This forum is hilarious. In the very unlikely event Winnall was truly at Derby Station in a knee brace it can't possibly be because of a serious injury. If that were the case he'd be somewhere being looked after by the best surgeons in the world, and chauffered between hospitals.

Yes he took a knock and it didn't look good so there's a chance he'll miss the Norwich game, but he'll be back for Leeds (obviously can't play against the Wendies anyway).

Sam Winnall is one of many players at the Rams who really WANT to play for Derby County.

Going back to the Wendies would really upset him.

His real problem is that his fellow players are IMPROVING.

He has to get better, even to be a viable substitute.

Everyone whose contract goes beyond the end of the season will get more money if they stay.

He has yet to get a permanent contract. from the Rams.

Going back to the Wendies who are in decline is abad idea for him. Getting seriously injured would represent a very serious setback to his career.

True. It's as unlikely as my ex-wife's cousin's claim to have seen the Queen in Woolworths.

If we Winnall the games, we are in the Prem.

Sam for Villa, probably.

brace

Sam has scored a brace on two occasions this season, maybe it was one of those.

Obviously he uses those braces to keep his trousers up.

Surely we must brace ourselves for eventualities like this.

Difficult to believe that Gary Rowett has not got this type of situation covered.

Gary Rowett has reduced management to a very simple level.

Get rid of extra players

Make room for U23s to train with first team

Sign older, hardworking professionals who want to win another promotion

Drop out of form players

Concentrate on team balance

Ignore what our rivals are doing

No public criticism of players, money available etc

Double the workrate of all players

Play strikers for 60 minutes, replace two or three strikers with players desperate to make an impression

Make sure that every player knows exactly what to do when we are not in possession.

Play ugly/roughly if necessary

Control the game, win it or at a push, draw it.

Exude confidence throughout the Club

Once all of this is in place and everyone understands it, spend your time looking for player upgrades to do exactly the same as the players they will replace.

I always held the view that Alex Ferguson did very little but keep an eye on things and sign better players. How to play was ingrained in everyone at the Club.

We may get pipped by Aston Villa if they remain unbeaten till end of the season but the Rams will not even have a blip

We will probably get 32 points at least from16 matches but it may not be enough if Villa do what Burnley did a couple of years ago.

P16 W9 D5 L2 or P16 W10 D2 L4

I cannot see us losing 4 games

Hopefully/Ideally P16 W11 D4 L1 - 37 points

Unlucky for Sam - he was a good loan signing and scored some important goals - wish him well.

But we're well covered. Nuge & CamJam up top. If they both get injured then Vyds up top with Palmer/Lawrence in behind. If Vyds gets injured then, well sometimes you just have to bow down to bad luck.
