We haven’t even really got a player now that we’re certain is best played at RB. I guess Byrne is within our budget so is a sensible move. Ambitious Posted September 10, 2020 Share Posted September 10, 2020 I'm pleasantly surprised by this - I didn't expect us to sign another RB. I think he offers a great option as a RWB more so than RB based on what I've seen. He looks to be a cheaper version of Bogle, albeit he looks to be a better carrier of the football than Bogle but a weaker defender. Bogle also looks to be the better crosser of the ball out of the two. Byrne is better playing longer passes, Bogle is better with shorter passes. Byrne seems to be a much more aggressive defender too. The only real red flag that I've seen with Byrne is that when he's got someone running at him, he only wins the dual 60% of the time. That is significant. More important than the accolade of the fans. It's a reflection of his influence, effort, commitment and passion and impact on the people around him.
