Hi all, Please see the below from the family of Angie who sadly passed away last month. I knew Angie personally through Derby and was ever present at home and away games. Whether we took 200 on Tuesday nights under Clough, she was always there. Her commitment and support to our club was second to none. She will be deeply missed by all those that know her and this lady deserves the round of the applause on the 69th minute. Hopefully she will be looking down on us and giving us that support we need. Our much loved Mum, Wife and massive Derby Fan Angie Vallance passed away recently. Angie travelled home and away to follow the mighty Rams for 25+years. She was well know to many and we would like to pay tribute to her. To coincide with Black and White day and with such a massive, important game on Saturday 16th March V Bolton we would like to try and get our amazing fans to pay tribute to Angie in the stadium with a minutes applause on 69th Minute, the age she passed. Please could you help us publicise this so we can give her a lovely tribute in the week of her funeral. Again thanks to all of the football family you have all been amazing, your love and support has been such a comfort at this incredibly difficult time. Thanks in advance

Morning all Been a while since anything like this has been attempted and with a sell out expected its now time to turn it on and do our part. Its been on the socials so spreading the word on here. So bring your scarves and your flags. Lets make it a sea of black and white come Saturday. There will be some new flags being surfed in the South Stand and the plan is to get some of the bigger flags on poles in there as well. Really is over to us now to make a difference so voices required from all stands as well in what is a huge game.

Hahaha thank you mate! Yeah it can be but all worth it. Still the largest flag in the country that travels away from home the most.

I think for the issues that I have raised over the years they have come to fruition. See below.. Fan Park Additional South Stand bar outside (this was in profit after literally 2 weeks!!) - and looks really good now. Safe Standing Football special train! Been banging on about this for years that EMR and the club need to liaise with each other so football fans can benefit. The first one being Lincoln away. I am still peeved about the issue that was Wycombe at home. It is a kick in the teeth to the SCG in my opinion as if we were consulted one post that would have been on here would have been that.

That's fine mate 🙂 So Rail seats are the model pretty much all in Europe and in a section at Wolves & all of Celtic. They replace the seats. These rail seats are locked so you cannot sit down. Only unlocked (by club with an key) for a game where standing is not permitted (which used to be Uefa games). This was the model that was first on the market and English clubs haven't taken it up due to costs. They would still have a rail in front of you. Going forward the rail seat model would allow a 1.5 or 1.7 ratio like they have in Germany (you still have your allocated space). This is not possible with the normal seats we have. This isn't to say that our 'stands' can accommodate this extra increase and I was under no illusion that this would be permitted in England to start with but down the line it would offer an alternative especially for any new stadiums that would be built. Hope that explains it.

Been around for many years, surprised you have never heard of it considering there has been so much consultation with the SCG over the supporters board - all detailed in every press release by the club surrounding the board. It could have been in a video though in which case you may have missed it. Generally all minutes from the SCG meetings are posted on here as well or have been over the years. You dont vote for a member of the SCG. When it was setup its prime goal was to try and get as much representation as possible so groups such as Ramstrust, Punjabi Rams, Supporters Club, Disabled Rams, BWAT etc etc and a few singletons like myself. If you have a specific question you would like to raise so you feel represented then easy to join any of the groups and put it out there. @angieramcan also advise. Feel free to DM me as well and happy to raise something at the next meeting. Before this you had @Davidat the meetings who represented the forum and he would often put a thread out asking for questions to raise etc. It by no means represents every supporter as that is just impossible. Its just a go to between the club and fans at best as has in my opinion been successful over the years.

Only in an area towards the away fans, no where else. This is nothing new and is a small area and is where the previous checks took place some weeks ago. I agree but as we all know its fairly simple to go up your correct gangway and then move across over the seats.

Well I did it for 16 years on a daily basis and going through airport security there is only 1 check of your boarding pass so I get what you are getting at.. Actually thinking about, more checks to watch a game of football with a rail than getting on an aircraft. Crazy world we live in.

Absolutely important! 😉 End of the day the SCG is there to make things better for us all. Its a liaison between the club and fanbase as much as possible. Not everyone is represented but as much as possible.

Owen, For the record its been a long 12 years since I brought Jon and the Safe Standing Roadshow to the Navigation Pub who presented the safe standing rail seats so yep its been a very long and overdue campaign to get to this stage. Fast forward and we are not quite there with it as we have barriers, granted its a start but it's not rail seats like what Wolves / Celtic have or pretty much every European Club with it. I understand the cost implications though and of course the cheaper option to pass the required checks was needed. What more do I want the club to do? Interesting question and something I will be raising at the next SCG meeting. Personally feel that this was something that could and should have been raised within the group for feedback and opinion to how best to assist and portray the message. This is what the club wanted so interesting to note it was ignored this time around. I wasn't personally affected and my annoyance was more at the other fans who felt it and received quite a few messages that night. Pretty much every supporter in there is a long standing season ticket holder in there from Day 1 and you could clearly see that they were annoyed. It was an overkill and excessive and from speaking to stewards prior to the game it was clear that the message to them was nothing but pressure to get it right. Which begs the question, get what right exactly? Nothing has changed but a rail in front of the same allocated seat that a fan has had for many years. No one had moved seats and no message was ever out there that because there is now a rail its a free for all. Granted we have a problem with migration but every club has that and checks were in place in a specific area over the past few games but this was the whole stand. I understand that certain checks have to be made for a certificate to be issued but I also have the opinion that these decisions are made without a voice of a football fan who then experiences it. I would love to understand how long these checks will be in place for and how long other clubs with rail seats had the checks in place - i.e Liverpool we had no checks in the Cup. Cardiff in the league we had no checks. I guess my issue is with the SCGA as it always has been now for years. Decisions made upstairs if you like. A bit like non slip foil only being used at Pride Park but normal foil is okay 30 miles down the road at the City Ground. Or a large flag allowed in one ground but not another etc etc I am not digging at your communication, you know I would never do that. I am digging at the reasonings and decisions made prior to your communications.

Not everyone has the time to watch a video.. There was no separate message out there.. The checks were excessive. Bottom of the stand and then walk up the stairs for another check and another at the top if you were at back. Communication poor, again.

Huge overkill. I am very disappointed I or fellow SCG members were not consulted on this. For a start this is exactly what the SCG is setup for. If it was the case i would have given my input and posted on the socials (including here) to let everyone know what the plan was whether or not i agreed with it. Pretty much an own goal but we learn I guess.

Might be an idea to educate yourself on what safe standing areas are fella. And besides if anyone goes in the South Stand expecting to sit then call them out for clearly being an away fan. If safe standing was around at Hillsborough it wouldn't have happened. That's a fact. Following my trip to Hannover for filming i spent some good time with the SLO there. Actually more injuries in the seated areas than standing. So yeah, much safer in the standing areas.

Thought i would add my 2 pence in and a little bit of a backdrop particularly for those new members.. Ironically my Facebook memories remind me that 12 years ago we organised for Jon Darch from the safe standing roadshow to come down to the Portland Hotel to showcase 'rail seats'. It was a very well attended night including many local councillors and MP's. Fast forward some 10 years plus and we finally have safe standing at Pride Park. Please remember that Derby County were the 2nd English club behind Aston Villa to go public on this at a time when it was a huge battle and clubs would just not publically do this. I went over to Hannover a year or so later and we did a promo video on the rail seats. This is one of the videos - featured Wayne who is a top guy and also well known for being the Peterborough Rabbit mascot. He was prepared to go on video and back the campaign. This was at the time of the Hillsborough disaster still being rather fresh as well with the campaign for further inquires etc. He was the most high profile person in football to go public. Top man. Sam Rush and Co continued to back the campaign as did Mel Morris although his motives were very much how many more can I get in the stadium for his pop concerts lol! Yes we all remember that stadium video showcase! So finally we will see safe standing at Derby. Not the rail seats that were campaigned for but rails. Its a start I guess and of course the cheaper option which also ticks many of the health and safety boxes. Its been a very long 12 years with governments battles along the way. Should not have taken this long thats for sure. Guess we will see what the future holds...... Cough Rail Seats!

I genuinely love the guy. Offers us something completely different with his movement. Makes it all the more sillier why some fans felt the need to cheer when he got subbed off at Stevenage despite scoring that goal against Exeter. A very good workhorse signing.
