Bald Eagle's Barmy Army
Glen Whelan would be like John Eustace all over again. I miss John Eustace
thekingofbuxton
Villa will have a big squad of high earning players. They arent all going to play every week, thats for sure (cue the usual Ross Mcormack debate - loan to replace Ince ?) If they manage the weight of expectation from their crowd and owner then they'll do very well in my opinion. Easier said than done mind you, Newcastle did it last season though. Rample
Say what you want about Villa' s signings but they're trying something different to last year and it could well pay off. Keep Terry fit, add Whelan and you've got a solid and committed spine. Sort out a best xi to fit around them and they could fly. They've already got a couple of potential 20 goal strikers and a lot of players who have done it in the past at this level. Could be very difficult to break the top 2 or 3 at all this season. Papahet
No idea where he'd fit in the Villa 11 Lansbury, Hourihane, Jedinak, Sanchez, Thisbola, Veretout, Bjarnson.... They can't be far off FFP, nobody seems to be making way for these incomings.

Struggle to see how they're going to keep Jedinak, Hourihane, Jedinak and Whelan happy.

Even more eye-watering when you find out Agbonlahor was their highest earner on £60k and he hardly played! Can't imagine that wage bill is going down either with, as you say, no one going out the door and signings such as Terry (who I read is on £100k) and Whelan etc.
Dimmu
Cheeky bid for Jedinak would be awesome. If they sell him great. If they don't, nothing wrong causing some unrest to our rivals.

They can lose £61m combined over 3 seasons even if they don't go up this year compared to our 39m. Plus they will be getting parachute payments to soften the blow, think that's around £41m for last season...

As Mckram points out they can lose more money than us anyway due to the way FFP works, they still get 10s of millions in parachute payments and they also happen to have one of the largest attendances and fan bases in the Championship with only Sunderland having the ability to beat them in that regard. Still eye watering.
