I worked for Mike Ashley for 5 years so can form my own opinion of him.

Indeed but, literally, thousands of employees think negatively of his employ, whereas, literally, a handful of negative reviews do Slync have to turning against CK. Just saying you should judge them on the same merits.

If Kirchoff has his own aeroplane then I doubt if baggage allowance comes into play. Then why didn’t he fill several suitcases with £50 notes, fly directly to EMA and then get the DCFC minibus to collect him?

It’d all be sorted by now. Anyone can see how easy things can be - if only he’d thought things through properly.

He'd have to be careful, EMA from Fort Worth is at the upper end of the G550 range, £20,000,000 in £50 would weight approximately 400kg, plus the suitcases, with wings full of fuel, he might need to empty the drinks cabinet ?

Not saying he’s my pick as I wouldn’t be happy with -15 points, but if he was to take over then I think I’d be optimistic in where we would be in 3-5 years time. If I’m honest, Kirchner scares me a lot as it’s just all so unknown and if you read Slync’s staff reviews of Kirchner on Glassdoor it’s concerning. Appleby is a good medium for me, tried and tested but (hopefully) without -15 points.

It seems odd to criticise CK based upon Glassdoor reviews but not to apply the same standard to, of all people, Mike Ashley?

    Good morning folks.

    Quick Question:

why is MA seen here as a previously successful football club owner?

My opinion is that he took an established PL team down with bad management appointments. Gave out novelty Contracts. Ruined Derby’s promotion push by unsettling McClaren, stunk up the PL by not buying decent players and then finally succeeded by selling them to a country.

He also invested 0 (zero) in infrastructure - Academy, stadium etc - That would be a depressing vision.

But as others have mentioned, why has CK invested time and money coming to Derby if he wasn’t serious? Why pay for all the lawyer fees? It doesn’t make much sense at all.

Agreed, entirely. He's either been unlucky or we're on a long list of people he's defrauded because a lot of money has been spent.

Bit of a strange one all round, thought he came across well on the radio but it’s all the other stuff surrounding BAWT I have no time for.

Yeah, I found the telegram group absolutely nauseating and full of self importance.

BAWT making their founder resign should mean they lose the ‘together’ part of their name.

What happened? I appear to have been booted out of their Telegram group? ?

Looking at all these pages of posts of second guessing and speculation about the what if's, which as fans in this position we're naturally bound to do, brings one key thing home.

OK, we all know this has been and is a VERY complex and difficult situation. We know it will take time. But what has been and is needed is a clear coms strategy. Tell us what we need to know in a clear and simple way at the appropriate time. After all, we are key stakeholders. We are the future customers that will keep this business afloat.

On this count, the two main players in this, the EFL and Q have failed. If it was a GCSE in Communication Studies, they would have both got an E grade. And don't even start me on MM.

Absolutely, the legal guardians of the club and the regulator, the EFL's behaviour in particular, continues to be shocking.

It only occurred to me tonight, as I was sat on the bog listening, and I use the term loosely, the present Mrs Rev moan about her day while in the bath, that as an employee of a UK subsidiary of an American bank with 20+ years service she may be able to shed some light on events.

She basically demolished the supposed reasons for the hold up, such as the crypto element, which would have been poured over by the IRS when CK cashed in his chips, delays caused by new accounts in either country, and the AML checks in either country.

She thinks CK is full of moonshine, and his takeover isn't going to happen.

I'd love her to be wrong, but it's a long shot if experience tells me anything.

Nah, the IRS would only have been interested, obviously, in any taxable element of the bitcoin sale. The AML part is unavoidable, whichever way you look at it, and would be complicated by all the factors you mentioned. Doesn't mean CK will turn out to be anything but they are all important factors.

Thanks for the update. Our daughter, son-in-law and two grand children are with us. They live just outside Mold and they are absolutely delighted by your weather report from home ???

Hehe, my pleasure! Good news is that it looks like sunny intervals with a strong breeze and 18c max tomorrow, take that all day long??

    How feckin amateur all round.

Quantuma are supposed to be expert administrators and Kirchner is supposedly a high powered businessman.

Not knowing that opening a brand new account and buying a football club with the funds deposited would cause alarm bells to ring with the money laundering squad is totally second rate. You'd have thought someone within either rank would have raised the point that it might cause a delay at best. God knows they're raking enough in on the back of this misery.

You're right, perhaps CK should have used his old Derbyshire Building Society junior savings account, or the HSBC super saver account he set up in 2018, 'just in case'

If you read what he said about his investment in crypto currency it was that he made a lot of money by investing early and then cashing in 90% of his holdings. The money he says he has transferred is coming in currency not bitcoins. The fact that Q have not yet removed his PB status could well be because their checks reveal that it has been held up by money laundering checks as has been indicated. The vast majority of such checks pass scrutiny as being legitimate. Very few fall into the threshold of criminality.

I have been following this for the past two days from my sunbed in Kos, checking in just three times a day instead of every ten minutes from home. I am very grateful for that. From afar I still maintain hope that very soon Chris Kirchner will become the owner of Derby County and if so Ed Dawes is banned for life from Pride Park.

if not we are definitely in the s*** for next season.

These are my considered thoughts as I round off a long hot day with several coffees and Metaxas. If I am talking balls then I apologise.

Good for you, weathers been shocking in North Wales today so I've been induce doing some of my voluntary tech work instead of landscaping outside. As such I've been online basically all day. Tomorrow will, literally, be a breath of fresh air as I'm outdoors making some gates and checking in occasionally.... Enjoy your holiday

Doesn't make it acceptable just because people throughout history have exploited other people. Personally I don't want Ashley and if he owns the club I will not got to matches. Just my own little stand against a man whose business model I don't like. I left DW sports when he took it over. Sometimes you have to make a stand. I didn't go to matches when Robert Maxwell owned the club either. If other people support him that's fine,  that's their choice.

Likewise, and ultimately that's why we won't end up with Ashley, he's tainted. Some of the stuff that CK had had to deal with would be chicken feed, and the abuse to Ashley would be far more public. Won't happen.

  14. 38 minutes ago, The_Sheriff said:

Wtf was that for? Absolutely no need for that *unt response.

Nixon himself and a few on here are suggesting its Quantuma whereas i am expressing my suspicion its CK

Mate, my apologies for any offence caused, I was pulling your leg.

That statement is so full of generalisations it's untrue.

Ashley seems to get slagged for running low cost business models, well fair play to him if that's how he's made his pile.

When you've accumulated an amount of wealth equivalent to Ashley's then I guess you will be in a position to criticise.

What a strange thing to post - It's not the 18th century you know, one doesn't have to be landed to vote, people are entitled their opinion regardless of their wealth.

There seems to be a lot of speculation that a bid by Ashley would definitely mean a 15 deduction next season (and then there’s all this tosh about investment in infrastructure etc which seems a bit precious considering the predicament we’re in) but doesn’t anybody know for a fact that is the case because there’s also a lot of speculation that he has never made a bid.

I admit I may have missed the one post in 20 on here that isn’t a pun or other digression, but does anybody have definitive proof that MA will leave us ‘worse off’ than Kirchner?

Not on an immediate, financial and football, basis, no. However, CK has come out and said he will maintain the academy status which is really important IMO. Ashley has a history of spending zero on facilities at St James' Park and have you ever been to Sport Direct Porthmadog? It's one of the most soulless 'pile them high, sell them cheap' experiences you'll ever have. I hope and believe that CK will embrace more a US approach to stadium facilities which would be great.
