Sibley finally gets a start! And it only took every other attacker at the club getting injured to make it happen!

Even though it was a foul. And having the ball belted at you twice from close range is enough to make you ask the ref what he is faffing about at.

I understand how you feel but the strange thing for me is enjoying looking at the younger players developing. Knight last season … you watched him become a man. I saw Festy in a youth game … looked ok 18-20 months ago but now !!!! And Watson … such promise. So this keeps me interested. The only thing that’s making my head drop somewhat is the lack of goals. You need the “fix” that a ballooning net gives you. …… No pressure Jack and Louie ?

Good luck with the attempt at getting a refund - when it became apparent that they'd made such a pig's backside of sorting out tickets for the first game I emailed them asking how I should go about requesting a refund of my ST money (that they've clung onto for the past 18 months) - I'm still waiting for a response....
Back in the dark days of the early to mid 80s (High Court, etc) I used to follow the team around the country; I've had a season ticket for the past 36 years; sat in the same seat at PP since the day it opened - and yet it seems that there's no-one in the club that gives a stuff about the people that make the club what it is.....combine that with the other crap that now surrounds professinal football in general and I'm right on the edge of walking away for good. It certainly seems that Derby County don't care about me - not sure why I should continue to care about them.....

I think you have one aspect spot on. There are comments that people are fairweather and not going/renewing because we are performing badly or half fans and as you say that is so not that for many. I think it is really sad that many who have gone through bad times with us before seem to not be renewing for the reasons you say. Many are the lifeblood of the club putting up with so much rubbish over the years but this is different.

Decided not to go again until Rooney, and Morris, have gone. Can't be bothered with the complete shambles and embarrassment on and off the pitch. Had a season ticket for 20 years, and this isn't about being bad, I've seen us be bad plenty of times. This is in no way a slight at the young lads, I support them as they're doing they best they can being lead by an inept manager. Collectively though, they've killed my love for attending games. I'll return in future.

I declined a ST refund and continued to pay my direct debit all the way through but still haven’t been this season.
The club only has its self to blame, I will be going Saturday but if I am honest not really that bothered.
Why do I feel like this? A number of reasons I guess which I would imagine are fairly standard across the board.
I’ve kept my money in the club but don’t feel valued still, the communication has been poor. Ringing in to ask questions was dreadful, literally getting cut off so far down the line, that actually makes you feel like the clubs going bust in itself.
I do know a few people inside the club, they say it’s a mess and has been for some time, whilst they don’t know major details or inside news they also feel undervalued.
MM’s battle with the EFL has ruined us, he’s let his emotions get in the way of business and now we are paying for it.
For the previous talk of the club being at the heart of the community it certainly feels very broken right now.

Managerial decisions have cost us badly, Cocu being the worst for me, it was THE time to forget promotion and get a man in to build. Get players from lower levels and really be cost effective with lowered expectations and just be honest with the fans.
I may request a refund in all honesty as my desire has gone, we pay our money and we expect a well run club in return. Even the accounting situation as it stands makes me feel more pain is coming and then I can see very dark days returning as people will walk away.

If you are a fan who wants to carry on and go each week good for you, I may join you I may not but for those that don’t is does not mean they don’t love the badge any less, the relationship just needs a bit more time to repair before we go back.

Why do we need an extension? These should have been prepared and ready to go long ago so we could get on with our season.

One can only presume that we have agreed some sort of ‘deal’ with the EFL and are re-doing them on that basis but why has it taken so long?

One can only be thankful that the club will no doubt be communicating the reason for this deferral, and the impact it may well have on signing any proper footballers before it is too late, in their usual timely and informative manner.

Well, my point is why would we have this tactical intent when we don't have the personnel? For the cbs You address how we might improve comfort using the ball but not pace. Only Mengi is quick and we haven't been able to get him.
It is an interesting piece and if correct makes me worry that Rooney isn't being pragmatic enough with what's available.

Of course it meant winning as many games as possible and challenging of promotion. But that was all they wanted, because although is appointment was inevitable, they couldn't possibly entertain taking him on when he has no experience whatsoever. But if we had got promoted, what would he have looked like by jumping ship immediately? Getting promoted and then going to Chelsea would look bad for both Frank and Chelsea. That is why he kept the two strikers who were on fire for us on the bench until it was too late to save the play-off  game, but started the match with two strikers who couldn't hit a barn door with an entire country music festival of banjos.
If he has stayed, we would most likely have kept at least some of the loanees, especially the Chelsea ones, we would have been able to recruit properly, and had a full pre-season of training, and continuity of style of play. Remember, Cocu's playing style was totally different, so he even had to put them to sleep before he could work on tactics. There is a fair chance we would have had a much better season, maybe even challenging for promotion again.

I never said that there was anything wrong with Lampard wanting to manage Chelsea. We all knew he would eventually be on his bike after finding his feet here, but Mel was sold the lie that it would be in 2 or 3 years. But the real intention was to chuck him in at Derby, make him look good and move him on quickly.
Neither was it Lampard's fault that the three loanees left an unbridgeable gulf when they left - they were part of the whole setup to make him look good. Unless of course he engineered the whole scheme for himself. I suspect Chelsea had rather a lot to do with it.
What is Lampard's fault is keeping us dangling on a thin piece of cotton all the way through summer so that we could do very little preparation - remember, Cocu only arrived to start his job when the squad were already on their pre-season tour, with no signings made. So poor Philip couldn't go looking for any players he wanted, and ended up being forced to buy or loan people to which all he could say is "OK. you'll do. If I must". It certainly wasn't our choice to not replace them, we couldn't because of Frank Lampard's behaviour.  IF he had any decency he could have pulled some strings behind the scenes to offer one or two of the 3.5 million apprentices Chelsea had on their books at the time.
It was a disgraceful situation which could have been avoided if Frank had simply told us in time what had clearly been set up for months, more likely an entire season.

I would think the Frank Lampard tenure was the turning point that ended up up putting us where we are.

He was always going to manage Chelsea, but no way could they employ a complete rookie. So some high level fixers hawked him around a few clubs to get him a “leg up”, and is how we were able to get the three loan players who made our team, and left it completely characterless when they moved on.
I don’t blame Mel going for it, but he was stitched up thinking he had 2 or 3 years of Frank. The whole thing was to make Frank look good, and it worked.
Sat at Wembley looking at the starting team told any fans with any nous that Chelsea were getting their man. They might as well have put “Bye. Been nice knowing you. Love from Frank” on the screens.
And if you’re not convinced, watch the video of Frank after he had “briefly” consoled the players. He wandered around circling the melee of players with a look on his face that said no matter much of a Chelsea hero he might be he wouldn’t get this sort on interaction with the fans again.
And then there was the summer of “Will he or won’t he”. Not “go”, but actually tell us he is leaving so we have got a chance to sort our next season out.
His keeping us dangling wrecked our preparations, and therefore our entire season, from which we never recovered.
Being subsequently forced to play Rooney when he was nearly as past it as me didn’t help, but the whole Lampard episode did huge damage. Mel’s only mistake was being used as the “Patsie”.
When Frank arrived he created the impression of being a man of integrity. Now I don’t which of his two faces I dislike the most.
Question: when he arrived, what state were we in financially?
