuizen - 5.5 - didn't notice him off the bench

35Nelson - 6.5 - solid as always

5Bradley - 5 - would have been a 6 bar the fault for their open play goal, stepped up almost as if marking Nelson to allow an easy pass past him, confusing positioning

6Cashin - 6.5 - solid in an unfamiliar position, why Warne is breaking up the Nelson-Cashin partnership god only knows

2Wilson - 5.5 - poor today, hardly beat his man

12Smith - 6.5 - much needed legs

17Sibley - 6 - not sure what position Warne was telling him to play, LB / LWB / LM / LW / CM ?? Can only be confusing being asked to switched positions every few minutes, what's the game plan?

32Adams - 6.5 - destroyer of worlds, noticeably involved, would have been a 7 (and MoM) bar his mistake for their goal, lots of passion however, can we sign him on a perm?

27Blackett-Taylor - 5.5 - didn't notice him off the bench

11Méndez-Laing - 5 - worst game in a Derby shirt, needs a rest

8Bird 🐦 - 5 - shirked out of every 50/50 that came his way, gone back to his old pre signing for Bristol self

25Gayle - 6 - not sure what he's meant to do in this team in the way Warne has us set up. Collins was there to win headers from the long balls and fouls in dangerous areas, not sure Gayle is the man for that (not a criticism of Gayle, but rather the failure of recruitment in Jan). But we looked more of a 'footballing' side with him in with some nice link up play through the middle.

10Waghorn - 5.5 - first game back post an injury with some very poor touches

That's not what they were saying on their forums, but of course that's only a snapshot opinion as is the guy you were sat with. Certainly, his reputation for defensive duties is poor, but allot of them were wailing about "how are we going to score any goals without him?" because he was their most creative player by far, so it's a very different take to what was said on their forums.

Whenever I see Waghorn try to control the football. my mind calls him leghorn) I remember the time I opened the fridge door and a 5 litre milk carton fell out, bounced onto my left-foot and then slid about 3-&-a-half feet across the kitchen floor, before IN SLOW-MO, disgorging the full caboodle of milk in consecutive glugs, turning the kitchen floor into a lake of milk. The fridge door opening is Waghorn’s leg and the milk carton the ball. The lake of milk is the resulting mess of football that results.

Yes indeed. Just reported what Phil said who was a very interesting and genuinely very knowledgeable Rams fan. I’m not trying to rubbish CBT prematurely - personally will rightly give him time to settle.

Wildsmith - 3 - Don't know what's gone wrong this season, mistake after mistake from the first game onwards. Would start Loach on Saturday.

Nyambe - 7 Game changed when he went off. If he's out for a long period of time we might as well call it a day

Nelson - 7 Fine

Bradley - 3 The experiment of shoe-horning him into a back 5 will cost us automatics. Makes Cashin and Nelson look worse as they are out of position. Can't pass, can't head, can't mark, can't run and turns like the millennium bridge. Wildsmith and Adams were more at fault for the goals but an average CB would have sniffed out the danger

Cashin - 7 Out of position but still played well

Wilson - 5 One of his worst games

Adams - 6 Poor for the second goal, not his best game

Bird - 4 Anonymous

Smith - 5 ok

NML - 5 - Did nothing except trip over the ball during our only attack in the second half

Gayle - 5 Clearly not fit yet, couple of nice touches

Waghorn 4 - Even as free signing I feel we have been ripped off.

CBT 4 - Anonymous

Management 2 - Not sure what was worse, the decision to play 5 at the back again or slow the games down after 40mins vs a team that hasn't won in months

1Wildsmith 4 rush of blood changed the game

24Nyambe 6 rock solid , shame he got injured

7Barkhuizen 4 contributed nothing, lightweight

35Nelson 7 consistently good

5Bradley 5 badly at fault for second goal

6Cashin 7 see Nelson

2Wilson 5 poor distribution

12Smith 6 missed him when he went off

17Sibley 4 awful control and passing, can do better

32Adams 5.5 a lot of ball winning but gave it straight back to many times

27Blackett-Taylor 5

11Méndez-Laing 4 looks knackered

8Bird 🐦 5 good 1st half , couldn’t stem the tide 2nd

25Gayle 6 some quality touches

10Waghorn 5 needs games

time for the players to stand up and be counted if they want promotion , their inability sometimes to do the basics tends to go under the radar with the constant bashing of the manager

Last word on the officials , probably the worst yet, enough said
