The owners of Watford are ruthless, what do they expect really.

‘Win the champions league in 10 months or your sacked.’

‘but boss, we’ve got to qualify first. Surely you can’t be serious.’

‘you heard me. And don’t call me Shirley.’

One Of Radio Derby's questions for mel was whether he had been too quick to change managers. He cited Forest as an example of clubs that do that more, but Watford even more so. And Dawes reply .. but Forest are not in adminstration really just disproves the point Dawes was trying to make.. changing managers did not cause administration.  Watford even  get promotion after sacking their manager as often as I change my socks.

It’s the Italian model. Any sign of discontent and the manager is gone.

In Serie A this season, two managers have been sacked after two games!

Brentford and Brighton have both had excellent starts to the season, which has probably forced Watford’s hand.

7 points from 7 probably wouldn’t seem so bad if not for that.

The trouble is that they have got 1 point from 12 v Wolves and Newcastle at home and Brighton and Leeds away - all teams they would be expected to reasonably compete with.

Used to laugh, but it's worked for them, spent more time in the Premier League than us in recent years. Usually get it right and gives them a lift. You would imagine they are smart enough to include a small compensation in the contracts.
