Performance was much better but the final ball and finishing was missing massively, on another day we win that 2 or 3 nil. Waggys header was a sitter, he had to score. We seem to have struggled vs half decent teams who just sit in at Pride Park, even under McClaren we had games like today.
The booing after the game was at the ref, there were chants to him after the boos & he was booed again as he walked down the tunnel.
As for Warne's post match interview, what he actually said was we was getting joy down the sides (which we were) but then decided to try & force passes through the middle (which we did) but thats where all Cambridge numbers were so it didnt work & that we should have kept going out wide as that was working....not sure how anyone can disagree with that? Everytime we went through the middle we lost the ball, Waggy barely madr himself available but we looked a threat when we got the ball out wide.
Nyambe & Nelson looked rock solid at the back & Fornah was brilliant in centre mid, the sort of player we have been missing. Id be tempted with him & Bird in the 2 with Hourihane in the 10 as he has the quality on the ball to score or create around the edge of the box.
1 loss in 7, 3 clean sheets in a row & the squad starting to get back fit - lets see how we look when we have the likes of Bird, Hourihane, Ward & JJ fully fit & available.
I do however think some fans wont be happy regardless of what happens on the pitch whilst Warne is in charge. Even if we won the league they would moan about something.

Football is full of fine margins
If McGoldrick would of stayed I think we would have 4 more points
I think the defence is slightly better , The midfield about the same (not very good)
but to replace a your main threat with a guy who maybe would still be without a club (Waghorn) if we hadn't stepped up
Washington who couldn't get regular game time with previous clubs
and Collins whose positional sense is none existant and has the lack of ability to fully control a football
The only one who had somthing was maybe John Jules but a hell of a risk signing that was !!
So sadly thats the problem, plently of huff and puff and nothing up top
    equals midtable nothing season

Sorry but we played decent stuff just couldn’t score when we had pressure on. Get grip, put your big boy pants on and realise that we have no divine right to promotion because we’re Derby County - big club who shouldn’t be in League 1.

Hang on, we had loads of possession today and did lots of short passes, I thought that is what the angry mob were after?

Or… lots of people are enjoying their days out and the football experience is good…  Surely the vast majority are not there thinking, “This is horrible, I hate it, but at least I’m being a loyal supporter”.  I think you are most likely wrong IMO.
(I enjoyed last season with PW.. Unfortunately we lost the gold one, but that’s football)

If PW gets us promoted this year (which if you look at the league table honestly, without past prejudice is a good possibility) then he will be up there with Arthur Cox and most people will be excited for next season.

Why are all these people coming when we are playing such rubbish football and Warne can’t even get out of bed without doing it badly? 😜

Can't believe I'm actually the one having to point this out, but when Liam had a bunch of players out injured (ie the entire time he was in charge), nobody was questioning his training methods.
As it is, I'm gutted for the lad himself and also for the club as I do think this lad could have been the missing link; pace, box to box, with a rocket shot on him. It's just our lousy luck though, I'm afraid. I don't buy the consipacy theories at all.

13 points from 8 games is more than any of our last 3 third division seasons
    2022/23 - 11 points
    1985/86 - 10 points
    1984/85 - 11 points
Just imagine what is possible when we start playing well

I lost my wife to cancer 4 years ago.
There are no words for the pain. No map out of the dark. You just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and by tiny degrees it eases. The gaps between episodes of despair get fractionally wider.
In my experience, masses of support from all around are 10% of the battle. 90% is having a reason to carry on. I had two teenagers. I suspect football may be vital for Josh in that regard.
    Sending him love.

    A crazy last 10 minutes.
Gough (a 2nd half sub), got a straight red, quickly followed by a straight red for a Stoke forward (a 1st half sub) and a 2nd yellow for one of their CMs.
In the 3rd minute of injury time, Cruz Allen (in fantastic form this season) stepped up to score the winner. 1-0

Dean (hick) Saunders reacted to Ambitious in Warne: what would it take?
I don’t think it would take too much for me, I like him enough but just get frustrated at the lack of emphasis or thought on situational football. Even at our best, the game is largely a basketball match where the ball is all moving all over the place, the players are spread so far apart from each other and we are absolutely sitting ducks to counter attacks. At our worst, we just can’t control the pace of the game or take the sting out of it. Wildsmith is a god send at times as he’s clever enough to see when we need a break. The football is just played relentlessly, ball into space and a lot of shirts running after it.
I’m happy for that to be part of our makeup but we need to start controlling games a lot better, suffocate teams and get them moving off the ball aside from us electing to do the running.

In answer to many of those panicking about EVs, after listening to all the scare stories.
In the next 4 or 5 years, the cost will come down as more are produced, just look at history, only enthusiasts or the very rich could buy the first tvs, colour tvs, video recorders, cd players, transportable phones (the size of a briefcase for the latest battery to power it), microwave ovens, etc. MG already have the MG4 for well under £30k with a 7 year warranty.
Charging and range, Toyota have told us they will be producing mass produced cars with over 600 mile range and 20 minute charging in 4 years time. So, you will get 3 weeks charge on your car, while you're in the supermarket doing your weekly shop. This is in addition to all the other charging opportunities.
The biggest problem will be generating the electricity required.
