Billy Sharp

Honestly, wouldn't be opposed to it. It's only a loan, no youngsters in his position are ready to step up, Marriott is made of glass and Waggy can't finish. Sharp has got a strikers instinct, and whilst he wouldn't get the same service as he did last year with Sheff Utd, if he'd been given the chances Marriott wasted the other day he would have taken them.

Kind of makes sense. We need a goal scorer.short term fix.he can play the lone striker well unlike wags and Marriott but has more pace and will press better from the front unlike when martin plays.as much as his goals are important its his high press that i think we need.

Most of billy sharps goals were scored in league one.

53 for sunny over 2 seasons 2005-07 , and 51 for sheff Utd over 2 seasons ten years later.

in the championship.....

Between 8 and 10 years ago he scored 49 over 3 seasons in the championship for donny and Southampton  (average 16)

then 21 over the next 4 seasons for forest, Reading, donny and leeds (average 5)

Over the last two seasons in the championship he scored 36 in a team that was good enough to secure automatic promotion with 89 points. Finishing second. (Average 18)

he is 34 in feb

he has started one game this season in a 0-2 home defeat to Newcastle.

there is no doubt billy Sharp was a good player in the past, particularly at league 1 level but now?.......500k in wages for what?

Part of the reason they were good enough for promotion was that they had Sharp playing up front.
