Keep up the good work. I know Andy has been very keen over the years to set a permanent home up which I hope will be sorted in the next few years.

Andy is seperate to us we set up to try a different approach, he is the Derby County Collection but at the end of the day we are all aiming for the same goal, fingers crossed its gathering momentum, MM didnt help of course.

That's cool thanks.  Sounds like you are negotiating something with the club? Would be great if they gave you a permanent residence.

Fingers crossed, what is your surname Andrew I shall tell Joe you were asking after him mate

  3. As many of you know I am one of the original trustees of The Rams Heritage Trust, we are a group of four like minded individuals who have put in a lot of hard work time and expense to try to preserve as much of the history of Derby County Football Club as possible for the next generations of Rams fans.

our wish to have a more permanent home to share this great collection with you all was strengthened when we were invited by the club to put on a display at Pride Park at the beginning of the month.

we were blown away by the interest and support, to say that it was a pop up display with no other events nearby and road closures due to the Ramathon we did not expect many to turn out but they did in their many hundreds over the two days.

we were further supported by the presence of David Clowes and his good lady wife and ex players.

it was hard work setting up and taking down in a short time but so worth it.

we will be doing another event at the Grand Slam Charity cricket match at Spondon Cricket club on the 16th July.

here is a small taster of the display. 👍🐏😍

There are a couple of shirt collection threads on here that are worth a look.  @loweman2 might be able to point you in the direction of a book on the subject 😉.  When I was growing up we wore white shirts and blue shorts and changed back to black shorts in the late 80’s.  A few of us on here live in hope of blue shorts when the new kit is released.

For some reason the book is on special offer in the US on Amazon $5 @JakeDCFC

Quite surprised that @HuddersRam and @loweman2 haven’t been on to sell anything yet. Come on Lads, that American market is vast and you have a possible distribution gateway here.

10.6k posts and nothing of any meaningful contribution over the years apart from snipes at others, you are one of the main reasons that I don’t read the forum so much as you are very boring and seem to pop up everywhere with an opinion.

maybe get some other interests in your life and lay off the internet so much ! ❤️

You’re never going to convince fans of a certain age that red is acceptable on a Derby home kit. I’m in my 30s and have never known it, and wouldn’t want to either.

Please tell your friend get rid of red splash pink bit.

Does not belong on home shirt.

Red has always been part of our heritage, we were wearing red and white as our main kit when Steve Bloomer made his debut, red and white were our colours for five seasons then, long before we ever wore black and white, Hector scored plenty of his goals in the red of Derby, Dave Mackay even lead us out as second division champions to play against Millwall in 1969 wearing the red of Millwall, we borrowed QPRs away shirts for a game !

good news is heritage colours are coming back so keep an eye out for a splash of colour !

    come on you Redddds

Sure do miss the old gal when I see pictures of the old stadium, just glad I got to experience the final 6-7 years of it being our home in my early days watching the mighty Rams with my Dad. Thank God there was at least a promotion season for us in our 40s to be able look back on!

Little article in The Sun today (for some reason...)

It needs to be combined with a cafe or bar at the ground.

I don't see a museum on it's own being an attraction that will see a consistent level of foot traffic through the doors compared to clubs such as Barca, Real, Man Utd, Liverpool etc.

The Cavern Club in Liverpool is a great example, bar areas with the memorabilia in glass boxes around the venue.

I know Pride Park is out the way for midweek drinkers, there has to be a way to make such a venue work though.

I have used Arsenal as a great example and told David that we have an open invite from the club to go back down, they have set up a fantastic timeline of where the club came from and followed the history through to modern day, great use of lighting and sound adds to the experience, story boards as you walk through, it’s not about trophies it’s a celebration of the heritage, we can include our engineering links with the railways and the aero industry and make it about the people of Derby and how the club has been integral to their lives for the past 140 years, lots of photos and media, we had three screens running over the display on a loop which people just stood and watched, then importantly we will change the exhibits on a regular basis to keep it interesting and include themes such as eras or cup competitions through the season, it can be tied in with the ticket office, the yard and the club shop and of course ground tours, money can be made by the club, the good thing is that we are now up and running, lots of hard work over the years is now coming together, keep watching this space 👍🐏❤️

  9. Great support guys, very much appreciated and the feedback, we can only go from strength to strength, the goal is to get a permanent location set up in a professional layout but today was a great start to what can be achieved, history doesn’t have to be boring and their is nothing wrong in celebrating your past, great to see so many faces and put those faces to names !

yes open tomorrow 11-3 come via the Ascot Drive entrance to Pride Park due to Ramathon road closures.

  10. Sorry to start another thread but we have been down at Pride Park all day at Harrison’s Hub setting up for our display over the next two days of all things Derby County and I wanted to share the results.

it’s free entry and I promise you it will stir the grey matter and maybe tug at the heart strings! There is something for everybody from 1884 to David Mcgoldricks shirt from this season, The Racecourse to PridePark not forgetting the little old BBG.

great to see young @sagehe couldn’t wait for the weekend and had been queuing up all night so we let him in to help !

park in the main car park and have a pop in, we want a museum at the ground where all of the clubs history can be shared, we’ve got the gear we just need a space.

10.15 till 3 Saturday and 11.15 ish till 3 on Sunday due to the Ramathon, Ascot drive entrance to pride park will be open earlier than the others.
