Jubbs reacted to IslandExile in Can the moaners and wringers please stay at home
Please can those on the pitch during the game - especially those in a white shirt - play some entertaining football.
Thank you.

Jubbs reacted to IslandExile in So who would we have then?
Is that the same Graham Potter reputedly being considered to take over from Ten Hag at Manchester United?
If so, we'd better get in quick with an offer of all the Jaffa cakes he can eat.

Ah yes, the statistical metric xG is subjective yet your 'eyes' and opinion on football are not. That makes perfect sense.

Buckingham was Assistant Manager of Stoke U21s. He was also a youth player at Reading and Oxford.

But what is safe? Hiring a manager with 3 promotions from this level?
Ipswich with McKenna. Plymouth with Schumacher. I think the sport is changing. If you think about it, if you can attract someone “proven” at the level you are playing at you have to wonder why a) they would come to you and not be looking for better and b) why no one better wants them.

This is where a DoF would have this knowledge and look into that recruitment of a manager.
Here are my picks for someone that perhaps isn't the "easy" appointment.
Aaron Danks - as @Ghost of Clough mentioned,
Steve Round - don't think this needs explaining.
Des Buckingham - doing really well for Mumbai City (within the City Group) who was a former Oxford coach with Wilder, attractive style.
Stephen Bradley - Shamrock Rovers manager, linked with League 1 clubs consistently.
Justin Cochrane - Head of academy coaching for Brentford, highly rated having had former roles with England and Man Utd.

Paul Warne spoke to BBC Radio Derby after the 0-0 draw with Exeter:
"I thought we played well. We've had a good couple of days on the grass. If Collo sticks one in on 90+5 we all go home delighted."
There, I've saved you 95 mins.

He's doing well there. Vitesse weren't very good at all before he joined so it was always a difficult job, his main aim was safety which he managed quite easily in the end. I imagine they also have ownership issues as their owner (or former, not sure) is a Russian oligarch. Won last 5/7 of the season including a 1-0 win away at champions Feyenoord.

Jubbs reacted to Nuwtfly in Will Clowes patience soon run out?
I don’t know how I feel about Warne staying/going but the football is absolutely dire and has been for ages. The players look miserable and the majority of the fans seem to come away either angry, dejected or let down.
Starting to think that this just isn’t working and isn’t going to and that there’s not much point giving it any more time.

Jubbs reacted to Bald Eagle's Barmy Army in Warne Out Out
Giving him a 4 year contract was criminal. With that being one of Clowes first big decisions to make when taking over, kinda worries me a lot.
If he doesn't act fast though, the vultures will start circling around the owner.

Jubbs reacted to Kernow in Warne Out Out
If our budget for next season was £2mil, hypothetically, then I’d rather spend £1.5m of that getting rid of Warne & have a new bloke with 500k, rather than Warne with £2mil.
The season isn’t a write off, we can still easily make the top 6. I think that only happens if he goes.

What would it take for you to think Warne needs to go? Surely it can't get any worse than what it is now for you to think he's not suited for DCFC.

I think it’s just a case of him being the wrong fit for this club. Happens to players and it happens to managers.
I wish him well but if he has any integrity, he’ll go.

Due to the weather and potential state of the pitch, I'm mentally preparing myself for the ball spending a lot of time in the air tomorrow. I couldn't think of many worse conditions to face Shrewsbury away, so it'll be a tough match.
