Also what good signings Gary Micklewhite and Geraint Williams were and we didn't overpay from QPR and Bristol Rovers respectively unless I'm mistaken.

What we'd do for a striker like Dean Saunders now....... his partnership with Goddard was the best I've ever seen at DCFC and although Harford was a good tough old CF he never replaced Goddard for me

Arthur will be 82 on the 14th December, we play Blackpool at home on the 11th, Someone at the club should organise a early Birthday pressie for him and make him the honourable matchday guest.

Prevented chants of ‘Cox out’ as well which would have been both heartbreaking and funny at the same time.
Cox’s team will always be my Derby County, travelling all over the country watching his bunch of warriors. What a great time that was. Phil Gee through Burridge’s legs, George Williams scrapping on the goal line at Stoke, Bobby…always Bobby.
They were the days when new signings actually improved the team. Chandler to Callaghan, McClaren to Gregory, Davison to Saunders, Hindmarch to Wright, Wallington to Shilton… you could go on.

I agree. Let’s have more Cox. Something this forum manages to do on a daily basis so why not @Owen87ITK. A 5 part series is definitely called for. Didn’t Radio Derby do a big feature with him a couple for years ago? Sure they did. Remember his Wallington playing at Ipswich with a broken finger/hand story.
    Great days.

It's no worse than it used to be years ago,  it just gets picked up more now.
Fans sang about the Cleveland child abuse back in the 80's and it wasn't that long ago where a player parents were accused of washing elephants and being a whore.
Fans have sang about the Munich disaster and about Turks carrying knives.
It's always happened and always will and Derby fans are no better or worse than any others.

His last stint was when he took over from Nigel Pearson when we were the lowest scorers in England and Scotland.
The Reading loss was the season after we set several club records. Yeah the season ended badly but still was in the Play Offs until the last day.
I'm assuming you're saying Nigel was a terrible manager then if he had a great team and couldn't get us to win more than we lost in a season?
He didn't leave to go to Newcastle. He said he was going to stay and then was sacked. Then went to Newcastle.
Unlike some other managers who did jump ship at the first chance. Or a manager that knew he was jumping ship at the first chance but didn't have the decency to tell us before Pre Season and all our players were flying to America.

I've stayed fairly quiet on my opinion of Mel Morris until now.
He's taken a club, OUR club, from having: a relatively low Championship wage bill; an exciting brand of football and decent future prospects in 2014-15 and ruined it in 7 years. We had a decent team and ended up throwing money around (that we didn't need to!) on bang average players and inexperienced managers (I'm thinking mainly Clement here) who didn't have a clue; then tried finding loopholes around how much we were spending! Now we're in administration, will end up having to 'sell the family silver', staff will lose their jobs and we'll be lucky to have a club this time next year by the sounds of it.
Anyone who knows me will know how much DCFC means to me (and I'm guessing many of you on here are in similar position) I'm gutted... absolutely gutted... and MM deserves everything the fans sling at him tomorrow ?

I feel sorry for those of you who have sky sports, having to listen to that load of inane drivel and eulogising over the ordinary bang average crap from both teams.

Birmingham were well organised at the back, pressed us well and had someone who could take a long throw. Listening to Sky you’d think we had been watching The Dutch in 1974.
’Do you think Rooney will be disappointed?’….Jesus wept.

I get why Rooney wants to play out from the back. Going long isn't really an option when you've got a small striker upfront on his own against a back 3. Baldock plays on the shoulder.
But he offers us nothing really. In his defence I'm not sure it would make much of a difference who plays up front because we lack so much creativity it's frightening.
The first goal. Can't really legislate for it. Buchanan hasn't looked. He's passed it to where he thinks Davies is then he's looked as he's passed it. Roos does well initially. But then flapped at the second bit.
I get what people say when they say Morrison is our best player. He probably is. But I still want to see more from him. Sitting deep in midfield spraying a couple of decent passes around looks nice, but it's not really getting us anywhere. I really don't understand why we are playing 2 CDMs in Bird and Shinnie and Morrison is so deep too. Would love to see him further forward. Where his passes could be more effective.
I've said this a million times, but we need so much more from Lawrence. I honestly think he's best position is upfront. He's not a winger, he offers nothing in midfield. Not really sure where he's playing at the minute.
We are crying out for wingers, Sibley isn't one, Lawrence isn't one. They are what we have as width. Supported by the full backs.
Finally, and please don't think I'm scapegoating. Cos I'm not. I've been saying this since Lampard is here and this isn't just based on tonight.
But Kelle Roos is not now and never will be good enough to be number one.
Kicking is poor, use of the ball is poor. He takes so long on it, it's frightening. It's almost like he thinks nobody is there and he can take as long as he needs. Peterborough game he almost cost us. Tonight he had an awful touch and still took his time after.
He will make the odd good save in a game but then he'll concede with something that he should save. That Forest goal, he should save. Im not saying the second goal tonight was a clanger or a massive mistake. But he should do better for me.
Everytime the ball comes into the box in the air he looks nervous, which will run through to the defenders.
The blokes a liability. A good goalkeeper will save you 10 points a season. A bad one will cost you.
Our best keeper isn't even in the squad. It's like Scott Carson all over again.
Marshall is here, we're paying his wages. Just play him.
This season is going to be very similar to how last season finished. I think we'll struggle to score more than one in a game playing like this. Infact there won't be many times we do score more than one in a game this season.

Not everyone was in the DLF or intentionally looking for trouble! I mentioned Bradford simply because it was a very scary experience being on the receiving end of chunks of concrete raining down with no cover, not glorifying in throwing them back. Football in the 70s and 80s was in a very different place and situations like this on away days were almost unavoidable. If you wanted to follow your team home and away every week you knew what to expect, knew the risks and took your chance. The only safe option was to stay at home and for many of us this was simply not an option, the adrenaline rush was part of the day

Chelsea did the same...but threw them on their own fans below on the terracing, Leeds in their game threw the seats at us as we were on the terracing, Derby lads climbing up onto the barbed wire and into the Ossie seats to get a little retrebution, Which they did.
Mike Waterson said after that game "we have our own Lunatic Fringe" well Mike look what you started ?

Sat in the main stand at Anfield with two mates the night Shilts played a blinder in a 4-0 defeat so not much to shout about though we  did smile when Barnes scored direct from an indirect free kick and the rams fans celebrated it being disallowed. We'd been sussed on the way in having been followed from the away end by scouses telling us they 'friggin hate Derby' and seeing as there were old ladies in there who'd stab you for 50p I decided there was no way we were going out at full time so we made our way down the stand and over the wall  and began to walk down the touchline, nobody seemed to be bothered until a rather large copper asked us where were we going told him we were Derby and he put us in the away end and then went on  to get a load of good natured abuse from our lot for being rather large! Following season went to Old Trafford with a manc mate sat above the away terrace it wasnt a goal that gave me away but Steve Bruce trying to decapitate Dean Saunders up i jumps' Bruce you dirty blah blah blah'  thinking fast on his feet my mate shouts in his thick manc accent 'yeah  Brucey no need for that' and I just about got away with it.sat on my hands for our 2 goals though! The mate who got us the freebies for Anfield through work also occasionally got free home tickets but they were always in the ossie middle with the away fans he was in there when Leeds wrecked it a rather polite yorkshireman said'come on mate give us your seat'and went on to kick his seat off and lob it!Been in with the dogs a few times at there place but nowt much happened
