MaltRam reacted to DCFC27 in Martyn Waghorn To Return (He isn't)
This is exactly the type of signing we need to steer clear of

MaltRam reacted to Rammy03 in Matchday Thread - Charlton Athletic v Derby County (06/08 15:00)
I wouldn't say we were any more wasteful in front of goal than other teams. It was just felt that way because we created very few chances. And if we didn't score one then we'd end up shipping a goal at the other end.
Today we created a lot of chances but were wasteful. You can't miss those chances and get away with it. But that's football, it happens. It happens to the best teams sometimes.
This is a new team and it's only the second game. You're looking for something that isn't there. But if this is the case 2 months down the line then you may have an argument.

MaltRam reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in Sean Robertson - Signed for Forest Green Rovers
I remember thinking Pereyplotkins was the best player on the pitch when I saw him in a pre-season friendly. Was absolutely over the moon when we signed him...

MaltRam got a reaction from Will Hughes Hair in Jason Knight
Don't kid yourselves that we can strengthen by letting our best players leave. Worked with Kevin Wilson, because we had Bobby Davison. Jason Knight is different gravy to anything we could get to replace him.

You may be right. We'll probably never know.

Alright Rams, Guiseley (who?) fan here in peace.
I came to the Oxford game on Saturday with my mate (Wolves fan).
It was our first trip to Pride Park between us and usually we pick a random game every so often. So we ended up at your place.
We had a great time, your stadium is fantastic. Plenty of eateries around the ground too. The fans we were sat near were passionate and it was infectious. We were in the North Stand which was family orientated but it was nice to see so many youngsters getting behind the team.
The atmosphere was great, the bounce by the south stand was something I won't forget. Capped with a great goal to get the win aswell.
Only downside being, we parked at the industrial park past the south stand and we didn't move for about an hour after the final whistle. But that didn't spoil a great day out.
All the best for the season, will be looking out for your results and will likely come back later in the season too.

I’m just offended that Nicko is a more reliable source than me!

MaltRam reacted to Srg in Jason Knight
Did you miss the part where we got a new owner who’s nothing to do with the previous ownership and had already been punished to the tune of 21 points and the majority of the players we had leaving? Where have you been?

MaltRam got a reaction from Premier ram in Jason Knight
Knight is just about the first name down for Saturday, IMO. Be very sad to see him leave. Energy and a touch of quality. Hope he stays.

MaltRam reacted to Duracell in Krystian Bielik - Joined Birmingham on a 3 year deal
Saying "he's always injured anyway" has the same energy as a girlfriend dumping you and saying "she wasn't a looker anyway."
Yes she was, and this is a massive loss.

Do you reckon he'll get his collar felt?

Even though this is only a friendly, some things never change - the pattern and style we play stinks really - we piss about keeping possession at the back, passing side to side in our own half. Then when we eventually pass the ball forward, it’s usually a poor pass, we lose possession and straight away we are under pressure with teams bearing down on us.
Let’s be honest, we can’t keep playing in this way - if hasn’t worked for for us ever, so why do we persist in trying to play this way ?
if tonight’s match was about simply improving our fitness levels, then it didn’t - tippi tappi football never got anyone fit - they’d have been better spending the evening running round Allestree Golf Course like the squad used to do in the good old days !!

MaltRam reacted to Crewton in Craig Forsyth - Signed one year contract
I think it's fair to say that he's stuck by the club and the club has stuck by him. He played in every single game of the 2013/14 season (53), and all but 2 the following season (51). He would have probably carried on like that in subsequent seasons, but for two terrible injuries, neither of which were his fault. AFAIK he's never been a trouble-maker, never been one of the better paid in the squad, at least until it started to be dominated by under 21s, and always been willing to play where the manager wanted him to. By any measure, for a modern-day footballer, his career at Derby has been notable.
I don't really agree with testimonials for footballers these days - most of them earn enough if they stay at one club for 10 years at Championship level, because that's a longer than average career, but i hope at least that he signs on for his 10th full season with us, not least because he'll be essential cover at LB/LCB. Then perhaps we can ensure he gets a good send off when we know it's his last game for us.

His best may be gone, but what he has left may be plenty for L1. Big lad at full back can be a bonus with some of the lump it and run after it football we'll be on the end of...and he can cross a ball with tolerable consistency.
