Ambitious got a reaction from LeedsCityRam in Mel put us in Administration because......
Mel made it sound like him putting us in administration was the best thing for the club. He really had the confidence to own up infront of the supporters and say that the best thing for Derby County Football Club was him putting us in administration.
No, the best thing for the football club would be him paying the debts of the football club and to find an agreement with the EFL. The best thing for him was to put us in administration, therefore taking the workload and liability away from him.
As it stands, we've incurred an additional -12 point deduction on top of anything else that we may pick up and seemingly something that could run for a few more years yet. Another story ran over night thinks we're due to receive a -21 (potentially another 3) this season. With a further 15 point deduction next year. We've also got a transfer embargo for two years.
We know that Buchanan, Bird, Sibley and Knight will be sold. I'm not too concerned about that as I think it's great they're getting out of this mess as they genuinely have a career and a lot of potential. As a Derby fan, I wouldn't want the club to be a weight around these young lad's neck and become the reason they didn't fulfill their potential.
Mel is the worst chairman this club has ever had, he's leaving the club in the worst mess its ever been in - arguably up their with one of the worst messes of any club in the history of the sport. A club without a stadium, which he owns, potentially soon without training facilities huge point deductions with severe transfer embargos that could sink the club into the League Two - similar to Bolton. I think they still own their stadium(?) although I'm not sure.
But.... he's doing it for us. What a truly wonderful guy!

I don't think there's much chance of that lot being true. If by some chance it is, and we face several seasons of points deductions and embargoes, it will be hard to maintain interest. Personally, I would rather we started again in the Conference North and were at least competitive again.

It's more of a preference, for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly sure it's not completely accurate. I'm just saying as a hypothetical that I'd much rather have a phoenix team than a side plagued by financial restrictions and roughly 70 point penalties over the next 4-5 years.
    I'd imagine most people would.

If that's the case then surely liquidate the club and start again?
I'd imagine there is a bigger apatite from fans over a new phoenix club than there would be for the above scenario. It's not even remotely close for me. Hit the reset button and start again for me.

As I just replied in another post, -5, 10pts from safety, that could be 7 by the end of the day. That's not a write off.
If they slap the other 9 on then yeah, that becomes a task that would be too much.
Hopefully the admin process can be completed by January by which point Bielik and CKR will be back.
I just don't believe that right now, as of today this season is over, and I hope the players share that belief.
As for Rooney's wages again, it came from the Sun, DET rehashed it, credited the Sun. I just have a hard time believing they would have the figures of his contract.

Stoke are a good team. I'd imagine they will be close to the play-offs, if not in them, this season.

We have only won twice in our last 22 games, though. It's not like we were unlucky not to win in any of the games we've played this season. The draws we've got have been fairly reflective of the game.
55/56 points is a hell of an ask. I genuinely think if we took a nine point deduction we would need an additional 10 games on everyone else to secure survival. I have no doubt it would absolutely kill us, not to mention the head's of players would go.

Not at -9, which I'd imagine puts us comfortably at the bottom of the league and with next to no chance of staying up.
I think even -6 would see us down. Negotiate to -3 and put it to bed with my approval. Otherwise, we've wasted millions and months arguing for nothing. I think -12 was worst case anyway, all that time and money for barely any benefit... I'd continue to fight it until the numbers show we are absolutely in the wrong.

Doesn't work like that, does it? We can't just wipe the slate clean. Accounts need to be published, debts need to be paid.
The numbers are either going to show us in breach or not. Either way, it's clear Morris and Pearce have shown themselves to be absolutely incompetent. It really annoys me that a bunch of honest pros and kids have been left to pick up the pieces. Birmingham still had a lot of the players that they breached FFP with in their team. The players we pushed the boat out with have been gone for a long time.
    Awful situation.

9 points kills us. I’m going to see what the accounts fall out at, because the way I’ve read it - we are still being punished for amortisation and we have to restate the accounts.
A 9 (+3) point deduction, IF our accounts prove to within P&S, is absolute baalocks. If we’ve broken P&S then just take the point deduction. We have supposedly republished our accounts, it would be nice to see what the result is… I really don’t care at this point. I just want to see the numbers.

For £4,500.00-a-week in this day and age, he's an absolute star of a player - as is Jagielka.
He's a steady player at this level, but remember that steady players at this level demand £15k-a-week with bonuses on top.

Yeah, we are a disgustingly poor team at this level so when we play WBA it’s like Norwich vs Man City.
A draw is such a good result, because we shouldn’t be competing against these sides. An indictment of where we are as a club, but also… really… doesn’t make it any less enjoyable.
As I said after the Huddersfield game, we are going to have plenty of games where we have a bucket list of issues to moan about. The games where we don’t lose need to be appreciated as much as we possibly can.

Disappointed. We did enough to win that by at least three goals. West Brom should count themselves very lucky they caught us on an off day.
