Are we officially safe from being dragged into a relegation battle now then?

I agree, play offs would be a massive (and unlikely) bonus and a decent cup run would be fun but, just because we've won two home games against poor opposition doesn't mean we can breath a sign of relief just yet. (New years resolution - to be even more of a miserable old so and so).

No, miserable old so and so ?

Of course we're not safe from being dragged into a relegation battle, however I personally believe it is unlikely, as do the other optimists on this forum! ?

If we play our cards right this window, I think we'll be in a much much better position come start of march.

Can see Cocu ringing the changes. We’ve just played 2 in 4 days and this will be the 3rd match in 6 days. CB only position we may need to keep players in.

Roos

Bogle Davies Fozzy Malone

Bielik Hudds

FloJo Lawrence Whittaker

Martin

                      Roos

Wisdom  Davies  Clarke  Lowe

                Huddlestone

        Holmes            Sibley

                    Rooney

          Waghorn  Marriott

Roos needs to be re-integrated, find a way to boost his confidence, we may need him at some point.

Back 4 remains the same, Clarke needs minutes for fitness, best to form some partnerships.

Bird and Knight get a rest - they'll be needed next week in the league!

Rooney, Waghorn and Marriott need to improve their sharpness and cohesiveness as a unit.

Subs to include Whittaker, Archie Brown, Trialist

I'll be annoyed if we deliberately chuck this one by playing a reserve team. We're miles off the play offs, what is the point in concentrating on the league? Good cup runs really lifted the team last season.

Agreed. But He thinks long term. 2nd string side - betcha.

Totally agree. Not only played 2 games in 4 days but one of those was with 10 men for 85 mins.

Now that the team are starting to fire, I think Palace should be seen as an opportunity for the dropped players to put on a display. Suspect Bielik and Lawrence will be particularly motivated after seeing what how well the midfield has done in their absence.

My only change to your team would be Sibley starting instead of Whittaker.

I'd be for resting a few tbh given the load in recent days, as mentioned by others

Rooney looked seriously short of fitness against barnsley so would play him again

Roos

Bogle, Davies, Clarke, malone

bielik, Rooney, shinnie or hudds if either fit

Lawrence, Martin, Whittaker

Will be mainly 2nd choice team would keep a few in including Hamer good to keep keepers playing! Cocu won’t be too bothered about this one won’t want us getting anymore injuries

We playing 12 men because Lawrence doesn’t count, or because Malone will be sent off within 5 minutes?

*TRAVEL HELP*

Anyone wondering about getting across London.

If you hop on the Victoria Line to Victoria Station, you change there for a southern Rail service...

"...and for 38 minutes you'll be on that train to Palace. PALACE? WHO THE duck ARE PALACE?"

Victoria Line to Brixton and Bus to Palace might work better??
