Dordogne-Ram reacted to Sparkle in Luke Plange
It is nice to see another football club communicating decently unlike the two parasite clubs

That was my understanding too. EFL are keen to spin all sorts of things to draw attention away from the issue with the hyenas by going on about it being the administrators fault for not naming a preferred bidder despite the obvious stumbling block over the massive variation what they might in theory be required to pay due to actions of other clubs. The HMRC have (I believe) been involved in talks and agreed a potential way forward but obviously if opportunist ambulance chasers suddenly want a slice of a finite pie which leaves them with less money then that agreement cannot move forward. Whatever way the EFL like to spin this, the claims by Boro and Wycombe are the things that are preventing a resolution and the EFL have encouraged these claims by their inaction and are allowing it to undermine any rescue.
I read a comment on the Boro forum about hoping that Gibson 'taking us to the cleaners' and I just thought 'You really don't get this do you'. This action will not work because it kills a takeover if it succeeds. If there is no takeover then there is liquidation and the incredibly limited assets that will produce 1/20th of bugger all as at present we have almost no assets - no ground, playing staff all on about-to-expire contracts. There has been a great deal of 'High Horse' pontificating about nasty Derby denying tax payers money to HMRC. If Boro get their way and are added as a football creditor and we are inevitably liquidated as a result then the tax payer will get sod all. How's the view from that High Horse now then ?

I would like to think not but we have no oversight and the EFL is accountable to no one.

Clearly the Boro board member can't be involved in nominating the EFL's representative.
I think the EFL's first and only goal is to not be sued at the end of all this. Their secondary goal is "not be replaced by Tracy crouch"

Don't worry. Rams Trust are talking with Margaret, Amanda and Pauline regularly. They are fully up to speed.

You can't be designated creditor status based on the probability of something happening in the future. It's ludicrous and only the EFL could preside over such a shambolic state of affairs.

Its quite possible you are correct and I have missed that.
However, I am beyond being reasonable in any way, shape or form toward Gibson and Parry.

The EFL are withholding our SKY TV cash as part of our punishment.
The £8m covid payment they kept, the -21 points, the transfer embargo and the wage cap are not enough.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to angieram in Luke Plange - signed for Palace & loaned back
I'm not sure why you're so reluctant to give Palace any credit for this. I don't see any other clubs lining up to help us out with cash up front.
There are no guarantees that Plange will be able to make it as a Premier League player. There is no guarantee that CP wouldn't have been able to save themselves a million quid if they'd waited until the end of the season.
Whereas we WILL go out of business in just a few weeks if we can't scrape together enough money to get to the end of the season.
I think it's a genuine nice thing for Crystal Palace to do and I hope it does work out for them and Plange goes on to have a great career at the highest level.

An auction that might have benefitted the player, but not DCFC. I'm only really concerned about how DCFC get best value and unless we're able to extend his contract, this transaction seems to achieve that.

Around £1m is being widely reported. Whatever it is, it was enough to convince Quantuma and Rooney that it was a deal that worked for the club at this critical time.
When was this auction due to take place, for a player who is out of contract in the summer?
Some folk need to remember Rooney's words from a couple of months ago when the EFL restrictions meant we couldn't use him in the first team : "I wouldn't blame his parents if they wanted to take him out of here". Now we've got a million quid and the use of him for the rest of the season.
I'm truly baffled by the detachment from reality of some of the comments about this transfer.

I know it doesn't feel like it, but this has been a hugely successful transfer window in the circumstances.
We've not been decimated to point we can't put out a team that's competitive in the championship.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to Rev in Tom Lawrence - Joined Rangers
Let him join on a short term contract.
In a few days time, a tight and tense affair is settled by a 93rd minute Tom Lawrence thunderbolt.
The fans are stunned, they've never seen an own goal like it.
Tom whips off his Smoggie shirt, to reveal a Rams top underneath, with 'Not even sorry' written in black marker, before rushing headlong into an embrace with Wayne and co!
"Bugger" sighs Bob Mortimer up in the stands.

McDonald, Rawson, Hanson, Guy, Zanzala and Vernam all could have been at least squad players, offering much better value than Warnock/Olsson, Pearce/Shackell, Butterfield, Johnson, Camara, Anya, Blackman, etc...
I'd add Elsnik to that group too.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Rooney 100% guarantee that no players leaving
We can take the negatives from this window in that every other team in the division has either strengthened or stayed the same apart from Derby who are weaker in losing Jags and Shinnie, two massively important players.
However despite being backed into a corner and forced into a fire sale by the other EFL championship clubs we’ve kept a side that can at least compete which considering we still don’t have a preferred bidder and funds beyond March is amazing work from the administrators.
The key now is a takeover and exit of administration happening between now and the end of the season, this will enable us to at best be able to plan for next season whatever division we are in and build a competitive side, or at worst get something resembling market value for our saleable assets such as Bird Knight Bielik etc.

I hear a lot about leveling up in this country. Well football needs adding to the list.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to StantonRam in Rooney 100% guarantee that no players leaving
Exactly right. The squad now has less depth and fewer options than before, but provided most people stay fit this is still a very competitive team at this level. Even if we do stay up and have new owners in place for August, one suspects that by then most of this squad will have either retired or been sold, which IMO is why the Academy products are so important, because next season will probably be built around them just as this one has been, whatever league we are in.
These players are potentially the saving grace in all this. If we keep producing this kind of quality then (a) we can sell a few (b) we need to dip into the shark infested waters of the transfer market less and (c) these guys will run through walls for the shirt, as they are proving week in week out. There is a connection between the high proportion of home grown talent on display and the level of support that their performances, win or lose, are generating. We all feel it, and that's why Sunday was sold out.
If they had given up then we probably would have too. However, because there is so much fight on display on the pitch, the whole football world is watching the drama, and many neutrals are rooting for us to succeed. We seem to have gone from being the team people love to hate to a new position as everyone's favourite underdogs in a short space of time.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to Rammy03 in Luke Plange
Chairman Steve Parish added: “Luke is an exceptionally talented young footballer and one we hope will bring a range of attributes to the club in the years to come.
“But first, he has an important role to fulfil playing at Derby, and we appreciate his significance to them in their current circumstances. It is less than 12 years ago that our club was in a similar situation - as a result we were determined to ensure both clubs benefit through this deal. Therefore Luke will return on loan for the remainder of the season and help Derby with their important battles on and off the pitch.
“I look forward to seeing Luke compete in Palace colours soon, and until then enjoy the performances he continues to give for Derby.”
Fair play Palace.
