There are weeks when we might lose ground on reading before we gain ground. If that’s not the case, then what’s the point in all these stats, we could safely say we’ll be ahead of them inside 2 games. Reading won’t go all season without winning another game, and we won’t go all season without losing another game.

This weekend could have easily been a weekend when we lost ground. So the fact that we didn’t is a bonus.

It is a bonus, and considering our recent form ( 1 win in 5) it's fortunate that we are still in the mix. However we have to improve quickly, and we would need to win the majority of our home games and get a fair few away draws, to get to something like 42 points. What the other clubs in the relegation fight do is out of our control, except when we play them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Interesting run of games coming up  - Derby 2 tricky games away against top 4 sides - then 3 games that we could well win - im confident we can get some points from the 2 away games as there will be pressure on those sides at the top as well, going for automatic promotion and keeping in that top 6. I love our last 3 games, you could see us winning them all.

Reading have 3 tricky games coming up against sides in and around the top 6. Then a huge pressure game away to Barnsley.

Peterborough look cooked - but as we know it only takes a couple of wins to get back in the mix, tricky game away.

Barnsley were woeful yesterday but have 3 home games coming up - will be interesting to see how they bounce back.

Imagine the scenario...Reading lose next 2 and we win ours...it could happen - you would think Barnsley would beat Bristol C but struggle away at sheff utd. Likewise Peterborough could beat Swansea at home then lose to QPR...

Massive week ahead..we could be out of the bottom 3 ?

Trouble is, I've been imagining that scenerio for the last few weeks now and we're running out of games for it to happen. We're getting to the stage of the season now, where strange results happen and luck and referees' decisions can make all the difference. Saturday could have been so different if we'd had Barnsley's ref, or maybe not.

Maybe the refs have been poor but 1 goal in 5 away matches and one of poorest away results in the league... probably in our recently history ? I expect a change of personnel (ok not much to work with) or formation for Blackburn for anything to change. Not good enough away from home and we will be relegated without any massive change in this. Players have shown good fight this season though so don’t want to be too negative. Just expected a bit more on the road !
