hintonsboots reacted to GenBr in Krystian Bielik - Joined Birmingham on a 3 year deal
Head of recruitment at the time was Steve McClarens son I think. Mels son also had some involvement in scouting/recruitment at the time.

Lewis Wing has left Wycombe. I’d be very surprised if we aren’t linked with him. He would be a very good signing - the difference in the two sides when we played them at their place. A real box to box midfielder coming into his prime years.
Warne is a very public admirer of him too.

So 13 senior pros, including Bielik, plus Thompson and Odoruh on the books. Stark requirement for a dozen signings...but if we get the majority right we're in for a big season. Miles better place to be than a year ago.

With a stable club in terms of the financial aspect and staff we will in many ways a good prospect for further investment once we reach the Championship. There must be many clubs in very worrying positions financially especially when parachute payments run out.

The interesting test is going to be when stability, integrity and progress come into conflict.
In much the same way as you'd hope safety would be the ultimate goal on a hazardous construction project, you'd hope integrity will triumph when tested by circumstances.
Progress is the easiest measuring stick, there's a table, there's wins, there's points but the stability and integrity are what will make the club strong and healthy in the long term. We've all seen the result of binning off stability and integrity in the pursuit of progress and a few of us remember as well the long period of stability under the (granted, maddening at times) GSE/Nigel years.
