People should actually listen to what the BCFC chap has to say!

Lots of players had bad moments but Forsyth didn’t really have more than others it’s a case of people remembering what they choose to

£3 million for a championship left back in the last year of their contract is absolutely nuts - this does seem like agent stirring stuff and Bristol wanting an auction right now as by Christmas you will be talking £500,000 at best

It's not remembering what people choose to at all , it's remembering what you see . It's more a case of people now looking at him through rose tinted glasses due to previous seasons.

He was in a defence that had a tremendous amount of clean sheets last season - I respect your view but I don’t share it. I have no problem with Forsyth moving on if he gets replaced by a better player I won’t mind but consistently that’s not easy

Why are we even looking at left backs? I find it utterly baffling. All we've done since the emergence of Lowe from the academy is put up barrier after barrier for him to smash down to get into the first team. Don't get me wrong, I don't think academy players should just be afforded a first team place without earning it, but having aced pre season I don't really see what more Lowe can do. Add to this the fact that we still have two other perfectly competent specialist left backs in the squad, strengthening this area of the team looks completely redundant.

Is Lowe really ready to start week in week out, can he be relied on when he seems to be injury prone?

As for the other 2, Forsyth has had 2 serious injuries and simply isn't good enough. Olsson is out with a bad injury and also out of contract next summer so can't see him playing again for us.

Can see this happening if Forsyth is likely to leave.

Wisdom + Bryan as first choice with Bogle + Lowe as backups to me is the perfect scenario.

Completely agree. If Forsyth were to leave it would make sense to sign another left back, but Bryan wouldn't be coming in to sit on the bench so it would mean halting Lowe's progress

Neither "randy" nor "bum" has quite the slang connotation in the US as it has here. Hence it is possible for someone named Randy Bumgardner to be the White House's Assistant Chief of Protocol without being required to change his name.

We’ve got four left backs on our books. All good enough for Championship football. Don’t think this guy is much of an upgrade on that.

Wouldnt waste my time buying unless we off loaded at least two of them.

Lowe’s been fantastic. Give him a chance.

I understand everyones concerns about Lowe not developing but look at City in the Prem last year, they signed Mendy/Walker/Danilo for £130 million also had Delph and Zinchenco that could play in that role. All of them had regular game time and impressed last season, Lowe will get his chances to play over 46 games and so will Bryan. Competition for places makes the squad better and full back will be key for us this season as it was for City last with full backs being part of our attacks. Lowe and wisdom already showing this in preseason. I think in Lowe/Wisdom/Bogle/Bryan we would have really strong depth there. I'd imagine Fozzy will be off.

Just to be clear I am not comparing Derby to Manchester City only pointing out what worked for them so well last year and suggesting Frank may be looking at that. Hopefully we can do a deal

Joe Bryan isn't an upgrade? really? he is a fantastic left back. I wouldn't loan a LB or buy a squad one but this is a big upgrade on what we have. If he had a long contract he would be 8 or 9 million.

We will never know if Lowe is ready or not if we don't give him the opportunity to prove it. The guy is 21 now, we may as well release him if we feel his injury problems are so bad that we can't trust him to stay fit.

Fair point on Olsson's injury. I'd forgotten about that. I suppose that may leave us a little short, but Anya can fill it at left back too.
