Much as I liked them both bogle and lowe were extremely frustrating to watch at times last season ( as were many i know). For example: I always found it extremely strange that Lowe was thrown in with Bogle as a good attacking fullback that struggled to defend. Lowe wasn't an attacking fullback in my opinion, other than being tidy on the ball, he wasn't someone who would try and take on a man and get a cross in a box. He's also very dominant in duals when someone is running at him, he wins as many of those duals as Andre Wisdom. He lacked the aerial ability but he was extremely good at winning the ball when the ball was on the floor. The numbers back that opinion up, yet the general opinion is that he's an attacking fullback that struggles to defend. I think with Byrne, we will very much get a player with a great engine who won't look out of place. I think there will inevitably be questions over his defensive part of the game. I do think we should have a conversation with Wigan about players we could loan them (with a loan fee involved) we must have youngsters that would benefit from being with them as well as others such as Flojo that would help them out. Clearly Bogle had or has potential to far surpass it but Byrne is an excellent championship RB.
