How about Ryan McLaughlin, 27 year old right back, recently released by Morcambe.

Matej Vydra is now a free agent, makes sense to me to bring him back to the club.
What part of McLaughlin’s career history ( apart from being a pro footballer) makes you think a journeyman player who has knocked around the lower leagues at Oldham and Rochdale would improve the Rams ? Better off as we are than waste a wage on just having an extra player for the sake of it.
As others have said Vydra has a long term injury and apparently Burnley will offer him a new contract when he is fit. -

How would I know
The players are employed like me and have a job to do. By all means wear a black armband , have a minutes silence etc.
whatever is decided you will get some who will agree and some who don’t.
My opinion life should carry on as normal with due respect paid.
Stop for the day on the funeral but no more for me. I understand that others may disagree. -

What if some of the players don't want to play
Wonder what my boss would say if I didn’t want to go to work tomorrow ?

I’m so glad you agree @hiltonram. It fills me with absolute wonder too. I though do need to caveat - the picture is Pikes Lane but not confirmed it’s a pic from the Bolton v Derby game. It could be …I suspect more research may narrow it down. BUT…without doubt Derby County was right a the very heart of the start of the Football League despite being formed just 4 years prior. Also played the game in which the first ever goal was scored {by Davenport for Bolton} and was top of the League at 5pm on the first Saturday of the Football League {by modern standards of goal difference} although technically no table was produced { “ points” weren’t invented until a few weeks later}. Puts into total perspective the near loss into liquidation of Derby County last year. Derby County was right at the very eye of the entire system from the get-go.
The Committee Minutes to me are priceless - just look at the names - Morley, Bakewell, Williamson, Plackett. The team was picked by the Committee a week or so before in the presence of some of the players themselves …can you imagine the scene at the Bell Hotel…William Morley: I think we need Haydn [Morley] at the defence; But what about Campbell?
Mr Leech: ah, we’ve had a note saying “ can’t come”.
Willliam Morley [turns to Haydn] “ Right son, you’re playing!”.
Love it.
But was Bakewell wasted at Right Full back when he could be playing at Right half back ?

Du Plooy drops one

back on 17 overs to get 5 wickets if the weather holds

Looks like covers and sheeting being moved off now ?

Ground staff are hovering around the covers ?
Lots of hovering but no movement so far ?

106-4 chipping away make that 106-5 2 quick wickets for Watt after the rain break
-
Could do with a flurry of wickets soon ??

Declared with 297 lead. Let’s hope a few quick wickets up front this innings

A tricky one.
Nobody has been successful when attempting to attack the bowling all game - a 'sporting' wicket (if you are a batter, then decidedly unsporting if a ball has your name on it) with variable bounce varying between climbing off a good length and running along the floor.
20 more runs would be useful, but smacks of 'safety first'. The likelihood is that 3 wins from the last 3 games will see us promoted - better to go for it than spend the close season wondering 'what if...'.
Think about 300 lead then declare

Shoe in for Southgates wc squad then.
Let's see..... Stones, Maguire and gomez.....not a very appetising prospect.
Connor coady and Mings the Merciless it is then...... ?
And no place for Tomori no doubt ?

Must be unplayable at the moment, we've lost the last four wickets for 14 runs and Dal has faced 20 deliveries for one run!
Maybe swing and hope for the best and get 10 overs at them tonight?
There spinner has taken 3 wickets as well so maybe Watt will be in the game as well ?

Madsen out now and du Plooy out for just 1. 153-5 as tea is taken, a lead of 236. Already around the point of nearly enough.
Could do with near 300 ??

Mo was a good player think he had to retire due to a head or eye injury if my memory hasn’t failed me.

What happened to Rushworth? As we were arriving, he was leaving the field.
Not sure but good news for our batting chances if he stays off

Needs to be put out of his misery .

The two either side of the Centre-Half were called Wing-Halfs (individually LH & RH). They traditionally played wider than the FBs. At junior school we had a couple of sets of shirts that had the initials of each position stitched onto the backs. They looked (and smelt) like they dated back to the 1920s.
Bet you played with a lace up case ball as well and wore the round toed boots ?
