There's mortar you than meets the eye!
To a degree, that is A Level of pun never witnessed before on here.  So clever, I (Strongly!) suspect it would have passed most posters by!  It was a Major Honour to have read it, sir.

Well done, and thank you.

Funnily enough Forest Green Rovers players are Vegan, I believe. There is some evidence of recovering from injuries quicker as a result.

And yes, they sell Vegan burgers etc.

The one thing you missed was to replace PP with a wooden construction - perhaps that is part of DC's 'bigger picture' (?)l

I bet they all go through the McDonald’s drive thru on the way home after training and matches

I remember Dean Sturridge crashing his car on a Friday night and the report advised he'd been to get a Chinese takeaway.   Months wage fine incoming .  Worse still, it transpired in court that he was on 10k a goal and nobody else was, after interest from Boro and Arsenal that summer.  Think that seriously damaged his form and the team spirit at the club.

  • Remove alcohol, fizzy drinks, burgers, pies and chips from the concourses, replace with water and salads.
  • Advise fans to bring their own reusable water bottle, plate and cutlery as we are reducing plastic usage at the club.
  • Replace the team bus with an electric one with vegan friendly interior.
  • Only allow electric cars in the stadium car parks.
  • Pride Park to be run 100% off solar power, which will mean winter games must be played during daylight hours only. Ticket office hours may also be reduced.
  • All players will be fed a strict vegan diet.
  • Kits and boots must be manufactured in the UK and wash bags brought into the stadium must be vegan friendly.
  • No advertising anywhere around the stadium for gambling, junk food, fizzy drinks, alcohol, online shopping, video games, crypto currency. Car manufacturers can only advertise their electric cars.
  • Ban the use of mobile phones inside and around the stadium.
  • No pre season tours outside of the UK unless travelling through the Euro Tunnel on our electric team bus.

Not forgetting when advertising all this garb...the printers use ethically sourced materials for said Banners, Hoardings, Bill Boards, Season Ticket holders and Cards, Served by vegan only personnel on the concourse, All Men must have their Willy's checked for any enlargements which is against the Bible..."Man should not enhance himself for the pleasure of a Woman", Women must...well ?

Yes, perhaps ?

I think gambling is a particular problem, though.  Like smoking. It uses sport to essentially create addiction (and then deny it).  To be fair, shirt sponsorship is the tip of the iceberg, and less pervasive than other mediums. and I don't think we need to act unilaterally, but the point is it is extremely problematic.

Betting advertising until 2009 was limited to the simple display of odds without commentary.  Now we have mascots, usually foxes, and it is everywhere and easy - and being associated with the club makes it a almost part of the community thing to bet with (i.e. 32 Red).  We can't afford to turn down money, but I do hope in the case of betting people at least consider alternatives.

All addictions are problems, look at obesity in the UK, we’re loading food and drinks with sugar and salt. Where are the healthy options in football stadiums?

You could argue you don’t have to eat at the match, likewise you don’t have to gamble, when you have an addiction it’s hard not to. So Breakfast, dinner before you go out, slam in a burger or pie with chips outside, down a few pints, back home for more food. That 2000 calories a day is long gone.

Just don’t understand why the gambling addiction is singled out more than the rest, I understand the link to sport however even if the government were to ban shirt sponsorships, I would guess the impact would be minimal.

You have Sky Sports including betting odds in their articles, they have sections in their Saturday programme to reel off the best odds, other news outlets partner with gambling companies to display odds. Social media advertising for all kinds of gambling, bingo, casinos.

Go to the pub and you see fruit machines flashing away in the corner, seaside resorts parents getting kids stuffing 2p’s in machines hoping to get more back, isn’t that gambling? Then you have video games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, FIFA all containing loot boxes.

Unless they are going to ban the entire gambling industry in the UK, I don’t see why football clubs should turn the money down for a simple logo on the shirt. If we go down the morally wrong path, let’s go back to the list I created whilst very much tongue in cheek, where do you draw the line?

I like many beers at games, and in general, but recently have been trying to cut down.

Whilst avoiding events or situations, you often hear, 'just come and have one'

I'm curious, and this is a question to people that, 'just have one beer'

Is there any real point in having one beer? When you've drunk up there's no real difference to your physical or mental state and you paid £5 for the privilege.

One is more than enough for me! Sometimes I have a half. I can feel that I have had even that.

If you genuinely can't tell any difference after one pint, you probably need to cut back a bit. ?

Then we'd be Forest Green Rovers!

Just to add on to this, just a sample of the numbers being reported.

400 deaths per year related to gambling.
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/dec/04/bereaved-families-demand-investigation-of-every-uk-gambling-linked-suicide

https://www.gamblingwithlives.org

55,000 children addicted to gambling
https://www.gamblingwithlives.org

Around 31,000 deaths per year linked to obesity.
https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/news-from-the-bhf/news-archive/2021/april/31000-heart-and-circulatory-deaths-obesity-each-year

28% of the adult population are obese, with 36.2% overweight.

(Aware I could be potentially taking this wildly off topic, however thought it was important to show the numbers)

Both are s***, it's just much easier to prevent gambling. Reducing obesity is incredibly difficult.

You are the owner of Forest Green Rovers and I claim my £5.
