Oldben got a reaction from Ted McMinn Football Genius in Get him gone.
Rooney wasn't qualified to be a manager.
Its not his fault the club offered him the job.
The club should not have offered him the managers job.
Yet the goal of the owner was to sell the club, Mel believed that Rooney would help him sell the club.
Mel has a track record with unsuccessful managers, its cost him a lot of money.
Goodbye to the Derby way, it was a failed experiment.

I hope that the efl will do a full review.
Derby fans deserve peace of mind on the issue.

When Rooney leaves Derby and if the club has no money, there is still a manager in waiting at the club.
Would it be terrible to ask experienced McLaren to manage the club for a while.
I say when Rooney leaves because once a manager has become a waste of space at the club they were asked to manage it becomes pointless keeping them on.
If the club decided to keep Rooney it would not help as I believe the fans will protest him out of the club.
The club can't afford for a huge loss of fans not returning to the football ground once the new season starts and once the govt allows fans to return to watching matches at football grounds, that could happen.
McLaren wouldn't have been my first or second choice but he's an experienced football manager.
Unlike Rooney I think McLaren could get the team working again.

I'm sure many speculated this was happening.
Surely at such a time for the club, the advice of mclaren, would be helpful.
He's an experienced manager.

I'm not suggesting he's a great manager.
His player skills might serve Derby well on the pitch

If Derby are relegated, then for me, its a fresh slate.
New team and manager. Lots of buying new players. Ending contracts for under performing players.
Rooney in my opinion has under performed as a manager.
The club would need a manager capable of promoting Derby in the first season.
There would be a huge cost to the club of maintaining a Premier league stadium at league 1 ticket prices.

How much would it cost to do a complete rebuild of the team, to something able to complete for a top 2.
I can't think of any area of the team that wouldn't require improvement, given this season.
Is it a good idea to tell the world you have a lot of money to spend.
Other clubs will rub their hands together and say, happy to charge you more than market value for players.
If this money exists, I'd wonder whats happening about buying the ground.
Doesn't not owning the ground mean you don't get the full money from sponsorship and merchandise, which is a big reason to own the ground.
Derby will need some very good scouts, but those scouts will think we can charge more since we know the team has deep pockets

The sky sports article on Alonso was helpful.
However, I now turn my attention to Rooney.
Rooney is a big name, he might well help attract talent to Derby.
Rooney doesn't have his fa coaching badge.
Rooney while fielding a weak team and not being able to strengthen it effectively has except with loan players, most of whom were probably the best he could get at the time with team facing potential relegation.
Do I trust Rooney to strengthen the team with enough talent to promote the club.
Do I trust Rooney to stop making tactical blunders, because in my opinion he's picked the wrong tactics several times and cost Derby the match.
At present I'm thinking Rooney would make a good assistant manager but he's not the finished article ready to take Derby through a promotion challenge.
He doesn't look to me like someone who can mastermind enough wins.
This season the teams largely been to weak to be a threat at the championship level.
Next season the newly demoted teams with their parachute payments will be in the strongest position to win promotion.
There are a number of more tactically astute managers than Rooney in the championship already.
Derby need a manager who knows how to win promotion to the Premier league.
Can Rooney achieve that.
Its a gamble for Alonso to say he puts his trust in Rooney
I know these things have been said already.
I'm just revoicing the thoughts of others

I think that Alonso is a broker. He sorts out deals for clubs, on behalf of wealthy clients.
In the case of Sheffield Wednesday, an indonesian consortium was seeking to buy the club.
