Brad Jones (AUS)

Isak Ssewankambo (SWE)

Claude Davis (JAM)

Martin Albrechtsen (DEN)

Jay McEveley (SCO)

Andrejs Pereplotkins (LAT)

Connor Doyle (USA)

Blessing Kaku (NIG)

Laurent Robert (FRA)

Gianfanco Labarthe Tomé (PER)

Dean Moxey (ENG)

Going with a diamond here. With Kaku protecting the back four, Doyle can really express himself behind the dynamic front two of Moxey and Labarthe Tome. The combination of Peruvian flair and Devonshire grit up front will be a lot of opposition defences to handle, especially with McEveley overlapping Robert down the left flank.

Love the use of Moxey in his favoured centre forward slot. If only Clough had carried on with that experiment.

This is ageist against my generation, we ain’t seen nothing but Scots since 2000. Our last foreign scout probably resigned in 1998

What do you mean? We had legend of the game Raul Albentosa.

It was a tough call. Asanovic is quite possibly the best player I’ve ever seen in a Derby shirt though. I know it was only for one season, but he was outstanding. A better player than Stimac for me, although I loved Igor.

Stimac was the heartbeat of TBE's side, him and Van Der Laan drove us forward and upwards  in 95/96.

Asanovic was great player but Stimac was great player and a ringleader.

After filtering through some of the 'dodgier' signings in my lifetime, the best XI doesn't look half bad!

GK. Mart Poom (EST)
RB. Jacob Laursen (DEN)
CB. Igor Stimac (CRO)
CB. Horacio Carbonari (ARG)
LB. Stefan Schnoor (GER)
CM. Rory Delap (IRE)
CM. Wayne Rooney (ENG) - I know he's only been with us since January, but come on! It's Wayne ducking Rooney in a Derby shirt!
AM. Stefano Eranio (ITA)
AM. Georgi Kinkladze (GEO)
AM. Robin van der Laan (NED)
ST. Chris Martin (SCO) - Had his critics, but he's still the only one of Derby's top 20 goalscorers to have played in my lifetime

It'd never work, but the thought of Eranio, Hughes, Asanovic and Kinkladze on the pitch at the same time makes me a little moist. We'd never score but there's no way the other team would ever see the ball......

This bamford here is the defining moment that got us relegated under Gregory.  Everton at home - Two free kicks I would have saved put Everton out of reach and kick started Bolton who looked doomed . We could have saved ourselves that day.
