Really? So you think if Collins could hit a barn door and we actually won the games we should have first few away from home and were about 4th place he would have gone? No chance.

It also demonstrates how stubborn Warne is being at the moment trying to force this horrendous 3-5-2 hoofball system he wants to play that we quite simply do not have the players for. Last season our best football came from playing 4-2-3-1, then we had a decent period towards the end of the season playing a 3-4-2-1 in a similar system to what Plymouth and Ipswich were using. The only reason Warne tried these new formations in the first place was because tried to implement his 3-5-2 early on and we put in some awful performances against City u21s, Port Vale, Ipswich and Exeter.

We played some decent stuff at times last season but we also played some pretty atrocious football at times and if we're honest, without McGoldrick we'd have probably finished midtable at best. After Portsmouth we have a fairly decent run of fixtures to build some momentum and put this fairly poor start behind us. If Warne is still refusing to budge from this 3-5-2 hoofball system and results haven't improved then I'm not sure how even the most staunch Warne supporter can make a case for him to keep his job.

I haven’t read all the way through thus thread, but if seeing our team play football and play it on the front foot is expecting too much, then we have a problem.
We are not expecting more than we should because it is League 1 and therefore crude, because the majority of teams have outplayed us this season, and many did last season. The discontent is knowing we have the players to go for automatic promotion who are being asked to play anti-football.

A lot is made of Rosenoir's away form, unfairly in my opinion (Deserved more against Charlton, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood).
But won 4 out of 5 at home, only losing to the eventual champions and beat a Championship side in the cup
Thought it was a mistake to get rid at the time, and yet to be convinced otherwise.

We're abit bigger than f****** Luton Town. We're not a mega big club but let's not forget who we are and where we came from.

Clowes also has some blame for appointing Warne when we had Rosenior at the club now we get agricultural non league football combined with poor tactics and a failure reaukts wise as well .He was stupid enough to give him 4 years so will have to pay his contract out soon enough as well unless Warne walks out. No I will get flack because he is god on here but Clowes made a poor decision .

I guess I need to adjust my expectations and consider midtable in L1 playing awful football to be acceptable.

I don't get this Clowes is a hero thing.   He's a wealthy man who chose to buy Derby County - now I'll judge him on how he runs it.   That's not a criticism of him - by all accounts he's a decent guy but calling him a hero can blind us to mistakes he *might* be making.   I mean I'm pretty sure some saw Mel as a hero a few years ago but he hadn't a clue how to run a football club.

This is temporary for us we'll be in the championship eventually but feel like we need a richer owner to progress to the next level and someone abit more progressive like the Brighton and Brentford owners.

Paul Warne told me everything I needed to know with Brown.
One of the highlights of pre-season, somewhat of an unknown and surely a better prospect than some on offer.
Would have been great to give him some minutes.. but nowhere to be seen.
He prefers proven championship and league 1 players with skills and attributes enough to get out of this division...
He then coaches them to death, injects his tactical ineptness and we have the mess we currently see.
I bet Barkhuizen can't wait to be fully fit and get 10 minutes here and there.

That's exactly what Sibbo has been in recent seasons - sublet to any position but his own! 

Last year was a nightmare. The almost unthinkable nearly happened - we were so close to losing our beloved football club, founder members of the football league, champions under Clough and Mackay, FA cup winners after the war and European Cup semi-finalists.
David Clowes, a genuine fan with the means to do so, rescued the club at the last minute. He himself says it "was close".
Thanks to him, we have a club, our club.
We must learn the lessons of the past. We must not get into the same precarious mess ever again.
But....we can move on. We must move on. We should now look forward. We do not have to merely be content that the club is still in existence.
It's ok to demand more from the manager, the teams on the pitch (not just the first team but especially them).
We should demand exciting, entertaining football that gets results. It does not mean that we won't forever be grateful to David Clowes for saving the club.
It means we want Derby County to once again be a beacon for good football. Attacking football. Positive football. Entertaining football.
That means passing football, intricate moves, running with the ball, creating chances. It doesn't mean sitting back and hoping to score from a corner or a free kick.
I like Paul Warne, the man. But I don't like his tactics. I don't like his desire to play 3-5-2 with the players he has available, I don't like his use of players out of position or not giving the academy players a chance. I don't like the emphasis on set pieces rather than attacking play.
Yes, at least we still have a club.
But we are Derby County. The football should be, must be, ought to be better 🐏

The usual Saturday night toddler tantrums on here I see. If David Clowes has the sense I think he has, he will stick with Warne even if we don't go up this year.

I would agree with you if there was any evidence of progression. Since Warne has arrived the team has gradually regressed and are getting worse. He's been here over 50 games now. I think our players have actually gotten worse at football because they're training to be brutes instead of footballers. The players hate playing this way and look miserable. No team wants to loan us players because they're not going to learn anything playing this style. We could wait 20-25 games but then half the seasons over and we might have to write of another year. 
The longer we leave Warne in charge, the longer it will take to reverse the damage he's doing.

Imagine Forest get in the Conference League and have European nights within the next few years while we are stuck with Warne in League 1 with the likes of Collins and Washington running around like headless chickens chasing Channel balls and long hoofs.
