Phuket Ram reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in If we go bust, I think we'll take the EFL with us
I hate to say it, but if/when we are liquidated the EFL will carry on regardless and will no doubt be seen as heroes in a year or twos time, having negotiated a bigger/better deal for its members, ensuring the unfortunate events seen at Derby County never happen again.
We are the sacrificial lamb in their fight against the prem.
Just look at the silence from the likes of Talk Sport and Sky Sports. Our club is days away from liquidation and all they care about is Rooney and Everton.

Sent my email to Parry. I do feel though we need somehow to orchestrate crowd funding and quickly. In fact Im surprised that hasn't started as soon as Administration. Please BAWT, RAMSTRUST, PUNJABI anyone with a bit of organisation behind them, please kick this off, there are thousands of people who would chip in, some very rich people too....

Written to my MP. Suggest we all do this. The behaviour if the EFL is outrageous. Middlesbrough and Wycombe should be suing them.

There is no way anyone would have the balls to terminate his contract over Rooney's head, I'm guessing the EFL blocked the extension. Anyone any the wiser??

This is actually a very good point, think of all the wrong decisions in football. Should have been offside, was a clear handball etc.
If this was to go ahead it would open the doors to suing every wrong decision in football.

Absolutely, if they are so convinced they have a case let them them start the ££ meter running on their legal advisors account. The case would be laughed out of court IMO

Not really in the spirit of the thread but % evaluation is so difficult given the number of variables, especially which players we can keep & if any other clubs implode before May.
Said it before but I'm purely looking in terms of milestones instead of the whole picture. First two miestones were to get out of negative points, then to double points & we've done both quicker than I thought. Next milestone is to get past Barnsley, who seem to be struggling badly. Once we're off the bottom, the belief we can reel others in should increase.
    My checklist (I accept 3 & 4 and 4 & 5 may swap depending on events elsewhere);
    1. Get out of negative points DONE
    2. Get into double figures points DONE
    3. Get off the bottom/past Barnsley
    4. Get within 9 points/3 games off 4th bottom
    5. Get to 22nd (looking like Peterborough are the target)
    6. Get within one positive result of 4th bottom
    7. Get out of bottom 3

Enjoying the win tonight, after the points deduction the whole footballing world wrote us off.
These last 3 games have made me prouder than any 3 in the last 25 years. We aren’t going to roll over and die, let’s take each game as it goes, hopefully win more than we lose and see where we are at the end of the season.
duck the EFL, duck the rest of the league, duck that girly haired duck Gibson, we are Derby County and we’ll fight ‘til the end! ?

Phuket Ram reacted to PistoldPete in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
I think you are being disingenuous here about the EFL. They said they regretted . were disappointed etc about our punishment.. they had been pushing for a penalty points deduction and pushing for that deduction to be be applied retrospectively to the season gone... which would have relegated us, of course as we only dodged relegation by one point.
Yet previously, they wanted to apply the points deduction not retrospectively to us for the 2019-20 season as that would have had no effect on our season. But they did want to apply the points deduction retrospectively to 2019-20 for Sheffield Wednesday as that would have relegated then in that season. Fortunately for Wendies, the LAP was having none of that .. EFL arbitraging to get maximum penalty it possibly can..  stance from EFL rightly called out by the LAP as disgraceful. So Wendies avoided a retrospective punishment.. although it was  temporary stay of execution of course, they were relegated in 2020/1 anyway.
It is not reasonable in anyway for EFL to be expressing sentiments, spinning lines to the media and briefing them against the Rams... and worse.. leaking selectively to the press stories that ultimately prove to be untrue.
Nor should they be seeking to give maximum punishments they can get away with , especially to clubs in distress, and especially when any fault lies with the owners (in fact now former owners) , not with the club itself.

The government decided that football could largely support itself through the pandemic, despite removing the means of maintaining cashflow from around 60 EFL clubs, including DCFC. Instead, they bunged billions into the Arts. Then they harumphed about the lack of any voluntary sharing of TV money by the PL with the rest of the pyramid.
In the light of that, complaining about one of the foreseeable consequences of their policies is risible.

Square pegs? He's expecting both Jags & Curtis to be ball playing centre-halves - not something that they are naturals at....He's picking Roos for his ball-playing ability - something he may show in training, but something he's incapable of doing in pressure situations.....He's playing Bird & Shinnie next to each other which, as we've seen over many games, limits both of them....He's playing Morrison to give us quality going forward, but Morrison is then having to drop back to in front of the centre-halves to get the ball because Bird & Shinnie aren't doing the basics as CDMs...Last night he played Sibley on the right which dramatically limited his effectiveness....He played Tom Lawrence who at times looks more like a square peg than a professional footballer - always on his heels and more often looking for a fight rather than looking to hurt the opposition with his play....
As far as shots on target, maybe we did have as many as they did - who scored the most goals and got the 3 points?

What a sideshow we've made of things, between the club and the EFL.
Young players can't get the development they require, either here or on loan.
You'd like to see common sense applied to such things, but it's in short supply it seems.

Pretty ridiculous really. We can’t loan a player out to develop. We can’t sign anyone on loan to help them develop. We can’t give some out of work a contract because we aren’t allowed to. What a farce this is
