And willing to talk about personal issues in an honest and very genuine way. Good to have a manager who does not speak in cliches

Q went out of their way to praise him. DC is doing the same. Says a lot
I suspect Pearce regretted not pushing back against MM’s wilder ideas. Though if he had pushed back, he’d surely have been out on his ear.

Well, he nailed sone obvious key points. Which was a fecking relief! The lack of players at peak age, the need to move the ball fast, to improve at set pieces, get more crosses to strikers, to run more and the absolute necessity of access to good black coffee. I thinknhe noticed we only have a kid for right back and kids fir back up strikers too but didn't want to say it aloud.
Referring to yourself as a comedian is a bit David Brent.

So Chelsea will have to pay us compensation in two years time?

How could he have sorted out the mess if he'd walked? He can't do both.
He did stick around, he appears to be the one who led the loyal staff team through the administration, and he is now determined to prove himself at the same club. That must take guts.

really? Running on and off the ball is one of Sibley’s best attributes. If Warne likes a trier, he will love Sibley.

Yes the change may not be ideal for Sibley. This season we’ve not seen the energy on the pitch that we saw last year (for a few reasons, including a different balance between age and youth and also (to give him some credit) loss of Rooney’s motivational skills). Warne likes runners and will be wanting energy to balance the more silky players (Bird, Hourihane and McGoldrick). Not sure that plays in Sibley’s favour ...

For the last 12+ months Stephen Pearce has had to endure a torrence of abuse.
The one thing that sticks out for me is that he didn't just walk away from the mess MM made. He's stuck around to see the club get back on its feet, he's just got on with doing what needed to be done even though a big proportion of the support was singing his name to be removed from the club and he's now openly said he wants to stay and see the club be successful.
I think it's time we stop any abuse towards him and see him for what he actually is. He seems a good guy with our interests at heart and if we are to become a force again, he wants to be right behind us steering the ship.
MM must have been a nightmare to work with so for him to stay at the club during those years must say a lot about SP and what he thinks of DCFC.
Time we cut him some slack and probably appreciate what he's been through to get the club back to where it is now.

I find it quite touching that my posts are cyber stalked, when you think that they're not being read then is reassuring to know when I receive the sarcastic laughing emoji reaction on a periodic basis.
You've got the upgrade though of an animated gif so should feel honoured.

Honestly, being trolled by you on this forum is like being attacked in the park by a blind, 16 year old demented Chihuahua that’s lost its sense of smell. How can you kick it away without hurting it ?
Butt into someone else’s conversation if you want but at least read it and do your best to understand it. That’s not much to ask
Some questions for you (buddy, mate, pal, feller, whichever daily-mail-inspired salutation you prefer):
- do you know what ‘flipping’ means, to anyone who works in real estate ?
- do you understand why it’s relevant that DC’s comment on his likely tenure as owner was in response to a direct question (errr which needed somehow to be answered) ?
Your great buddy, pal and mate, that lovely fella brailsford ram promised us in one of his constabulary sermons that DC would ‘flip’ the club. That’s not what I’m suggesting. (And he shows no sign of doing that, by the way.) I’m suggesting instead that he begins to get altitude sickness in the championship and - as the fans’ inevitable clamour for promotion to the PL reaches a crescendo - he gets a nosebleed; and that he’s got the good sense to get out whilst the going’s good. (But he might keep the stadium, oooooh !!! )
It’s just opinion my dear friend. It’s what forums are for. If you disagree, just say why. And, oh, I might be wrong ?

PS If you can muster a reply, I’d like iambic pentameter please

The conversation would be something like this.
DC...You're Paul Warne aren't you
PW...Yes
DC...Fancy a 4 year deal working for me at Derby County
PW...I'll have some of that.
DC...Sign here.
PW...Done, When do you want me to start.
DC...Once we've found out what your philosophy and playing style is all about.

Loved that Derby team - and even more after Todd joined - but it’s testament to Clough’s brilliance that they humbled that ManU line up.

kevinhectoring got a reaction from Jourdan in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
In the top two divisions this is an obviously true statement, at least since refs began to protect players from thuggery. But is it a correct statement for the third tier ? Where too many players don’t have the quality for it to work?
on this topic, DC is of course wanting to see us promoted. (I think his ideal will be to sell the club when we go up, not least because he’s conscious of the risk involved in club ownership.) When he interviewed Paul W for the job, his first question might have been : “can you get this group of players promoted ?” Not sure the question : “can you promise me and my fellow fans attractive free flowing football ?” would even be on the agenda

Always utterly professional and industrious on the pitch and had lots of talent. Very rarely gave the ball away and at his best a stunning crosser of the ball. Wish him well despite his disappointing views on TUPE (blame the agents and lawyers)

kevinhectoring reacted to Miggins in What does day hold when Derby aren’t playing
Me too, Kevin. I have mine in two weeks time and have cleared my diary for the next 4 days. Last time I had one jab in my left arm, one in my right and I couldn't sleep on either side for a week. I just felt as though I had a mild attack of flu and had to stay in bed for two days. Not looking forward to the next one.

Fitness is one of only two factors stopping me being selected for the Rams- the other is I'm crap at playing football.
