Paul Clement...

At times like this, I would post the 'one free internet' pic, but Photobucket is currently down for maintenance. Consequently, you will have to settle for the fall-back, which is basically that Daveo buys you a beer.

They've been chasing Clement for some time now; I believe that he was their first choice before Advocaat came in but turned them down because he didn't want to leave Real mid-season.

It sounds like we're some way down the line with regards to talks, but if Sunderland push as hard as us then they will get him. I'd guess that he's not accepted or signed anything just yet.

Is it too late to get Schteve back?

Big Sam for Sunderland, his kind of job and unfinished business in the North East. Fear not, Clement will be at Moor Farm Monday morning

Theres a guy called Billy with unfinished business in the east midlands .........

Put little bets on Warburton and Dyche before the odds drop.

Allardyce was adamant he was taking a break from management and Sunderland have always really wanted Clement.

I would still prefer McClaren to any of the three. Clement is clearly in demand. Presumably Sunderland can afford to pay rather more than we can. And they're already in the prem.

It looks as if the longer we go without announcing Clement, the less likely it is we'll get him.

If we don't get Clement solely because we didn't want to dig deep enough in our pockets the board should be issued with a load of brollies because they will have proven themselves to be completely inept. They would have known what Clemaent was earning in Madrid and that other clubs would be interested in signing him.The club backed Mac with loan signings and did make money available. Now they are talking about the next step ,not wanting to trust Steve with money for the new season ,all big talk but am not seeing the cash being flashed 2 mill for a manager who they believe to be capable of taking us up and keeping us there sounds cheap. With the present squad and recent performances a manager under the scrutiny and pressure of succeeding in a season will surely be wanting £15 mill possibly more to develop a squad capable of quick promotion .Dead leg ,has been ,experienced past it players that no Premiership club wants aren't going to solve problems and create a quick fix. Surely we want players presently proving themselves with the ability to continue and develop hopefully within the club and become an asset rather than an ageing liability, yes these players cost money but an example of this is Ince who could in the next few years should he continue to develop increase in value considerably.Weve heard Big Sam with his non information pr speech ,Now let's see some action ,stop treating the fans like unintelligent nobodies start showing us a little respect ,be alittle more honest and walk the walk

There'e an old saying" those who pay the piper call the tune", It was a big gamble to get rid of Steve and it the board are willing to pay out the amounts of cash to bank roll and take the club forward I am sure they want to succeed as much if not more than the fans.

Clement might not wish to come to Derby if he has the option of Premier League football elsewhere.

If it's assumed that he would go to Sunderland just because they're in the PL, then why did he rule himself out of the QPR, Newcastle and West Brom jobs in the last 6 months?

From how he has talked recently, finding the right club is more important to him than what league it's in. He's already stated he would be happy to take a Championship job.

Let's not write him off just yet.

Christsake, he's gone from never heard of him to gutted he's not coming in a few days, or worse get lost you greedy sod, or even worse get the chequebook out and make sure he's ours before the saviour is poached by someone else.

We had Nigels replacement lined up before we got rid, and we'll have Mac's replacement signed and sealed too.
