Agree. Still think Everton would be crazy to appoint him and obviously would not be considering it if it was Joe Shmow who was Derby’s manager right now. Since when has being a former player ever been a good criterion for picking a manager.
Usually it goes terribly. Colin Todd, John Gregory etc..

We should be happy for Rooney if he gets the opportunity. He's done a lot for the club in the bleakest days in our 138 year history, largely making it not so bleak for the fans on matchdays.
Unfortunately, we can't kid ourselves that a takeover remedies our issues. We are going to be feeling the effects of this for a long time. Wayne Rooney gets the opportunity to really showcase what he can do if he goes to Everton and honestly I would be so happy for him, personally.
I honestly will treat the players and coaches that have been at the club this season as lifelong Derby players. If they are to leave, honestly good for them as they've got to look after their self, their career, their development first and foremost. I just can't appreciate them enough for their fighting spirit and mentality this season. I hope all of them go on to better things and flourish.

I think Sibley along with 2 or 3 others will be gone by the time the transfer window shuts

Very true, but wasn’t everyone saying for a long time HMRC was the main obstacle. That seems to have been (we dont know for sure) cleared. Thought they had law on their side re: Boro and Wycombe but now run into the fact the EFL don’t apply the law therefore Boro and Wycombe have now become the main issues/roadblocks.

If there is enough momentum behind this it will be sorted but that requires ALL parties to compromise to some degree, unless Quantuma can push through the law point, or the EFL actually read and properly apply their regulations.
Mel has created a horrific mess, fact he isn’t involved in trying to solve it is a disgrace. But this club can be saved and if it isn’t then shame on everyone involved.

If I was a youngster at Derby there is no point in moving now - if we survive the season and anybody wants you they will be back if the club folds then they can sign for who they want if they are wanted,
the likes of Sibley and knight are two of the eight under contract currently and if they were forced out for peanuts there really isn’t any point carrying on and if we did paying for a season ticket to watch nothing is not attractive - how will an owner sell that to the masses.

Can you maybe raise another point David. Gibson has said (in his rant to your Boro forum equivalent) he could have spent the £45 million on his family. Since when has his family been a football creditor?

I'm serious. Gibson is funding Boro via soft loans. So really any losses Boro make are being absorbed by him, they are not losses to Boro. Its Gibson's personal loss, not Boro's he is trying to claim for.
Also he is saying Derby cheated. Well if so then it was Morris that cheated not Derby. If Morris really knew he wa sbreaking th erules, none of us did. So wouldnt Morris lose his protcetion of limited liability? So Gibson could go after Morris.
Basically it should be Gibson v Morris. Not Derby v Boro.

and this was all presented by Bausor the CEO of MFC - and an EFL Board member!!!
The EFL have seemingly dealt with the conflict of interest issue by saying MFC are excluded from discussion of those issues and don’t get to see EFL internal papers on those discussions. That’s standard practice and difficult to dis-prove.

The nub is the cases being brought by Gibson and WWFC. It’s very disingenuous of the EFL to say MFC think they have a valid case so who are we to think otherwise and intervene.
We need legal expertise plus MPs to be directed to examine that because that’s where all the deception is. That’s the heart of it.

Any one know what a “Legal Ruling” is as referred to on bbc?
in particular how long does it take to get? And what happens if it goes for/against.
    (Apols if discussed already).

I think it's harsh to give any MP making any kind of effort, stick.

Reality is they have zero influence over the EFL and what is happening.  Best you can hope for is reform, but that takes a long time.  I take no issue with people raising concerns and issues and challenging them, that's how positive change happens for the greater good.  It should happen more across society in general.

But in the immediate future, expecting any of this to have an impact is folly.

I remember it well - difference here is things have escalated and the fact their rules are, in effect AGAINST the law is the issue.  It's like me being pulled over for jumping a red light and telling the friendly officer that, "ah yes, you say I broke the law but my policy is that if I can see the road's clear and there's no-one coming I can drive through".  Same if they changed the speed limit on a road from 40 to 30  yet I still did 40 but got caught for speeding.  "Sorry officer, I haven't got used to driving at 30 here as it was always 40" Stupid examples maybe but same principle.  Would the policeman accept my responses - of course he wouldn't. I've broken the law. Ignorance of the law is no defence.

Wycombe's is almost worse for me.  Even if you put aside the issue that there was no possible chance of us being given a points deduction last season (deadline for revised accounts submission was after the start of the season, then there's the whole process after that still to happen etc), they're arguing that points deductions for us should be applied immediately, but the Sheff Weds one should still be applied the following season, otherwise Sheff Weds stay up instead.  They're literally demanding that EFL sanctions of other clubs be applied in the seasons that personally benefits them the most.

I'd say the impasse is also that, to date, no interested party is willing to pay the £100M that is required to cover the "solution" that the EFL want. Some people, perhaps on both sides, need to take their heads out of their arses and start being pragmatic about a solution because, at the moment this is going nowhere but a liquidation where no-one gets their dues paid.
This reminds me of classic brinkmanship on all sides, with the fans and unsecured creditors being used as pawns by those with the power to sort it out if only their egos would allow it.

Boro fans are very pro Gibson and anti Derby. The general sentiment looking online is most agree with Gibson’s course of action or are not bothered either way. In any case, Gibson probably doesn’t care what Boro or Derby fans think anyway about this - he wants money and would not be upset to see Derby out of business I’m sure.
Also I’m not sure trying to appeal to Gibson will work. Derby are fighting for their existence. Action needs to be taken. No grovelling etc. Derby need to stand up to Gibson and say no. I couldn’t care less what Boro fans think and neither I’m sure would the majority of other Derby fans.
