Welcome to the Championship. Wisdom - 9 Someone needed to step up to the plate when Clarke went off, and Andre did. Excellent defensive performance capped by the winning goal. Edmundsen - 8 Really impressed - having not played of late, thrown in for a first start against (other than Rotherham) the last team you'd want to be up against in this situation, but he dealt with it really well, looked composed and had a couple of good runs forward. Maybe he's used to playing this sort of football in the Scottish PL, I couldn't comment, but he looked at home. Forsyth - 6 Score draw against McLeary, got forward once or twice Waghorn - 5 Gets an extra point for his assists, but otherwise yet another performance where he doesn't contribute going forward Shinnie - 6 Worked incredibly hard to get around the midfield but passing was off Knight - 5 Not quite on it, needed more drive forward with the ball Jozwiak - 4 Standard Gregory - 4 Couldn't get into the game at all CKR - 6 Did what CKR does, but starved of any service for most of the game and got no protection from the ref. May do better against a team which is not full of thugs, but disappointing last night. Wisdom 8 - a very good performance, but even he gave the ball away too many times Edmundson 6 - stepped in pretty well and good to see him driving forward in Keogh-stylee. Forsyth - 6 - didn't have too much to do as Wycombe were targeting Mengi's side, but contributed virtually nothing going forward Waghorn - 6 - been treated very harshly in this thread. His set pieces have improved no end and were fundamental to our win. Shinnie - 6 - worked very hard as usual, but bullied and the ref did him no favours Knight - 5 - as for Shinnie above, but his challenge for the penalty was uncharacteristically naive. Jozwiak - 6 - made lots of runs, but there was a complete lack of understanding with Mengi which was understandable as they had not played together, and Fozzy offered little support on the left. Had Byrne and Buchanan been selected from the start, we would have offered a lot more down both flanks and both Waggy and Joz's contributions would have been more effective. Gregory - 5 - largely marked out of the game, unable to get free and generally ineffective against Wycombe's style of play CKR - 5 - worked tirelessly and won the ball a lot, but messed up two of our best chances. Nicked the ball from Joz's feet and missed an open goal from three yards. Was no doubt very relieved when Wis scored the winner. Disappointing not to see Clarke (10), Byrne (9), Buchanan (8) and Roberts (7) included in the list. Woodley Ram Posted February 17, 2021 Share Posted February 17, 2021 Marshall 8 - Excellent, kept us in the game Mengi 5 - hard first start, didn't get close enough to the winger, lots of potential Wisdom 7 - extra point for goal, played well Edmundsen 6- hard to be thrown in with little game time, like that he is happy to bomb forward Forsyth 6 - in and out of the game but saw quality when gets forward Waghorn 7 - one of his better games recently and hit the post Shinnie 7 - Shinniesta always biting at their heals, had to fight and it didn't always go his way Knight 6 - Quiet game, in and out Jozwiak 6 - some bright moments but not enough, need an end product Gregory 6 - difficult against big defenders, not as much space as against Middlesbrough CKR 6 - ditto Gregory, could have given him a 7 but he has had better games Buchannan 7 - made a difference when he came on Bryne 7 - love this guy, he made us look a lot more dangerous when he came on Roberts 7- He could be the great signing on the window, he looked dangerous Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
