Cashin is a weird one for me. He was brilliant when he first came in and outstanding at times last season. But I just don’t see a top player in him. I don’t think his natural ability is that high nor his potential. It seems like when he is playing brilliantly, he is already reaching his max, almost overachieving compared to his natural ability.
I could be wrong but I just see a future solid Championship player at the most. No more.

Serious question,  was thinking whilst at the game yesterday relative to the level we are playing at and the standard of football we are playing I think this team is a contender for our worst ever side.
I only started watching in 2008 as I was 9 then and that's when I got into Derby, but this is definitely the worst team since I've been watching,  heard we were bad in the 1980s but I doubt we were ever this bad.  2007 Prem side would beat this team imo and wouldn't struggle vs average League 1 teams.
What do people think who have been watching for decades? Got to be up there at the moment imo.

weve done the managerial merry go round before and it nearly killed us
sadly weve got to sup it up put our big boy pants on and keep our fingers crossed that time allows the players to gel and execute a game plan with greater conviction than last night
 

I know I’m a nob for saying this (and for plenty of other stuff too) but I did predict we would start the season with a weaker side than the one that finished last season.

Fair enough, I disagree on that. The players we have can and should amount to more and I believe the root cause of that to be the manager.

Frankly the bloke is clueless.  Clowes should act decisively. I would use what remains in our transfer budget to pay him off.

We're stuck with the mug unfortunately.  Clowes was stupid to give him a 4 year deal, he has to change the set up and abandon the 5 man defence starting Saturday.  Next few games are last chance saloon after how we have started but he'll probably still stay even if we are getting battered every week unless he comes to a gentleman's agreement like when Cocu left.

f*** me he hasn't really said that has he? Oxford have better players and a better team than us?
We've put our focus on signing players who, paraphrasing his words, you wouldn't expect to playing in League One because they're capable of better than that... and Oxford who finished NINETEENTH last season have a better team than us? After we've recruited players with a budget which the chairman thinks is good enough for promotion?

..that said I'm basing this entirely on things I haven't heard so I realise I will look a d******* if that isn't what's actually been said.
 

This is where I’m at, it’s not really on, just don’t say it, what does it add? It’s hardly going to win him any plaudits amongst the fans and, worse, just makes him look a bit s***. 

I wanted him gone at the end of last season when we failed spectacularly from a comfy position to maintain play offs. 
 
I regrouped and said let’s see what he looks like when he’s had a say in who we sign. We’ve gone backwards. 
 
Honestly where do you see this going? Any decent young player who knows his way around a football sold and replaced by athletes? 

I’ll eat humble pie in the event that I’m proved tragically wrong and he turns this around but Jesus I love Derby and his football makes me want to scratch my eyes out. 
 
We need to be aiming to be a squad (predominantly when funds allow) of younger players who are all comfortable in the ball with a coach that improves the players so we can sell and reinvest alongside integrating good academy prospects. Instead we’ve got a coach who signs players based on how likely they are to beat Darren Moore for a header. 

Why is Rooney in the squad if Warne has no intention of playing him?
He has more football in his little finger than the Chuckle Brothers Warne signed. Surely it’s better to play him and Thompson than Bradley and Hourihane whose only running is to jog to the corner flag.

This. I don’t get it at all. He specifically said he wanted players in the 22-27 age bracket with pace, power and athleticism, goes and signs a load over 30’s? eh? 
I think the transfer window has been abysmal overall, the lack of attacking signings in abundantly obvious to all and sundry
