Hi. This isn’t my petition, just making people aware as thought a few on here would be interested in signing and might not be aware of what is going on.
DCC aren’t interested in anyone’s opinions sadly. They have already made the decision to close and dismantle the course. The petition maker however feels or believes that if a certain number of signatures are reached then the matter has to be debated/discussed by DCC which could be the last opportunity to save it. DCC seems to have responded by saying that they will only accept signatures with a Derby postcode. The reason for this could be that quite a few have signed from elsewhere due to the matter being raised, discussed and investigated on golfshake - a website. Worth a look as the fella there investigated the design of the course. There is also a video taken on the last day of play which is on YouTube. So it looks like your excellent suggestion was previously acted upon!
I am not a mad keen golfer so don’t know these things. I play on the course maybe once a month and only started again due to my 9 year old becoming interested. It is for him that I want to fight this as Allestree, our local course, is a great place where he can come round with me and see how not to do it and then play a couple of holes himself. We don’t have to worry about not wearing the right clothes and importantly we can afford it.

I think part of that was his passion, not to downplay his footballing ability, but on top of being a very good footballer I've never seen a loan player care so much. That's even considering a player like Leon Osman who pretty much single handedly saved us from relegation. If I hadn't had known otherwise I would've thought Tomori was playing for his boyhood club when he was with us!

I don't see the benefit of using it. It is longer to write, same syllables, and leaves open to be other clubs, there is only 1 Derby but 3 other Countys.

Codswallop, that's like saying we should be OK being called 'Cricket'.
County is not a name our fans call our club, it has no frame of reference with our team and hasn't in the 50+ years I've been following them. I can't think of a single time when a fan, song, manager or player has referred to the team as 'County'. The only time it is used is by journalists or (normally teenage) YouTubers who know nothing about us except that we have a two word title. So it riles me up not because of the word but because whoever uses it hasn't taken more than a few cursory moments to understand anything about us as a club.

To answer the OP it's the microprocessor - pretty much every advancement on here has been dependent on that. Moore's law (the ability to double the amount of transistors on a single piece of silicon every two years - hence doubling the processing power) continues to hold true, despite our being told it was not longer possible, for over a decade. The average house now has more than 300 computer driven devices, from fridges to thermostats to smart devices to bluetoth headphones. Not sure how many were in that photo in Fox's in Alfreton but you can sure bet it was around 300 less than the average home and that photo was definitely taken in my lifetime. It's the most amazing, and rapid, advancement in human history - truly amazing times to have lived through.
