Not just you @NottsRammy I’ve felt the same for a long time. Neither have done anything special since leaving for me. Same for Bogle & Lowe as don’t believe they will achieve much more than lower end of PL clubs at best either. I agree we’ve been so poor for many years compared to our past (which is old ‘uns can remember) that any player with a modicum of talent gets put on a completely unrealistic pedestal I’m afraid.

I get that the world's moved on, and I am not part of that (never will be).
But the further we move away from what really matters in football, eleven men each side on that pitch, supported in person, an opportunity to win against the odds and be part of something special, the more I feel that football as we know it will soon be gone forever. VAR, playacting on the field, off field politics and the way that money completely dominates the game.
Next generation won't need or be able to experience football in the flesh, it will all be virtual reality where only financial input will count as a measure of a fan's loyalty.

I don't think for a minute many,if any, clubs find themselves in the situation we are in,we were in it before Covid took a grip
Other clubs can still afford decent wages. They are shopping at Waitrose or M&S, we are shopping at Aldi/Lidl looking at Yellow stickered bargain players who are coming up to their best before or use by dates

What were the other urban myths that you have also crossed off as a matter of casual interest.
And as so many people have already commented before me the case was settled out of court so it neither proves nor disproves the agenda you're trying to further.
Not sure why you posted this at all as it just seems like you are trying to irrationally defend Morris without any substance to back it up with

To clarify my opinion on Morris.. I have never been comfortable with him as owner, something never sat right in what he said or his actions. I do believe he wanted the best for DCFC, just that he was completely out of his comfort zone and was making stupid statements and had no real idea of what he was doing. However, that aside, my biggest grip was the stupid narrative that some fans held in that he was local and a fan ergo he was god. WTF being local and a fan has to do with anything is beyond me.. He’s am ego manic who has taken us back 20 years.

He is a footballer, he is paid to score goals, he should be able to celebrate when he does (and is sticking his fingers in his ears really that much of a celebration?), regardless of the opposition, no one "deserves a bag full of abuse". I mean seriously, we weren't even involved in the match yesterday so what difference does it make to us? And Morgan was an unused substitute?
It is just pathetic and people need to grow up.

Once a Ram--end of.  When the pay packet stops so does the loyalty. The days of the local lad player, catching the bus to the game with the fans is long long gone.
Its a job no more no less. Maybe a stepping stone to a higher league or national side. Kissing the shirt is pantomime stuff for the fans!

What kind of players though? They'll have been released for a reason. Many of them won't even get clubs for obvious reasons never mind have to worry about lowering their wage demands.

Well seeing as Morris was responsible for giving Rooney the job and is also accountable for how he's performed in his role then yes he does have a moral obligation to finish off what he's started knowing what the likely outputs are going to be accordingly next season.
And where does the abject output of trying to find a buyer lie with? If he's asking too much that's Morris, if it's because the club is such a poor proposition to take on as it's riddled with debt, wafer thin squad etc then it lies at the same persons door.
Not sure then why you are unable to blame Morris for the fix we are in now and knowing this my expectations would be that he takes ownership of the mess he has created before he leaves.
