Gayle didn't come in the window though - anyone moaning that we needed a striker was proved right.

It's just panto - couldn't give a **** when it was sung at us and happy for people to sing it at Reading - who I believe sang similar at us.   It's a football match not a love-in.

Re the pen for me the ref got it right.  Ok Ive only rewatched it on my phone but it looks to me like Gayle is taken out and if his arm touches the ball it's as a result of that.    If someone has a slo-mo/still to prove different fair enough.

The club sold the match going fans a bit of a kipper with this. There was nothing to state what was happening, so when we’d already had a time out shortly before for the old keeper injury shtick, fans understandably got annoyed and booed. Could’ve been avoided with some communication anywhere. Dont think any would have had an issue if we knew why!

Yeah let's turn all the ground into one massive west stand.
I'm hardly a young pup, but still enjoy a bit of back and forth with opposition fans and sometimes have to remind myself that I'm 60 with aches in places that I never used to have.
But compared to the stuff we used to get up to,  the fans you want banning are angels and are just blowing off a bit of steam. Maybe they should all stay at home and play on their X boxes and leave the football to the flask and blanket brigade!

1Wildsmith. 6.5 For me no fault with the goal
35Nelson. 7 Solid and won loads in the air in tne latter stages
5Bradley. 5. At fault with their goal - for me the jury is still out.
    2Wilson. 6. Did what you'd expect
6Cashin.  7 Good on the ball, defensively sound
23Ward. 6.5.  Some good balls in and wasn't exposed defensively
    27Blackett-Taylor. ,6
    32Adams. 7
4Hourihane. 5.5. Thought he was poor and his score would be lower but fir the pen.
12Smith. 5.5.  Didn't really get into the game
    17Sibley. 6.5.
    7Barkhuizen. 6.5
    25Gayle. 7
    10Waghorn.  6.5.  Forced a good save - showed willing
    11Méndez-Laing. 6.5
3Forsyth.  6.   I'd probably start him over Bradley.

Warne 7.  Didn't over think it - thought the subs made reasonable sense.

Thought it was a decent game to watch and good atmosphere.  On general play we deserved it even if we needed a few decisions to go our way.
Having watched the penalty decision again I still couldn't say for sure if it's a handball before he gets cleaned out - maybe there's another angle?  The red does look soft though.

I thought that was a superb save on their second goal, a one handed save from the first shot, just unfortunate that the ball went straight to their lad who tucked it away with some aplomb, as our defenders stood and watched
Luck is very capricious, another day would have seen a different ending

Don't think there’s much debate. If it’s a back 4, it’s Nyambe. Ideally, in a back 3, you get rid of Bradley and put Nyambe as part of the 3.

trappatoni got a reaction from Premier ram in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
Pre Barnsley someone posted the respective run ins and I thought this is looking great for automatic.
Ok 2 defeats in 3 isn't great but I still think we've got as much chance as Bolton or Barnsley of 2nd and if forced to choose I'd say with us getting some strikers fit and CBT coming into the team we are maybe very slight favourites of those 3.    Nyambe is potentially a huge loss though.

I still say Sibley get's judged to a higher standard than others.  For me he's been ok this season - whatever division we end up in I'd offer him a contract - maybe not the wages he's on if he's a top earner (I don't know) but I can't see how he's done worse than most of Warne's signings and he's done significantly better than say Bradley who plays every game now.

For me we normally play to the level of the opposition.   We didn't really play any worse than Barnsley or any better than Shrewsbury or Burton.   Most games that we win or lose the beaten manager could probably claim with some justification it could have been a draw.   We win more than we lose but maybe because we have more individuals that can produce moments of quality.
Today I don't think anyone could argue we weren't worth the 3 points - it wasn't particularly flowing football but on the balance of chances created/conceded we were a distance ahead.
