Spoke to a nice couple, Wycombe fans, on the train after and they thought Derby deserved to win. They also said they were embarrassed by their chairman's behaviour and accepted that Derby simply got more points than them Interestingly however the guy thought they "had won the court case" and asked if I knew how much they had got!

As far as I am aware there has never been a “court case “ .

They played their last 6 or 7 games of that season with total freedom which ended up with a small upturn of form. If they had the pressure on them still who is to say they will have got the results they got, they showed for the majority of that season when the pressure was on and the games had something riding on them they got nothing and played awfully. Plus we didnt delay the accounts at the end of that season so they need to pick up their dummies, check their salt levels & piss off back to obscurity.

Also when the alleged offence was actually committed they were in a league below so it had nothing to do with them.

A true legend of the sport. He is by far the most watchable because from a technique and entertainment value, he is the best to have ever held a racket. Nadal and Djokovic are also legends and have won more titles, but Fed will go down as the most iconic.

Federer’s record is also hugely impressive given he wasn’t as physically blessed as some of his opponents.

Fed to tennis is what Messi is to football, what Floyd is to boxing and Schumacher is to F1. Icons.

So difficult to compare players that I have seen since the 70’s as the rackets have changed so much . Feds is/was a wonderful player but I still think a prime McEnroe is the best I’ve seen,  a magician with a wooden racket. Been lucky to see some of the greatest (mens ) players of all time , Borg , Becker , Connors , ( had a liking for Nastase as well ) , Edberg , Agassi. The recent era with Feds , Joka , Rafa and Murray was the most competitive. They could all have won more if the other 3 weren’t around. Sampras was good but I never took to him .

Indeed.  It would end up like a sort of "socceraid" type game - soulless and like a pre-season friendly in Thailand.

But to Americans it isn't about sport, but entertainment - and an event (disclaimer - I wish I could order food to my seat!).  The sport is just part of it.

I love the fact that "The Rams" have been the Cleveland, then moved to LA (at a distance of 2,346 miles), then moved to St Louis (1,824 miles away) and back to LA.

Without an attachment to a place, a Team is just a name.  So who cares if they play somewhere else.  And why not support other teams/

To be fair, I'm not against American sport.  They have a different tradition to us, but that doesn't make them wrong.  But  when they come here, I do wish they wouldn't try to civilise the natives.

Sounds like that 100 cricket bollux

and to digress slightly - has anyone done a dog DNA test to find out a breed mix? Some of the sites offering these seem deeply suspect, with people reporting quite ludicrous results. If your dog looks like a lurcher, it's unlikely that his DNA result of Dachshund x Boston Terrier is accurate ?

My daughter had one done for her Heinz 57

You do not need to be a great manager to alter tactics based on the opponent's style of play, If that were the case there's about circa 50 great managers on this website now.

Greatness is a term in todays world of football that is cheaply spoken about when someone does a bicycle kick and scores or a well timed tackle in the 18 yard box.

Was Alf Ramsey great when winning the World Cup in 66?, Was Alf Ramsey Great when taking Bobby Charlton off when leading W Germany 2-0 only to lose 2-3 in the 1970 World Cup?

    Greatness my ar$e

Bobby was blowing out of his arse and had to come off. Bonnetti’s sponge fingers where a different matter ?

Always find it interesting when fans of a club on limited resources say "taken us as far as he can".

How far do they realistically think they can go as a club?

Centre Parks give in and those already there can stay on the Monday, But still others arrive on Tuesday

Centre Parks tell those that are still there on Monday to stay in their lodges

Centre Parks now tell those that are still there on Monday that they can now leave their lodges and walk about

It's something for us all to aspire to. I'd love to be so bad at a job that it's worth paying me millions to just not do it anymore. Unfortunately I have a job where the sack would just lead to hardship.

The being Chelsea manager part is obviously horrible, but afterwards, the accolades, the respect in the game, the mountain of payoff money.

He can work there for 9-12 months get sacked with his 5 year pay off then take over the Rams and lead us to the Champions League ?
