Eoghan1884 Posted July 21 Share Posted July 21 Seen QPR fans reckon Lyndon Dykes is going leave this summer and I’ve seen Blackburn are interested. Wouldn’t surprise me if we went for him, a very much Warne type striker and still only 28. He has 36 goals and 12 assists in 163 appearances for QPR but is a great target man and would suit us very well imo. Definitely would fit the criteria of proper number 9 Warne is looking for I really like him I do, was a right handful at Sunderland. Would be a massive risk though. He has not played for 16 months. Was on the bench for the play off final and didn't come on. Reading about him this morning, he did not play in Southampton's friendly the other day and their manager has said he is a couple of weeks away from being able to play. I think if he came back towards the end of the season and had a decent pre season behind him, unscathed, then yes. But if hes not able to play for another 2 weeks, following on from not playing for 16 months. He wont even be close to being match fit until October and with the length of time he has been out, there is a big chance he will probably pick up another injury. They've already spent over £10m - including £8m across just two players. £6m for a player already adored by their fans isn't against the realms of possibility. L1 SCMP rules are easy to avoid as an owner only has to inject more equity into the club to cover it. It also incldues 100% of 'football fortune' revenue (cup money, transfer revenue). 75% drops to 60% in L1.
