I'm not entirely wedded to the idea of CK taking over BUT I wish we could let any other bidders know that a) starting on -15 points works be very disappointing and b) the academy and it's status is hugely important. IMO of course.

Anyone know if anybody from Mike Ashley's team have spoken to Radio Derby?

He sure doesn't come across very good in that clip. Just like a naughty politician running away from questions over their latest scandal.
Yeah, that's not good is it

So, how long does a round of golf take?
I'm not a golfist.
It'll really depend on the format, possibly matchplay foursomes, that should be quite quick. If it's stroke play, we may be looking at tomorrow, again.

Here how it goes today,
EFL have their meeting endorsing the final takeover
CK finishes his round of golf at St Albans, has a couple of drinks with Ian Poulter & then gets in the Billy Davies helicopter to be flown to the press conference in the newly painted press room at PPS
Or, as we say in the industry, 'Poults'

What I cannot understand is the the Chelsea takeover (in the billions) didn't take as long to finally settle. Money laundering checks, etc didnt appear to hamper them.
I know that ours has had many issues, but everything was apparently sorted and just waiting for the funds to be transferred!
In fairness, that has been answered several times. The complexities are obvious and there for all to see but most importantly Chelsea's takeover is funding by lending so won't require the same AML checks.

Isn't the whole point of crypto that you can't tell where the money has come from?
No! Crypto transactions are 100% traceable, what's not always easy to say is how much an individual owns.

Anti money laundering checks by the bank. Usually only takes a couple of days though.
AML checks would depend on the value involved assume the complexity of the provenance of that money.
If you have a £25k house deposit from savings and a £50k salary then this going to a fairly quick check.
If you need to show where £60m has come from and it's from crypto and/or other sources, is say 2 days is really ambitious.
That said, CK would/should know that all this is going to take time....

How do you know he has handed over one cent ?
I don't but then I didn't claim to, providing proof of funds <> to handing over the money.

haven't seen this posted yet so for anyone not on Twitter or listening to radio Derby here’s the tweetThe part I'm clinging to is "When Alonso and Bin Zayed were asked to transfer proven funds they couldn't. Then it was over." We're past that point, as far as I know - He's done that bit. Maybe it will still collapse, who knows.

Given that CK's expenditure on the deal is comfortably in 7 figures at this point, it seems odd to imply that he wouldn't have the money to complete. Still, not what I wanted to wake up to this morning.

I worked for many years for, erm, a large American card issuer whose headquarters are prominently next door to the WTC, it was very strange and discomforting seeing it unfold and knowing that we had friends and colleagues there. Our building was badly damaged up to the 30th floor which tells you how damaging it was. I was in the office in London btw.

With you on this.
This deal isn’t done yet and it’s ok to say so. There have been some totally bonkers theories given airtime on this thread and to show concern over the CK effort to purchase the club at this time is perfectly acceptable.
The thing is, it's not binary is it - It is normal to retain a positive outlook but have some concerns about where things are at or how long it's taking. It's also okay to feel negative about the whole thing while hoping for the best. I think what bugs people is when the same handful of people come along every day and repeat the same downbeat mantra, nothing new each time they post, just repeated negativity.
BTW, it's always a good thing to surround yourself with positive people ?

So we are now throwing Mickey Arthur under the bus because we’ve lost a couple of games? Christ ?♂️
The only issue I really have with our attack is it massively lacks experience and it shows when it gets put under pressure. Kerr’s record speaks for itself.
Fair, I'm throwing my toys when we're crap. But we are so crap is annoying and I'm not sure the money spent on Arthur is better than spending it on players.

One thing I hope this game brings is a rethink with the bowling attack, not because of this game particularly, but I just don’t like the three “quick” bowlers. Hughes was really good last year taking the pace off with off cutters etc, or get an extra spinner with Thomson.
Our 'attack' is tragic. Connors and Kerr are club bowlers at best, the spinners are just exposed, Arthur is laughing all the way to the bank.

Yes, the balance is paid to the buyers solicitor after exchange of contracts but not immediately unless completion is expected fairly imminently. If completion is expected to be a few weeks after exchange, then it is generally paid shortly before completion.
Precisely, a cash buyer would maybe transfer the money a couple of days before completion, a lender would only do it at the point of completion. Smart people don't tend to stick their cash in to other people's accounts for any longer than necessary...

I’m not really buying the bank holidays money transfer thing. Cash should have been already sitting in his Uk attorney’s account, the final transaction is done by lawyers from their client account. I think therefore it’s an issue with whoever’s purchasing the stadium. But strange that he initially blamed the us bank holiday when that should have been irrelevant at this point… something is not quite adding up.
You know when you're buying a house, do you tend to send the money across some time before a deal is done, just in case?

I'm calm about the situation and confident the deal will go through, however CK, Q, and 20 zillion lawyers must realise, the longer this continues, the more damage they are doing to our preparations for next season. Get this done, give us a fighting chance. UTR
I don't entirely disagree but it's obvious preparation is ongoing, contracts are being done etc so we're not in complete panic, yet.
