It’s an odd one this taking a stand. We all have bees in bonnets - mine is definitely high cost lenders preying on the desperate or the ill educated. I cheered when Wonga went and the vomit ridden “Brighthouse”  Horrible concepts run by horrible people. 
I’m not religious but the concept of usuary so frowned on by religion is a good one. Being prone to addiction is one thing - booze and gambling - in the end these are illnesses that with  help can be challenged and defeated. Loan sharks are predatory and need to be  shamed, vilified and wiped off the face of the earth. They claim it is a business model or they are serving a market. I’m not here to try and change your opinion, ultimately none of us know what it’s like to work under Mel behind the scenes so we can only build our own opinions from what we see and hear. 
One thing though, Keogh, we might not have acted by the letter of employment law but I back the decision 100%.
He was the club captain, those responsibilities apply both on and off the pitch, Lawrence going through a tough time with the loss of his mum, Bennett a young lad still, Keogh should have known better, he let this club down big time.
Even had the offer to take a pay cut, whilst rehabilitation took place at Moor Farm, which the club would have covered as they did his surgery.
For me, completely tainted his time at Derby, hope he enjoys the money, I have no time for him now at all.

I think you’re way off personally. That’s the figure the media have portrayed.
I believe he has standards that he expects and not someone you want to cross, knows what he wants, has his vision but never got the impression he’s closed minded to others opinions.
Would you want a weak minded owner with no vision that is easily swayed by any other voice? 
There’s a topic somewhere in the Football forum, Frank Lampard still full of praise for Mel, his character and human side.

I'd say Mel is (or was) very passionate, the only difference is when Leicester cheated the gamble paid off and when we did it (if we actually did) we we're unlucky. Leicester have been incredibly lucky on several occasions in recent years. If they got relegated in 14/15 they would be struggling in the Championship with there FFP problems.
It annoys the amount of praise Leicester's owners get. They don't own them just because they're such good people, they're main reason for owning them is just to use them as a form of sportswashing for Thailand. Just like Abu Dhabi use Man City

Quite happy with this. There’s a player in there that for one reason or another just hasn’t quite been unlocked. Maybe a summers rest will do him the world of good. I’ve said before that he is a victim of his price tag... we would all be much happier with him if he was cheap. Hopefully a summers rest will help him and us next season.

There will be clear protocols in place to ensure board members are excluded from any discussions where there is a conflict of interest, as with any such body.
Now, whether the EFL follow them is another matter.
All I will say is it doesn't look like we are gaining any unfair advantage from where I am standing!

We did try to do a Leicester, but our attempts to bypass ffp haven't been quite as successful. The major flaw with our plan is that we're going to get punished whilst we're still in the championship rather than in the Prem like Leicester were.

To be honest, Leicester have been a breath of fresh air, and had stuck two fingers up at the supposed big 4 clubs.  Just like we did under Clough and MacKay.  Nobody thought it was possible in this day and age, but they showed the world what team work can do.
Good on them, I just hope we can attract a family as passionate as they did.

How could any Championship representative possibly not have a conflict of interest with the EFL?
Their own club has to be their primary role and the EFL does not act in the interests of its members so it is completely impossible for there not to be a conflict of interest.
How can someone from Stoke possibly be elected to the board given the losses they reported last week?!?!

Both pretty quiet. Ireland were very poor. Ebosele noticeable for a couple of wild tackles 1st half. Some nice touches from Watson as you'd expect but pretty non-existent in all honesty.
