I'm in Derby General Hospital ward 51, After having heart surgery, Ther surgeon says i'm a lucky fella...as the amount of blood loss from my bleeding heart after reading this next production of Jackanory could have meant me having no heart at all for fallen football players.
    1. He goes into the Joiners Arms with other Derby players...OK
    2. He never saw Tom Lawrence...OK
    3. He wasn't overly intoxicated after the death of his Nan...OK
    4. He gets into a 4x4 as there were other players in the 4x4...OK
    5. He didn't think Tom was Rat Arsed...OK
    6. Ambulance personel tells him he's been in a RTA...OK
    7. He was in incredible pain...OK
    8. Derby sacked him for Gross misconduct...OK
    9. He never thought of suicide...OK
So in just those 9 short observations...who was actually at fault Mr Keogh? Telling all and sundry might clear your conscience, But in essense it's all down to you...OK!

Whilst I often disagree with some comments on here, the general view is normally shared. This is completely different for me. I am on the side of Keogh more than the club.
He is a young (in all real world comparisons) footballer who has grown up in the football vacuum. You only need look at Rooney to see the poor decisions people in the vacuum can make. I believe the Club have a huge responsibility to nurture and shield these players. I look at this situation and I can only blame the club. It was a team event, these players are worth a lot of money the Club should have looked after them better, it's that simple.
I employ a small team, if I organised a pi$$ up and some had driven I would be certain to make sure nobody drove home! Whilst they are valuable to be they are not multimillion pound footballers.
I personally think sacking Keogh was disgraceful, whatever you feel about his ability as a footballer that's irrelevant. Imagine this was your workplace, switch the names and see how you would feel. He deserves his payout. For Lawrence to be retained and now be captain must make Keogh feel sick.
Just to be clear, I am a Derby fan, love the club, but feel strongly that the Club was disgraceful in this case.

Keogh and Mel are made for each other. They were thick as thieves back in the day. Sums up the whole rotten nature of the club. Zero responsibility.
    What a big massive clown.

Great servant my arse .I just don’t get that he did anything of note on the pitch.I thought he was one of the least skillful blokes ever to wear a Derby shirt ,yet some thought he was brilliant Ffs.He’s gone to right place now ,the sand will be good for his joints.Donkey .Rich one but still a Donkey.

    "Hey Derby fans,
Really sorry your club has gone into administration but I still deserve my multi million pound payout because my leg hurt a lot & as I was the innocent victim here, I've decided to do a PR piece focusing on me & how your money is helping to compensate me. Lots of people in football agreed with me - here are their names. I've employed a life coach to look at certain aspects of my character but obviously still can't take any responsibility for my role in what happened. Pretty unreasonable for me to notice how leathered my driver was, to put on a seltbelt or remember that as a senior player & captain, perhaps I should be acting as the grown up here. Obviously still love Derby & would be happy to be paid by the club again in some capacity in the future."

    Utter contempt.

*********, so glad he has gone…wish I was there to boo him every crap touch he makes when he comes back for Blackpool.

    12, possibly, 21? No way.
EFL will decide we are getting too close anyway and tack on another 12 point deduction for still existing.

Couldn't agree more.  Rudiger is currently delaying on signing a new contract, asking for circa £200,000 a week (over £10m a year).  Christensen has just agreed a new £120,000 a week contract, jumping from £78,000.  It's honestly obscene.  Yeah they're good footballers but really? It's no wonder the game's broken.

My personal favourite deal during the Mel era was sending Chris Martin off to Fulham for 12 months, with a likelihood of sale, giving him an extended and enhanced contract 6 months into that deal as Mac wanted him back, sacking Mac 2 months later, and then loaning out Martin for a couple of seasons. Genius.

He was a midfielder, we can disagree on the other part.
I don't dislike Mac and he has been a good servant to the club but remind me what he won again? It's not hard to paint each of his stays here as ultimately being ones of failure and I'm not quite sure this vision of him as the Messiah three times over lines up well with the facts.

rubbish Maguire and Gibson have no say efl are dealing with administrators not Morris now. we need to move on from this paper talk innuendo/clickbait rubbish and get our club sorted and as no one on here knows the full details why keep making things up does it help no. only thing that helps club is getting behind Wayne the team the club feel sorry for trusted hard working staff that lose jobs and look to future . don't whinge and whine about new prospective owners. i look at this way Middlesboro is still an awful place with or without Gibson. and we should applaud Wayne for dipping into his own pocket to help out.

    Rush however... no thanks.

I wish people would stop assuming that Mel could have paid off the debts before walking away.
No he couldn't. That's what's got us into this problem in the first place - with him trying to use every trick in the book (and a few new ones) to try and put more money in than is allowed under FFP/P&S rules.

I doubt he will show his face around Derby any time soon if ever.
He will go down in history as the bafoon who took the club into ruin.
There is no malice involved like the three amigos. It's just sheer naivety, mismanagement and stupidity.
    That will be his legacy.
If it was me who had done that to this club I would be beside myself.

This has been a slow burner for me....but I am now really angry at his actions. The vast majority of his wealth is still in tact but he lets the Rams go to the wall through his own incompetence. Despicable......

It's not about then, though, it's about now.
The problem isn't making sure players can "earn a living" it is about the ridiculous salaries and fees which are now so far beyond earning a living that they are crippling every club.
