Only really Malia is the party resort. Stalis is really quiet, for couples and families. Hersonnissos appears to be a bit more cosmopolitan nowadays, with lots of Dutch, German and eastern European holiday makers. but that said, is still very orderly and civilised, with people sitting down in bars etc.

I will be visiting Stalis twice in 2024, once with some 40-50 year old mates to watch the first week of the Euros, and back in September with the missus. What I would say is that many places don't start their spruce and decorating until May, for June opening.

Ta, that's not a problem we're really going for a bit of a squizz around the archaeological sites and a bit of a paddle (maybe). We're not barflys any more, so AI or HB and a balcony, a view and a fridge for the booze from Lidl is fine. 🙂

Heronissos may be the place for you then.

They have got an argument club there, but as you are only there for a week, you may not have enough time to finish one 😀

Do you think there'll be some Rams fans around then? 😛 I've not even got a home shirt to go drinking in! #poorshow

After getting back from Tallinn where we spend Christmas, it's new year in the new pad in Carcassonne, Eindhoven in February, Lyon for Easter, Madrid in April, Bali in May, five weeks in Carcassonne in June / July and back there twice in September. That's it for now. 😏  Will try and get the Mrs drunk later though and talk her into some Italian interrailing in August.

Added a few more now. Santorini in August, Geneva in October, Carcassonne again in early June, October and December.

Just booked a few days in Rome in September, staying at Rome Times hotel.

Never been but always wanted to, plenty of time to compile that sightseeing list.

Great city - hopefully some of the crowds will have gone by September.

Uk and Europe trip just about booked, leave Brisbane 28 April, end up in Inverness then a 6 day hike leaving from Fort William. A few days floating around Scotland then a week in Dubrovnik and Split, flying back into Manchester. Staying in Belper for 12 days in King st above the fish bar then down to London for 4 days before flying back to Brisbane via Perth. 6 weeks all up.

Obviously being above Belper Chippy will be the highlight

Mate the highlight will be Gregg’s across the road and Poundland a couple of shops down the road, happy days!

... And the little crafter/makers shop ("The Cabin") just 131ft off King St (down Campbell St, which is dead opposite the Railway pub), if you'd be so kind.  😁

Perhaps consider a small purchase of a new fabric specs case, or even a purse etc, for you journey home.  Other fabric items are available from Muckerette's own little portion of the shop, plus lots of other tempting hand made items of all description, from the numerous other makers.

#hard sell
#blatant extortion
#are there any depths this guy wouldn't stoop to?
#what a f**kin' liberty
#etc.

If Wilkos hadn't closed you'd have completed the set.

I’d settle for a Spoons especially curry nights.

The Greenhouse up the road is the nearest thing in belper to a Spoons, sky sports, food, dancing and fighting of a weekend.

Would suit a Crocodile Dundee type of fella right down to the ground!  They may ask you to leave your Bowie knife at the door though?

Sounds like my sort of pub, I thought I kept the video of my dance skills clearing the floor at Jorrocks locked up.
