He's just signed a new 2.5 year contract, has finally found a footballing home at the age of 31 and is playing the best football of his career. He's going nowhere, other than to the Championship with Derby.

Very strange reaction to a win, you’re almost disappointed that we won?
We’re second in the table. Whether you enjoy his football or management style is a different question, but ‘big’’ sides have failed multiple times in this division. If you look at results alone, he’s actually doing a very good job. To call him a clown is a little childish in my opinion.

Today felt like a promotion to me. We are going to do it, its not pretty but with the addition of Ebou in midfield we've got that bit of bite we needed.
We matched a very physical team who are well drilled in the dark arts, we battled and kept trying to play despite several of their players constantly in the refs ear and the fat controller giving it large to the 4th official all game.
Tough game and a massive 3 points.
Fckn love Derby, Fckin love Derby..........Thought the South Stand got behind the lads today just as they needed it. That 10 minutes or so of noise kept the lads going and saw off any chance of them getting on top.
We can do this, us and the team i mean. The fans made a difference i thought, some great noise during that second half.

I'm tempted to say I enjoyed that second half... even before the goal.
OK, we still lacked a little composure.  Guile.  Dare I say skill.  But I can take that, as I'm a fan of a third division team.
But we did look willing.  They did give their all.  They did appear to believe in themselves... so much so that for the first time this season (at home), the fans sensed it.  We too showed belief.  That was the best home atmosphere of the season.  The club as a whole deserved that winner today.  We deserved those 3 points.  We all deserve to feel that feelgood factor this evening.
Today is the day that belief finally kicked in.  We're a long way from the finish line of course, and I suspect we still have to endure a few ugly moments before we get there... but we're heading in the right direction, and tonight Matthew, I'm gonna be smug!

Did anybody think that this game was ever going to be anything other than ugly turgid affair?
In my opinion today was about getting the three points while avoiding red cards or injuries, so to me it was job done. We stood up to a team that play the way that traditionally beats us, so to get a win with the little bonus of beating that cheating fat f***, Steve Evans is a very happy day.
    Come on you Rams

Win your away games and draw your home games and you should finish top 2. Bonus win today, especially without a centre forward.
So many experts on here who think it's some sort of disgrace we keep it tight at home.
Great noise from the fans too. Maybe they are enjoying being 2nd?

It’s not that I am pro or anti. It’s that the anti mob are so irritating. The so called pro side tend to reflect on the good and the bad. The anti are just fixated, win or lose. Never give an inch, dull, obsessed, spoilt, churlish and without perspective. I suspect that Those of us, (me included ) that are vaguely supportive, only post in a vain attempt to balance the one eyed vitriol.

Dreading Saturday .. looking like 4 strikers all injured, but it will be completely Warne’s fault if we lose, or pure luck if we win. Like a horrible scratched record.

Yep it’s interesting that the poster minimise mcg under warne and perhaps nml by saying his goals per game was better than his best career season under warne when mcg dropped down before yet we have heard consistently how warne beasts his players and causes time out injured , well he got a tune out of mc g and is doing the same with nml ,
I just wish certain posters would give warne a fair crack of the whip , everything bad is because of him , everything good in spite of him is the default of some 🤷🏻‍♂️

Exeter form team in the league recently beaten Barnsley and Posh. Not only beaten, but swept aside. This is a statement performance. How can you not get behind Warne and the team after this. Yes we need to follow up with a win against Stevenage but most of the people I was debating with on Sunday didn’t think we had that performance in us. We are right in this!!
Some excellent performances, adams is an excellent signing, max was outstanding tonight, Mendez ruthless and Collo a war horse who got kicked from pillar to post but led the line brilliantly. CBT clearly not right yet and struggling with niggles but if the affect of having him means Barkhuizen performs like that then that’s a win also. That 45 from Barks was the best I’ve seen him play. Brilliant!!
The doubters even need to give Warne the credit he deserves tonight.

Anyone driven away from a promotion campaign to try and get out of a god awful league where every team sees you as a cup final and make everything a scrap, to be honest we’re better off without them.
Seen enough decent performances and glimpses of us trying to play but lots of teams try to stop us playing. The Paul Warne style of play thing is a myth down to peoples perception of his time at Rotherham from those who never wanted him here.  Apparently the ball is in the sky more than on the ground at Derby these days with Paul Warne in charge. Not what I’ve seen.
It isn’t Steve McClaren football, nowhere near, but we’re in league 1 still under restrictions, people need to stop comparing us to what we used to be. Yes we want to get back there and is he the man to do it, Jury is definitely out.
In my mind it is bonkers we are having these debates on Warne when we’re second!! Just bonkers.

You must have seen the comments I'm referring to, barely spend much time on here myself yet I've seen the signings are crap, the league is crap, we should be walking it. I'm not just pulling random crap out my arse here and it's not merged with comments from Twitter/X, don't even read replies to anything or view hashtags.
This forum, the comments are there, even the Forest forum has referenced said comments.
The Charlton TV co commentator, he was referencing fan podcasts, not sure which one(s)
The reaction to even drawing a game is way way over the top, we can literally not drop any points whatsoever without Warne having his balls under threat from the pitchforks.

Which is never accounted for with those that prefer to view the world of Derby County under dark clouds.
Wasn't long ago where we were being told there isn't enough time now to catch the front runners yet here we are, Wednesday morning needing only to better Portsmouth in one game and win the game in hand, top 2 is then in our own hands.
Absolutely no reason why any Derby fan can't just sit and enjoy the rest of the season, whilst not mathematically there, play off place barring an absolute disaster looks secure which means we have a real chance of promotion.
Realistically that's all you can wish for, that chance.
Anyone demanding promotion, will be the ones viewing the club under the dark clouds, which is their own personal choice.
Paul Warne is crap, can't sign decent players, has no pull, look at the crap he's signed.
Lose a game with said crap team, my next-door neighbour could get this squad promoted, we should be running away with the league.
    Which is it?
Anyhow, we will lose another game and the Out Out will rise from the pages, highlighting the pain and suffering we are going through.
I watched Saturday's game via Charlton TV, their co commentator had a cheeky pop at Derby fans complaining and how hard life must be in 4th (at the time). We must, and I say we as a bundled in Derby County fan must look a bit bonkers from the outside world.

Best midfielder at the club. Leaving as won't sign a new contract. Good fee. Keep the player for the rest of the season.
He came through the ranks, stood by us when we were on our arse, does his best, good egg arond the place, getting a bigger wage in a higher division, club doesn't lose out.
Max Bird comes out well, Derby County come out well.

It’s interesting because in the Warne out topics you will find others argue till they are blue in the face that McGoldrick and Collins have bailed Warne out.
Yet here we are in another corner of the internet where it’s not the individuals but the team that’s inflating “bog standard” players stats.
Could it not be, Warne is a decent manager at this level, Collins is a decent striker and we have a decent team hence why we find ourselves at the top end of the table fighting for promotion.

I fear there is too much expectation on Dejaune Brown.  Some people appear to be expecting him to walk into the side and play at a level he has never been near to before.
Yes, he’s a prospect, but when we’re looking at a very raw player, we have to nurture him and that is why sending him out on loan to Gateshead is beneficial for him in the longer term.
If he was up to the level that we’re looking at, I would expect him to have had more time on our bench, and the fact that he got 13 mins off the bench on Saturday means he’s still got some development to go.

Sorry mate I would disagree here.
Forsyth was our only left back on the books in the summer. He signed a one year deal and most agreed he would have been a good squad player to have. We then signed Elder, who pretty much we all agreed on that it was a really good signing. 28 years old, won league one previously, had 10 assists from left back. Unfortunately for him he was injured in pre season and missed most of it. Missing pre season is massive for any player as they are playing catch up.
How do we know that he wouldn't get infront of Forsyth of he'd been fit and firing all season? We don't. He's clearly plenty good enough.
    His other signings.
Wilson - Has potential to be really good.
Bradley - Everyone was absolutely buzzing when we signed him. Didn't start great. Made a couple of mistakes (which is all you need to do in our fans cases before we write someone off) and he's unfortunate that Cashin and Nelson have been so good. We probably signed him expecting Cashin to go.
Fornah - Definitely has potential. Still young. Hardly any experience. But there's definitely a player in there. Sometimes to laid back but he'll learn.
Washington - A player Warne trusts. Just starting to see glimpses (the go against Northampton) of what he could do at this level, getting up to speed. Then he's injured on international duty.
Ward - Obviously with 352 in mind. But now he just looks like he's surplus to requirements. I might be wrong. But I just don't see him getting a game or even on the bench soon.
Waghorn - Steady played. No world beater. Cheap, convenient and will still contribute when he's back fit.
Nyambe - Brilliant signing. Really good defender.
Vickers - A keeper. Not really don't anything wrong.
TJJ - Massive risk we felt we could take. Obviously looked at his ability and thought we couldn't get much better if we can get him fit. It's not worked out.
Embleton - Can barely judge this. He did his thigh taking a corner in training.
Some signings don't work out as you hope. It's the way it goes.
But we don't seem to give anyone a chance before we want them gone or say they are s****. I've seen some having a go at CBT already after playing 80 minutes of football for us.
I've just seen Brighton are letting Dahoud go. A midfielder they signed from Dortmund in the summer. Clearly not worked out it happens.
We're a league one club, with hardly any money, working to restrictions. We can only do what we can do.

Donnyram reacted to MACKWORTHRAM in Lee Gregory (again)
Lee Gregory would be fine if there is nothing else we can get in. He's experienced, will be a handful and I'd fancy him to chip in with a few goals.
What annoys me is I am reading some fans on twitter using this as a stick to beat Warne with. "I'm worried about Warne and our transfer policy if this is what we're doing"
Do you think if we sat Paul Warne in a room he'd say that Lee Gregory was his number one target and one he has always wanted?
No he wouldn't. Ideally he'd want a 24-27 year old proven league one striker who's ready to go and good enough to step up to the championship but if there are any available then 1. They aren't going to be sold and 2. If they were, we can't afford them. At all.
It's like our fans have seen that we have next to nothing, had to dip into a loan pot for CBT and are just ignoring that.
If Gregory comes in he'll get my support, he's a stop gap for the season. Gives us an option. Is he what I want? No. He's not. But he might be the best we can get given our budget.
I've seen people say they'll be livid if we sign Gregory and we should have kept Brown. Livid? If be more livid if we didn't bring someone in.
Brown is nowhere near ready yet. Thrusting a young player in early can ruin them.
I remember when we got linked with Jordan Rhodes and people were kicking off then. He's second top goalscorer now.
But alas, it's all Warnes fault. Warnes fault we've got no money, Warnes fault our midfield is poor when half of them are out injured.

Donnyram reacted to YorkshireRam in Does Warne deserve the vitriol aimed at him?
What you've said is fine haha, I was being deliberately flippant because I think a fair few people massively overreact about Warne when we lose a game.
I'm just sick of reading the 'PE Teacher' comments and similar, from people literally not even qualified to lace up his boots. I acknowledge he knows far more about football than I ever will, this self awareness seems to be severely lacking in some.

Perhaps we’re going to make a double signing announcement of CBT & Smith and leaving it as late as possible to disrupt Reading’s match preparations.
You can see it now with the Reading manager putting panic notes to the group WhatsApp…… “scrap everything I said, Derby have just made a double signing and our intelligence tells us they’re now going to get it out wide and put it into the box”
